"Outstanding memorable experience!"

My husband and I stayed at Camp Jabulani for 2 nights in September and the lodge/experience exceeded our expectations in every way! The luxurious suite was spacious and had a deck with plunge pool overlooking the bush. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented! Ruan, our ranger was very knowledgeable and personable. He was able to track down the Big 5 plus many other animals and birds including a newborn rhino! The safari schedule is flexible too which meant you didn't have to get up at 5 am if you didn't want to - you could go out later. And of course the elephant safari and interaction which was the main reason for selecting this lodge was an amazing experience! I still dream of riding an elephant under the stars in Africa! We learned so much about elephants and it was evident that they are so well treated and loved by the trainers. We were sad to leave Camp Jabulani and wished we had been able to stay longer. We would love to return one day and would highly recommend it!

"Elephant experience"

We stayed as an adult family of 6 in the Zindoga Villa (My wife & I and both sets of parents) We had an incredible time at Camp Jabulani. The accommodation was luxurious and tastefully african with so many personal touches it really felt like home within minutes of arriving. We were superbly looked after by the entire staff from our guide Ruan, to our chef Alex and Shadrick who held everything together. Nothing was too much trouble and at no point could I think of anything we needed in addition to what was expertly provided. The experience with the elephants was wonderful. Having spent 3 months working with Jabulani when he was only 4 years old I was returning to see him for the first time in 15 years. It was wonderful to see him so grown up and how happy and well integrated with the herd he has become. These elephants are not captive. The size and strength they possess means they could leave any time they want to. They choose to be here because they are so well looked after and cared for. I particularly enjoyed watching their behaviour at the water hole each day. If you admire African elephants as I do and want to experience them up close and personal while staying in the lap of luxury this is definitely the place to come. Game drives with Ruan were relaxed and informative and all revolved around our wishes. The food was sublime. Alex is a genius. I was apprehensive coming back after so many years but my expectations were exceeded on every level. I won't leave it so long again.

"A Great Camp with Management Issues"

We had stayed at Jabulani before and found it relaxing and the elephant experience wonderful. This trip was reserved well over a year in advance and yet we didn't get the room we requested. On arrival we were asked whether we had dietary requirements and we advised our ranger of them, and also told Christo the camp manager on check-in. For the first two days we didn't have menu choices that fit them, and eventually we found out we were supposed to tell the chef too! Why ask us then? Our ranger was a nice guy with good africa credentials and some birding knowledge but he'd been in the camp only two weeks and needed to constantly refer to maps or ask directions during the drives, which detracted from the time he could look for birds. We had some good sightings there and good ele experiences, but we didn't feel we got value from paying for a private vehicle for birding. We requested a refund of the private vehicle fee, which the camp managers first declined to provide but which was eventually provided by the owner. This was a great camp under prior managers; this time it had a management problem.

"Fantastic Experience "

Me and my wife spent 3 nights at Camp Jabulani as part of our Honey Moon and we couldn't be happier. The hotel is very exclusive and we ended up having an experience much better than we were expecting. For example: - Jabulani counts with almost 20 elephants that belongs to the hotel and that you can ride and play. - Jabulani has a Hippopotamus as a pet! And you can have dinner as far as 10 meters for it. It is not dangerous and rather a fantastic experience. - Lodges are in the middle of the bush but counting with great comfort. Likely the best bedroom I ever slept in my life. Besides you can listen to the animals during the night. - Game drives are very exclusive and sometimes it is just you and the ranger looking for the animals. - Every day they take you to watch the sunset from a different location while enjoying drinks. They also take the elephants for your pure amusement. - Staff is great and very nice. The food is amazing and the chef comes to your table at every meal to explain the dishes and suggest drinks. I will definitely recommend Camp Jabulani to our friends and family. Best

"Exceeded all expectations!"

The folks at Camp Jabulani made us feel at home and the accommodations were first class. I am a very picky eater and the chef comes to your table and if you do not like what is on the menu - they offer to cook you what ever you want! Example vegetarian curry was on the menu but I hate vegetables and mentioned that I liked chicken so they offered and cooked me chicken curry instead. Ruan was our guide and he made the execursions interesting and fun. We were the first humans to see a baby rino - it still had its umbilical cord! It makes me sad that as of April you will no longer be able to ride the elephants it was a highlight. The handlers truly loved their jobs.
