"Great view from the veranda "
The decor is great, service was pretty good and the view from the balcony is just brilliant. We only stayed for one night but would happily stay again in the future. The breakfast was pretty basic so I would go off site for breakfast. We stayed in room 14 which was a corner room and I would highly recommend asking for this room as the outdoor space is really special especially at sunrise and sunset.
"Quiet and wonderful views"
The welcoming driveway lead us to the Kirkton and it's ample grounds. We stayed in a clean and spacious, recently renovated, well equipped Grand Deluxe room with sweeping views over Polkolbin Valley and the Brokenback Ranges.(The Deluxe rooms offer views of either the rose gardens or Pokolbin Valley and the Brockenback Ranges). The bathroom is a bit outdated but everything worked fine except for a stiff basin tap which I drew their attention to. I understand they are to be updated in the near future. It was so relaxing sitting out on our balcony, listening to the sounds of the country (a lot of birdlife and a few early morning moos from local cows!) The landscape would change from a misty morning which almost hid the Ranges to stunning sunsets. We ate in the bistro one night (wood fired ovens) and enjoyed buffet breakfasts in the bright and airy conservatory. There are also many eat out options in Pokolbin, Cessnock and around the Hunter Valley. Staff were very attentive and helpful.
"Better than expected scenic getaway"
My husband and I needed a complete getaway out of Sydney. Kirkton Park well and truly exceeded our expectations in terms of service, attention to detail and atmosphere. Would highly recommend especially for couples more than a family with children. Can't wait to return.
"James Taylor on the grass concert "
We went there to see the concert and the hotel also had bus available to take us there and back (fee required) Rooms were ok older hotel but did the trick for a overnight stay Unsure if I would stay any longer In short , a pass score
My husband and I spent two lovely nights at this motel which was our first time there. The property has lovely grounds with gardens full of beautiful roses. We were upgraded to the grand suites which was outstanding, the room was large with gorgeous blue and grey décor, the balcony overlooked rolling hills and an amazing sunset in the afternoon, if you can afford the grand suites its worth the extra charge, now that I have stayed there I would only want to stay in those rooms. We had dinner on our first night in a beautifully decorated room with a fireplace which kept the room cosy and warm. The menu is small but there is something for everyone and the food was delicious. Breakfast was great with a variety of hot and cold food, I spoilt my husband on a send day in the afternoon with a high tea which was set up in the sun room overlooking the fountain and rows of roses, our table was decorated with rose petals and large roses a real art form. As my husband required specific food requirements I informed the motel the morning of the high tea of this which was looked at with high attention, we had a lovely variety of sweet and savoury food, bubbly and teas, the scones were very generous that we could not eat everything on the tiers of plates that we took a plate of food to our room to enjoy later that night. We would highly recommend this motel and we are looking forward to our next stay there again soon.
