Over Xakanaxa Camp

"April 2017 Camping"
We had a very good experience, campsite close to the ablution block, very clean, hot water. ladies in charge of the relation were more than accommodating, always there to help and sort out small issues, we were told that they would come and advise us when lions would be close, but they (lions) did not pitch. Unfortunately, it was far too wet/flooded, so we did not saw much animals, no hippos (heard them though), no crocodiles to be seen, BUT had the priviledge to see a leopard close enough (25 meters), not far from Paradise Pool, but had to go through some flooded areas to get there, well worth it. Overall, a great spot with loads of potential in the dry season, will go back.
"The perfect safari"
Set in the Okavango Delta this is a truly wonderful place to enjoy wilderness in Africa. The plethora of wildlife is a given. The superb quality of service is a bonus. Head chef Rosemary delivers superb food throughout the day. Our guide, Harrison, felt like a friend very quickly.
"Fifth time now still and again amazing"
Two years ago I was a little disappointed because of the changes made in the organization of the staff and the atmosphere was not as usual. Now I have to say Xakanaxa is better than ever, back on its feet, lovely staff working excellent together. We spent a great time here and I have to say that Chemical our guide was awesome, no effort to much to show and explain us everything. Loved Paradise Island again so much really a paradise. Will be back definitely for the sixth time!!!
"Amazing place with superb service"
Staying at Camp Xakanaxa has been one of the best experiences I had in my life. Since the moment you arrive, the staff at the Camp make you feel like home and you feel as if you are part of that special place. The specific things I liked: + Even though you sleep in tents, they are extremely comfortable and nothing to envy to a room in a nice hotel (great and ample room, good bed, nice terrace in front of the river) + They have a nice common area in front of the river. My wife and I went there every afternoon to see the sunset and have some drinks, such a magical place + Our guide was extremely professional. I have never known a person so knowledgeable about one place and with such great will you to explain you everything. + The staff was great. They provided very good service and always with a smile on their face. We shared different stories with them and their culture + The game reserve is great. Even though we went during the rainy season (where you´re not supposed to see so many animals), we saw all of them
"Taylor made paradise"
This August, The second step out of 4 for our Botswana tour with Desert & Delta. The whole staff made it special for our anniversary! Tent was very good, good space, detached bathroom, a private veranda on the lagoon. No mosquitos at all, just a spider in the bathroom. Key issue is the staff: welcoming, smiling, they did get in touch with us getting to know us by name and dedicating us a private dinner at the pool with dedicated waitress who was extremely polite. Our guide for the 3 days 2 nights stay was Dennis: absolutely fantastic! Empathic, passionate, knowledgeable, funny, hearty, great! Program: - jeep driven safaris: terrific! Moremi has great landscapes varying from bush to open plains with waters. Plenty of animal such as elephants, mangoose, leopard (2 different in 2 days, lucky!!), kudus and all the kind of gazelle, zebra, baboons, beautiful birds, etc etc. The joke with Dennis was to call for "sighting menu", i asked for wildebeest and of course he managed to show us! - boat tours: we preferred to have just one as we were heading to Camp Okavango. Very pleasant tour on a power boat. Not so.many animals sighting but many beautiful birds and secluded spot. A good chance to relax and learn about okavango delta. Top: a gourmet aperitivo (ggin tonic of course) with the boat grounded on a small grass islet at sunset. Food was very good. Meals were varied and comprehensive. Help yourself open bar. Graet sipping a bear at the boma (fireplace) before dinner Day schedule was great: private flight around midday, safari, dinner. Dawn safari, lunch, siesta, boat tour, dinner. Dawn safari, lunch, private flight to Camp O. Weather: August is "southern winter" which means absolutely blue skies, crazy sunset, dry air. Cold is not on the agenda during the day except for the dawn safari were hat and windstopper is useful (if not a must). Sailing gear is definitely fit. At dinner temperatures are still mild, you only feel the cold at night but you get to be in your big bed under heavy blanket and with hot water bottle! Kea le boga guys, you really delivered us an extraordinary experience and a beautiful personal feeling! Ciao, Filippo & Chiara
