Wananavu Beach Resort

Over Wananavu Beach Resort

"RakiRaki Dive days"

The all inclusive proved to be a very good choice offering up an all around nice Fijian experience, replete with kava and music and the diving was top notch fun. We dove 12/7-8 with Angel, Sami and team and others from afar and thoroughly enjoyed the time above water too. I would note that although the emphasis would always be on diving the Bligh Waters I actually recommend the more local dives off Sailstone Reef. Add RakiRaki to your Fiji dive plan! Againt, hanks Angel and Shawn!

"What a Fabulous Stay !"

What a find, we had requested for an early check in, knowing it might not be possible, however upon arriving we were told our room was ready, thank you so much Sereti, after flying in from Australia on a late flight and arriving early morning the next day and than driving 3 hours from Nadi, it was just a perfect start to our stay. We had requested 5 x single beds, which was easily accommodated. The room was very spacious and clean. Beautiful hibiscus flowers in our villa. Basic kitchenette, bathroom and toilet facilities. We had a big deck with BBQ facilities as well. We made use of the pool and walked down to the beach which was so clear and beautiful. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant was fantastic. The chef came out to meet our group and was fantastic enough to cook a special dish for us which we were craving. Thank you to La and everyone who went above and beyond for our group. At the end of the night, the Restaurant/Bar Team sang a Fijian song titled “Isa Isa” farewell song to those who were leaving the next day, beautifully sung. So far in our travels, the team here at Wananavu Beach Resort were absolutely amazing, all interaction with staff was friendly, easy going and accomodating. My friends and I felt so welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much everyone and we can’t wait to come back.

"Would not recommend"

Room – F There was fresh blood on our sheets the first night. We arrived around 9pm due to our flight being delayed and then the only road to the hotel being shut down, it getting dark driving on narrow roads, and pouring down rain. We were immediately ushered to dinner as it would close at 10pm and by the time we saw the blood on the sheets, there was no one to contact at the resort as all of the staff had left. We threw the nasty sheets on the floor and slept laying on beach towels the first night. Food – D Food is terrible and it’s the same menu EVERY day. There are several options on the menu and we tried a bunch but it was not good at all. There is only one restaurant at the resort and there are no restaurants on the island that you would want to go to (they are filthy and will likely make you sick) so there are no other options. Oh, and they charge standard US prices for the food at the resort. Location - C 2.5-3 hour drive from the airport and main port on a winding 1 lane each way road in disrepair. There is nothing nearby to see outside of the resort, no restaurants to visit, no cultural sights, nothing. Only redeeming quality is that it is on the beach so that is nice but you can get that anywhere. Grounds – B- The grounds are quite pretty and manicured. The beach is fake with 1 inch of sand on top of clay/concrete so looks pretty but you wouldn’t lay out on it. Staff – A Very friendly staff and very helpful Additional notes: Internet was $15/hr! Also, we had to leave 2 days into a 5 day stay due to an illness and the advice from the resort that we should not go to a hospital on the island unless there is absolutely no other option. We flew home and the hotel refused to refund any of our money. They first blamed the website we booked through but upon returning, the website was willing to refund the money but needed confirmation from the hotel. Many calls to the hotel later and we find out that the hotels “cancellation policy” states no refunds. Disappointing that we couldn’t come to an amicable solution especially since they didn’t even have us in their system when we arrived even though we booked months ahead.

"Amazing Diving and Service"

We recently returned from a 3 week vacation to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Tahiti. We enjoyed a lot of scuba diving in those locations, but I wanted to call out the dive shop at Wananavu as the best I've experienced. Shawn and Angel have managed the shop since January 2017, and I think have it dialed in to provide an optimal experience. We had a day where other divers canceled and it was just two of us, but Angel encouraged us to go diving even though I'm sure the staff and gas for the boat cost more than what we paid. On another day when it was raining and other divers canceled, Angel sent the two of us on the bigger boat that had more protection even though I'm sure it was more costly. Shawn and Angel made sure we got to dive many diverse sites in the Bligh Strait, and we felt like they treated us the way they would want to be treated. Very customer focused, competent, and generous. We would love to dive with them again.

I stayed at Wananavu with my mom and son. The resort was absolutely beautiful. Clean and friendly staff as well. We had fans in our villa and coffee maker with a fridge. Very spacious. The gardens were very well kept as well. Breakfast buffet was very good as well..wide variety of fruits..muffins and complete omelette station. I will definitely stay here again. It's a hidden gem.
