"Modern times but colonial ambiance"
It was always a pleasure to walk back into this hotel after a long day visiting temples far & wide. The staff were exceptionally polite, some not great with the English language however in the end it didn't really matter. Our room was spacious, clean & quiet even though we over looked the from entrance. The pool was the peace de resistance. Tranquil surroundings of lush greenery, clean clear waters & a huge size plus jacuzzi made for a super relaxing afternoon after a hot day on the road. Didn't partake of the dining facility in the evening however the breakfast was more than adequate with a huge selection of food for all nationalities & freshly cooked. Well situated for walking to the markets etc a bonus. Highly recommend this hotel.
"Disappointing – made it through 2 out of 9 nights booked."
Given the mostly great reviews and location, my sister and I excitedly booked this hotel for our recent 9 night stay in Siem Reap. Unfortunately, per title, we only made it through 2 nights. We complained on our second day due to multitude of issues (see list below), and were 'upgraded' to a slightly nicer / larger room, only to discover it was swarming with mosquitos. We then requested to be moved again, only to end up in a version of the same room we were previously in. If you're expecting a comfortable 5 star hotel, I would advise you look elsewhere. We were sorely disappointed. This place is 3 star at best. After two depressing nights, we ended up moving to a great hotel and the rest of our stay in Siem Reap was fantastic. Cons: – Overall decor and facilities outdated and stuffy. – Poor cleanliness overall (within rooms, bathroom in particular). – Air-con in room extremely loud, even on low mode - very annoying. – Beds very uncomfortable, felt like a thin mattress on top of a wooden table (no give at all). – Breakfast was absolutely terrible, worst hot buffet spread I've come across over many years of travel. – Staff were disinterested and rude at times (impression they are talking about you / laughing at your expense every time you spoke to them or walked through lobby, even prior to our complaints). – Entire hotel lacked ambience, felt stifled; terrible vibe. – Mosquitos in rooms. – Bad wifi. – I can go on.. While the location was good / close to town centre, it not enough to make up for the many other shortcomings during our stay. You're better off staying marginally further out and paying for a tuk tuk to town, as we did from our new hotel (which was awesome).
"Nice Hotel & Good services"
I stayed here for 4d3n , family with babies. I would say the hotel is luxury and nice ambience. + The staff really good with their services specially during breakfast, the chef on duty morning attended us everyday during our stays and cooked special for us due to we are muslim family & need halal food. We really happy with his services and the staff also help a lot during the breakfast. The housekeeping also help a lot, all our request they attend immediately. - English not very fluent, hard to make them understand and they a bit slow to understand.
This hotel is very colonial looking and had lots of wood with high ceilings. It is a good location and feels safe. The night markets are about 10 minutes away. There is some bars close by. Lovely food and staff excellent. The room was large and overlooked the fabulous pool. They have their own tuk tuk drivers at entrance. We hired one fir a 2 hour tour which ended up 3 hours the driver was very knowledgeable and showed us all around at a bargain price if $10 really enjoyed it. Would recommend this hotel
"Lovely hotel. Excellent location."
We stayed here 4 nights and it was a pleasant stay. The rooms have aged a bit and are in need of refurbishment but otherwise, the facilities, location, staff, nice pool more than make up for it. Breakfast is a nice spread, a good mix of continental as well as Asian. The staff was happy to prepare breakfast boxes if you were leaving early for the sunrise at Angkor wat. There's a mall bang opposite which has a huge supermarket. Pub street is 10 minutes away or 2$ by tuk tuk (which we used when the kids were tired of walking). I would definitely recommend this place.
