Wananavu Beach Resort

Over Wananavu Beach Resort

"Lovely"

   22-05-2018
lovely place to stay if you are mobile - lots of steep walking to our Beach front Bure, our Bure was beautiful - just a mission to get there. No Phone or contact with reception. First reception greeting a little unfriendly however the rest of the staff were amazing!. Expensive eating - breakfast very limited with orange cordial not really acceptable. Lunch was excellent but very restricted as to when you can get food, Dinner menu again limited but food served was lovely. Be very aware there is a lot of steep paths.

"In for early drink and back for lunch"

   21-05-2018
on our walk from the house and sight seeing on the way we stopped for a drink. furthered our walk then went back for lunch. the grounds are beautiful and right on the beach. much more expensive than when we were there 10 yrs ago . they are way out on a limb so you are caught really . we have stayed at the Resort twice while we were building our home which was on Shambu's drive and this time it was to close the chapter and move on to another. found the lady who served us lacked friendliness and the Fijian smile. tried to be friendly and smile but she obviously worked for the income and not for who was paying her existence. everyone else was lovely.

"Amazing wedding experience and honeymoon"

   01-05-2018
After long flights and landing in the precursory rain storms of Cyclone Keni, we arrived at the resort to a welcoming staff. They helped us get settled in and brought our bags to the rooms in the rain. We didn't know it yet, but we were in for a treat. My soon to be wife and I met with the wedding / event coordinator Keleni and discussed some minor details regarding our wedding. This was nice to have the attention to detail and not leave things to the last minute. As we familiarized ourselves with the resort, we began to choose details of our wedding (location of ceremony, where the ceremony will take place etc) and the staff happily made it happen. Keleni did an amazing job once we were there in helping us coordinate our wedding ceremony and following dinner / reception. Every detail was carefully attended to and they went above and beyond our expectations. We asked to have the neck breakers ( see photos) put back on the alter as we saw in previous wedding photos and loved the local look and flair they added to the wedding site. They happily put them back up and the alter looked amazing for our big day. Flowers and lighting were amazing for the reception as well. The staff really did take great pride in decorating for our wedding and made it an amazing night for everyone. We had the "lovo" feast for our reception which was nothing short of amazing as well. Speaking of food, the food at this resort was amazing. Quite possibly the best resort food I have had while traveling outside of the USA. Yes, the breakfast was simple but it was adequate and free. Portions for dinner could be small but were always delicious and affordable. The staff was one of the best parts of the trip. After a few days most of them knew us by name. The great thing about this resort is it is not huge. You never have to wait in long lines or compete with large groups. Everything is very accessible, relaxing, and fun. Many of the staff members would joke with you and have fun every night while serving you dinner or drinks. I liked this because I don't like being waited on or being a pain in the butt so it was nice to feel like they enjoyed being there and we all had fun together. Keleni, Aliti, Mere, Jess, Makita (massage therapist), Moses, Shawn, Angel, among many others were all great. Shawn and Angel run the scuba diving area of the resort and took out a group, many of which were first time divers and were extremely patient and helpful. Despite rough waters and moderate visibility (thanks to the cyclone) it was an amazing experience that will be remembered for years to come. One of my friends was especially thankful for Shawn when his hat blew off and into the ocean. Shawn without hesitation dove off the boat and retrieved the hat. Small gesture, but meant a lot. Shawn also happened to be leaving when some of our wedding group was headed home. Shawn accompanied my friends and family to dinner and treated them to a nice sushi feast before catching their flights home. Again, quite a gesture, which really made you feel like family after staying at this resort. The rooms are clean, simple, and the beds are comfortable. The beachfront honeymoon bure is very large and we had a lot of fun hosting friends when the cyclone came through and played card games. The private pool and outdoor shower are really nice. Every excursion we went on was a lot of fun and priced right. I highly recommend the trip into town to jump or slide down the heart shaped water fall pool. You get to see an amazing village, meet local Fijians who are genuine and friendly as can be. It was an honor to be allowed to visit their village and share some Kava with them. The items we bought there will be cherished for a long time as a memory of this amazing trip. Overall, I highly recommend Wananavu Beach Resort for your wedding or vacation. The resort is a perfect combination of fun and peaceful. They offer activities for everyone in your group to be entertained and the food and drinks are tasty. A big VINAKA to the entire staff at Wananavu, thank you for going above and beyond and making our wedding special. Everyone in our group had a blast and were genuinely sad to leave! "BULA!" "Kava time!" "No kava, no dinner!" We can't wait to come back and see you again. Chris Wood and Penny Harris Wood

"Beautiful views in a lovely environment."

We had a beach bure - it was beautifully appointed and clean. Service was excellent and amenities were great. We found the breakfast selection a little limited and the orange juice was obviously a cordial mixture (not great) but otherwise we were impressed with the restaurant food. Would recommend this resort for a romantic getaway.

"Awesome "

It's off the beaten track somewhat, but that's the appeal. Well appointed rooms right on the beach and the people here are really nice and friendly. Worth the travel from Nadi to spend a little time in paradise.
