"Back after 7 years "

My partner an I recently spent a couple of nights at the Museum while on a road trip for our wedding anniversary. I'd last stayed here in 2009 for work. Right now, there are some renovations going on, so the odd corridor has signage up, protective sheeting down, and a little work dust. None of that detracts from the excellent rooms, nor from the attentive service from staff. On our overnight stays inbound from and outbound to home, we were looked after with dedication. Staff are knowledgeable about close by restaurants, ready to help with a coffee or directions, and very friendly. I've no doubt I'd be happy to return once more, this time the gap will hopefully be less than seven years.

"Great location, but got bumped from our booked room"

This was our 3rd stay, and for the second time we got moved from our booked harbor facing balcony suite to an apartment. Felt like a disappointing downgrade and felt much like any hotel room. The first time we stayed, we didn't get our booked room either (not a balcony room, but a specific # room we had on our honeymoon...) The apartment had no opening window. The a/c only had 1 fan speed (turbo...) so it was too noisy at night, but stifling if the a/c was off. The location is second to none, and I love all the art pieces around. The reception has just finished a major redecorate and looks fresh. However, after 3 trips there I think we'll try a different hotel next time.

"Good, but not great"

Love the artwork throughout, love the staff, love the location....but for upwards of $300 a night the apartments are getting tatty (loose bathroom door handle, sagging cabinetry) and ours wasn't as clean as I would expect (mugs complete with residue from the last guest, and unspeakable things stuck under the toilet seat). Check in was also a little chaotic - after driving through the entrance a couple of times searching in vain for somewhere to leave the car for valet parking I was told to park 'by the glass'...on the no parking lines. Not a big issue, but a few signs would save a lot of confusion whilst the construction is going on out front. Staff are fantastic - friendly and efficient, without being intrusive. Only misses an 'excellent' as I expect a higher standard of room for the money.

"Under construction"

After reading the reviews before booking we were a little dissapointed with our stay. The hotel was under major construction which we were not made aware of when we booked. On the up side location was amazing and we really enjoyed the pool. We were also a little dissapointed in our room so not sure we would stay there again.

"Perfect Location, Nice Room, Very Good Service"

Overall, the hotel is in a great location for easy walking access to museum, art galleries, places to eat, bars, shopping, grocery store, tourist stuff, waterfront/ marina. The hotel has rooms as well as apartments that can be used as rooms; we were assigned an apartment as our room which was a good size with a small kitchenette, washer/dryer and fridge. The room was very quiet with nice bedding, very good air conditioning, decent seating area. The view was not much, it was essentially facing the other tower of the hotel with rooms; they do have rooms with a beautiful view of the waterfront but you need to ask for it. The bathroom was a decent size that maximized the limited space, but had very little counter/work space and the shower was somewhat awkward and water went everywhere; the lighting needs to be better/brighter. The attribute that made a very positive impression on us were two specific staff members: a young woman named Lynna who checked us in as well as later helped my wife figure out how to get her clothes dry after washing them in the washer located in the room. She was also at the desk when we checked out, I am left thinking she must have been there for days without leaving but was very professional, respectful and guest service oriented. The other staff member named Tim/Tom who came to our room to help us figure out how to use the washer/dryer, rather than just explaining, he actually stayed to make sure it was working properly so we wouldn't run into other problems.
