"Last Time !!!!!"
Even in a Hotel charging $200 a night, you should at least have housekeeping clean the bathroom and an empty the bin and replenish supplies such as tissues. Let alone when you pay $480 for a night and $580 for the other night. All that was done is a doona thrown back over the bed and replacement of 2 towels. Maybe housekeeping witnessed a clean organised room and thought, ah no need to spend more than 2 minutes on this one. I won't complain about the room being very hot because there is not much you can do with an older style building that has character but at least service the room properly.
"Pleasurable 4 day long weekend"
We stayed in the Manor House at the hotel, it was peaceful and away from the main area of the hotel. The decor was attractive with an art deco style in navy, black and white, with gold accents. The room was clean, spacious and airy. Our room was on ground level which opened to a lovely lawn with a soothing water feature, and a lovely panoramic scenery. It was very peaceful at night, and room service was timely and courteous. We also did a high tea at the hotel and it was very tasty, especially since we had the hot savoury items as well. My partner had advised we were here for my birthday weekend, and they had prepared our high tea table with rose petals strewn across it which was a lovely touch. The reception staff were very helpful with recommending good wineries to try out, and restaurants to eat at. Although, they did advise there wouldn't be a bad winery at Hunter Valley, and we couldn't agree more. All in all a wonderful stay here, next time we'll have to check out the pool and maybe do a dinner in their restaurant.
"Pleasant weekend. Good food"
Just spent the weekend there in an executive room. Location was quiet. View from room was very nice. Room was renovated but the bathroom was original / ‘late 90s’ but still fine. Food was excellent and staff were lovely too. The property itself is a little dated and the gardens and exterior could benefit from more maintenance. Overall a comfortable weekend.
This was an important weekend, and the photos looked amazing. The food was excellent and the staff are definitely very friendly but not all the staff are trained to the standard appropriate to a hotel presenting itself as 5 star. We were disappointed to find that despite our inquiries, there was in fact a Year 10 formal being held. It turned out that this was the least of our worries. On both occasions (Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon) when I went to use the Pool, I was confronted with large inflatable toys and screaming kids in an echo chamber. Since when does 5 star - and the price to match - include adult guests being excluded from one of the main features? The Pool area looks nothing like the photos. It presents as large, calm, and surrounded by lounge style seating for adult not a loud noisy children's playground. Very disappointed. We asked for a quiet room and were prepared to wait but were put in room near the Pool - the doors were open the screaming children were evident. We were only moved when we queried whether this was the best they could do. We were relocated to the Manor House - a fountain that didnt turn off all night and two air conditioning unit outside our door. This property needs to decided what it is. We loved the interior design of the room but as we cant guarantee the quality of our stay we're unlikely to return, especially that this price.
"A weekend away"
We were recently stayed at Kirkton Park for a wedding, this boutique hotel is stunning, we had a beautiful room in the Manor House. We spent 2 nights there and couldn't fault anything, the grounds are very well maintained .. simply beautiful.
