"THE place where earth is beautiful..."
Thinking about the best place to be free in the bush will surely drive you to bushmans kloof like we just did it... this is the second time we stay in this outstanding place and what we love the most is to stay in the Koro lodge, a private house at 5 kilometers from the main lodge offering to guests an extraordinary experience with a while team dedicated to you only: a private house manager, a private chef, a private SUV with your very own guide and a private housekeeper. If you go to this ultra luxury option, no doubt you will have the feeling to be the owner of this malaria and predators free reserve just like we did. Koro lodge is a very beautiful place, wonderfully decorated, nestled in a lovely garden with its own private pool and surrounded by dramatic cederberg mountains. It is quite spectacular to look around and realize how our planet is amazing and how this place offers to guests this feeling to be the only ones. Designed for up to 6 adults and 4 kids, Koro lodge is perfect for families or friends traveling together. During our last stay, we were traveling with my partner, my parents and a couple of friends and we all enjoyed every second of our 4 nights stay. Every day we woke up in this incredibly warm atmosphere of the lodge, hardly left the ultra comfortable bedrooms but hearing open fire cracking pushed us out of bed for the most delicious breakfast with an extensive selection of delicacies. The team actually makes everything ready for you just to enjoy and relax and we can't thank Nicholas and the Koro team for everything they've done to us. Following breakfast, we had the choice of laying down (What we've done most of the time...) or going to your very own tailored excursion... We preferred the afternoon time for touring after yummy outside lunches and thanks to Zenobia, our super passionated and passionating guide, we've seen a lot of fabulous things we will keep in mind for ever... animals hunting, drinks sundowners, kayaking, flowers observation... for those who prefer more physical activities, bikes and archery are some of the options available but there are just examples... At night, chef prepared delicious dinners in the intimacy of our "home away from home" matching always so well with the wine selection of the Koro cellar (yes, wines are included as well as a range of spirits and alcohols as a cherry on top of the cake...). We left our house one time for a dinner in the main lodge and it was even more refined... had the best mushrooms soup and a fantastically juicy piece of beef... A culinary moment. I could talk again about bushmans kloof for hours because it is a very very special place pushing so high the guests satisfaction. We are already planning our third visit... it means so much...

"Excellent location & service make up for rooms with cottage appeal"
Bushmans Kloof has always been I destination I wanted to go and when they had a "Pay 2 stay 3" winter special we finally decided to book. I have been struggling with writing this review as I am somewhat in two minds about the experience. We had a truly great time and felt very pampered, particularly from a food perspective. Breakfast, Lunch, HighTea and the 4 course dinner is absolute spectacular. We did not expect such a treat and focus on food. We went on the morning drive and the afternoon drive which are essentially just nature drives with a stop and short walk to look at the famous bushman paintings. I think where we probably expected a bit more was regarding the rooms. The standard rooms (or standard luxury or whatever the cheapest category is called) are like stone cottages: rather dark and not really warm, which in Winter makes you not necessarily want to stay in the room during the day. There are heated blankets at night which is great and the bathroom also has underfloor heating. However you can't really take in the great views unless you step outside. The cold winter months obviously also don't allow for the variety of dinner options, that Bushman Kloof has and shows on their amazing images. All in all, for R 2950 per person sharing/night it was nice but I missed the Wow moment, other then when facing High Tea and Dinner. But if you are, like me, a keen eater but not someone with a high priority on food, you may be a bit disappointed. For 5* food you can stay in Cape Town. Having said that: The service and staff is excellent, we particularly remember Daniel, Beatrice and Avivo, and it seems that the Group looks after their staff which is always a good sign. If the rooms had less of a cottage appeal and would maximise the views in this great location, this would easily be a 5* review.
"Quiet, Tranquil and Excellent Service All Round"
Really enjoyed my stay. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet and relaxing. The food was excellent and the staff so friendly and efficient. To be honest I have never had such good service before. The room was very comfortable and even though it was the middle of winter it was kept warm due to underfloor heating as well as our fireplace which gave it a lovely ambiance. The only problem we had was that the pool that came with our room was not warm enough to swim in but that did not affect our stay.
"Out in the bush"
This is a spectacular place has to be one of the nicest hotel come retreat I have stayed at. Our suite was unbelievable huge lounge where you then walked out onto a enormous sun area the bathroom was palatal where every pampering needs were catered for. Moving on to the bedroom with its four poster bed you would loose one and other in it it was so big, but then to top that off there was another huge seating area that you walked out to which would comfortably seat 10 people as would the sun deck. There are swimming pools on your doorstep which were immaculate kept with a vista to die for with the mountains as a back drop and a lawn that went on forever. With in this area there is an open fronted building where you take afternoon tea (meal in its self). The activists consist of driven small safaris with the most knowledgeable guides I have come across just excellent. As for the dinner menu 6 courses if you can manage it of better than 5 star quality served by the most well trained waiters or waitresses really now there job. Can't fault this unbelievable place at all. Nothing but nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff to serve your needs to the fullest.
