"Average accommodation in a beautiful location"
This lodge is set in a lovely location with an accessible walking path down to the river, and it is most picturesque however... over all the facility is tired, rooms were clean, well air conditioned with good linen however the decor is very dated. The lodges are all seperate from reception and dining area and at night the visibility is poor, with leaf litter over all walkways and roads and garden areas overgrown and a possible hazzard. Dining area was also tired and really looked as though it needed a good clean up and overhall. Breakfast was basic self serve tea, coffee, cereal, toast, condiments and some fruit. Evening meal was limited and adquate, but not worth the cost. If you like things a bit basic and close to nature then this is your place, but at $240 a night there are probably better options. There are no spa facilities, massage therapist is able to be booked a day in advance , but will have to do massge in your room
"Great place to stay to visit Daintree"
In the middle of the Daintree this great lodge is situated. Very personal staff helping with everything you need. The restaurant is great, good selecting. The views are great, the creek is divine especially when you walk to the back. As there is no TV the large DVD collection brings you nighttime entertainment if needed.
"Dining In the Midst of a Rainforest"
Picture it---your in the midst of rainforest trees & beautiful plants in full and unique blooms and there's a place to dine. Their buffet offered several baguettes' with different toppings--all very good. The staff was very helpful with our large group of people. The dining area is a series of patio levels surrounded by the rainforest plants. A short hike on a path leads to a beautiful beach. And the location in the midst of huge trees of the rainforest is great.
"Whatever you do, don go here"
We were taken here as part of tour Daintree tour, I am being honest when I say that it spoiler our who.e experience. We arrived after ordering our meal by phone, my husband ordered fish and I ordered the steak. I should have known there was going to be issues when I wasn't asked how I would like my steak cooked. Let me add that this was advertised as a ' gourmet restaurant '. The starter was bread and oils, when we got to the counter there was no bread, I asked for bread and was told that the chef was now busy, (pardon me), I was told that she would get to us as soon as she could. Everyone else had finished when our bread arrived at the same time as our mains, my husbands fish was dry and my steak, well all I can say is that I have never had such a poor piece of beef, I can't for truthfulness call it steak. The food and the dismissive attitude of staff was beyond terrible
Heritage Lodge & Spa is central to everything in the Daintree area. My partner and I decided to get away from Cairns for a relaxing weekend in the Daintree and this was the perfect place to go. We were the only guests staying on the weekend we went, however the staff made us feel right at home, being very friendly and giving us a map of the Daintree area and marking the best places to swim, eat and sight see, allowing us to take as many DVDs from their library as we wished to watch, and providing a lovely breakfast in the mornings. We had such a relaxing stay, the room was comfortable and clean and we were treated to sightings of a green tree snake and wild Cassowary on our last morning there. The freshwater creek was a beautiful place for a swim. This is a wonderful place to stay for a weekend away.
