"A wonderful experience... Home away from home"
Prior to finalizing our holidays, we had kept Seychelles at least priority. Not because we were unsure of the destination but we had other destinations like Iceland, Bahamas etc in our hit list. Due to shortage of holidays we decided to zero in Seychelles and till date we consider it as one of the best decision made lately thanks to AVANI resort's hospitality and more so to Mr. Renish (Front desk executive) Our stay at AVANI was equivalent to the beauty which Seychelles takes pride in. During our stay Mr. Renish had made our stay impeccable. There were instances wherein we had irritated Mr. Renish :) (regarding taxis and cabs) but he had handled the situations beautifully and that too without any fuss. He took care of our touring beautifully and was a proper guide in helping us planning our trips. It seriously was one heaven of a holiday. and needless to mention the courtesy extended by the entire team is worth mentioning. Please do visit Seychelles and book your stay with AVANI for a wonderful, enriching, relaxing and hassle free holidays.. Before i sign off i would like to congratulate and thank AVANI management for having Mr. Renish on board for making our holidays as one of the most memorable one Cheers!!! Ankit Lodha
What a beautiful place to stay in Seychelles! Just like being in paradise. It's the only hotel on this wide sweeping bay and so you feel very much away from it all. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. All the staff are very friendly and willing to help. Buffet was excellent with themed cuisines we loved the Arabian and Indian nights. I would recommend going half board though as there aren't many restaurants outside the resort to eat at. Also I would hire a car for a few days to explore the island. You can negotiate a reduced daily rate if you hire for a few days. We went for a spa treatment which was excellent. Overall I would recommend this hotel and I am sure we will return in the future.
This is a really lovely hotel in a private secluded location. Far from the crowds with lots of honeymoon couples. Reception was excellent after a long flight, the room was superb - we had an ocean view room at first floor level with a morning wake-up view of the Indian Ocean. Good swimming pool, varied and interesting food with theme nights on Friday and Saturday. The live group on Saturday was very good. Price of drinks are very reasonable for a hotel. The beach is beautiful, however the waves are strong whilst we were there. There is a natural lagoon on the north end of beach which is good for snorkeling. We saw a variety of fish including a small ray. The small fish can nibble your skin which is a bit disconcerting at first but only a like a fish foot bath!
"Wonderful place to spend the day!"
We had a well spend day at the resort and it was very nice. The staffs were very friendly and the food was great! We enjoyed soaking up the sun by the pool area and I would recommend the place for a family's day out.
"Do not go here!"
Arrival - we were told our check in time wasn't until 2pm but informed that we could still use all the hotel facilities. We sat round the pool and watched as other guests who arrived on the same flight as us were checked into their rooms. As you can imagine, this was very frustrating. At 2.30 however no one had come to find us as promised to let us know if our room was ready, when we asked we were told it would be another half an hour. Rooms - nice comfortable bed, however the floor has not been cleaned properly for some considerable amount of time. This was evident as previous guests spilt drinks were still on the floor. The previously white/grey tiles are now black in many areas as well. Our safe wasn't bolted to the wall. The handyman laughed at us when we asked for this to be done saying the hotel had cctv, unsure what use cctv is when someone has walked off with all your valuable and their safe. The balcony was equally as filthy. Ants crawling all over it, beware as a week into our holiday we found out they had been crawling up our chairs and bitting us leaving horrendous itchy marks on our bodies. Towels were changed daily as we're the bedsheets. We removed everything from our mini bar as we were able to walk to our local shop, however on our second week the cleaner put 2 cans of coke in the fridge, assuming they were ours we drank them, again 2 more appeared. We then realised our mistake and paid dearly for it. Hotel food is not good, and it is priced ridiculously high for what it is. You are not allowed to bring food into the hotel either, the security guard will stop you if you try. Basically robbing you at every oppprtunity. Breakfast costs around £24 per day per person which is ridiculous, it's a nice buffet by way over priced for what it is. Beach - nice to sit and look at from the bar / restaurant area however the sand is rough and unable to swim in the sea as it permanently had a red flag flying, however there is a small part protected with rocks. You can swim and snorkel in this small area. However the beach as a whole leaves a lot to be desired. Very worth paying €35 for a sunbed at the four seasons! General grounds - leave a lot to be desired. Random stuff just dumped in the back corridor every day. They were decorating the day we left, however I don't believe you will see much improvement as they were just painting over filth that must have built up over a year at least. Swimming pool - to say that this was redone last month is beyond a joke. Not much else to say about it really. General service - Outrageous. Can take up to 30 minutes just to get a drink. If you try to get your own directly from the bar the barman serves the waitraises whilst your stood there waiting. I waited over an hour and a half for a pizza on one occasion. Ask for a wine list at dinner... good luck getting it and if you do you will only be told they don't have any of the wines on the list! The manager will then inform you they do have 1 or 2 of them however they are not chilled. What's the point in having wine if your only going to chill the cheap stuff Avani? Check out - would have been ok had the receptionist not tried to charge us nearly double what we had spent and the room next door (237) I believe had been charging things to our room. After rectifying the issue no apology was received until we highlighted the fact that taking cash out of our hands and charging us for someone else's bill was actually called ripping someone off. At this point and insincere apology was received. Such a shame as some of the stuff here are happy and friendly. There is just a serious lack of management here. Overall this hotel spoilt what could have been a nice relaxing 2 week holiday by being clumsey, expensive and unclean. If you have already booked I would recommend contacting your agent and changing hotels. If your looking to book, look at other options before settling for Avani!
