"Amazing staff!"

   15-01-2017
We stayed here for a week over New Year. Would strongly recommend. The staff were fantastic, and went out of their way to make it a memorable stay. The scuba diving and instructors were fantastic, and the kitchen staff and waiters, led by the excellent head chef Akamba were fantastic. The water bungalows were very spacious and the spa treatments are also a must. Would definitely go back.

"Clean with friendly staff but no pool"

   09-01-2017
-- The Positives -- 1. The resort island is very well kept and the overwater bungalow is very spacious and clean. 2. The staff is very nice, and helpful. 3. The snorkeling gear and boat ride is included, and it is well worth it. 4. The food, which was part of the all inclusive, was really good with lots of varieties. 5. We were there over new years, and the food spread and the gala dinner was spectacular. It was a lot of fun and they went above and beyond. 6. Spa is very nice, and our couples massage was amazing! 7. Location is amazing with beauty all around. It does feel like paradise. -- The Negatives -- 1. They try to upsell you a lot and that was annoying. We had to firmly say no and then they got the point. 2. There is no pool--which really really sucks. With such beautiful surroundings, it would be perfect to have a pool. 3. The managers would yell at the staff right in front of the guests, which was kind of annoying. Whether they were having conversations, or just being told what to do, they should really just do this not in the main dining area. 4. No fault of their resort, but some of the guests were extremely loud and obnoxious. I wish the resort, as part of their welcoming speech, would just give a gentle reminder to the guests to keep their voices low during the afternoon hours when everyone is just relaxing.

"Overall a very decent place"

   07-01-2017
we just returned having had 4 nights here with our 3 kids.....3rd trip to the Maldives and first to this resort. We got a pretty decent deal through Expedia so overall for value for money this rates highly. It is not the most luxurious resort by any stretch but for families that's a plus in my book. We had 2 water villas which are basic but comfortable. The food was generally excellent with good selection of different styles mainly Chinese/European/Indian. Drinks were ok and I noticed very early that tipping the waiting and bar staff made a considerable difference in the service received. Location great and snorkelling very good. The kids all had diving trips and we used the spa. All very good but exceptionally expensive. The island itself is small and exceptionally well maintained. The downside for us though is the Shallow waters for most of the day when the tide is out. To cool off you have to walk a long way out and it's not the softest sand in the world. It's not the hotels fault of course but why they do not have a Swimming pool to alleviate this I cannot understand. They certainly have the space.....we thourough;y enjoyed walking along the pier to get to deeper water but after a while it becomes a bit repetitive having to do this.... Overall we had a great time here and came home feeling recharged....we were lucky we had amazing weather every day. We have yet to return to any resort in the Maldives mainly because there are so many to choose from. Hakuraa hura certainly offers great value for money but the beach/Low tide and lack of a Swimming pool would probably stop me returning.

"first world problems"

   06-01-2017
most things about this place are great staff were friendly on arrival but the guy giving us the run down of the island and this was not just myself or my wife but everybody else that got off the plane we could not understand a word he said on top of that he was the one in charge of reception and his attitude was not positive, attitude of the rest of the staff was hit and a miss, towels in our room were only folded and put back where they were originally they were not replaced, theres a brown sludge floating across the water at 3pm everyday which smells like kerosene. Apart from that rant the location is fantastic the snorkelling is great But they try and sting you for more money like seafood bbq night, cocktail night....... why cant these things be included in the price and i can tell you its not cheap to stay here.

"Simple and basic with stunning views all around!"

   06-01-2017
We were recommended Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa as part of our honeymoon package. We had a destination wedding in Rajasthan (India) and wanted to keep our honeymoon within close proximity. We went to Sri Lanka first and then the Maldives. The resort and Island were stunning - although we realized very soon that this resort was designed more for families than for honeymooners. It had most of what you would expect from this level resort. We stayed in an Overwater bungalow. Decor was very basic and simple, and sometimes came across as a little dated with the dark wood interiors. Despite this, it was immaculately clean and spacious. As honeymooners you receive a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit basket (we received our fruit basket 2 days into our holiday). We were on an All Inclusive package. Local alcoholic drinks were inclusive within the package from the hours of 0900am-0000am - thereafter you had to pay for them. This seemed really odd, as we met some great couples and stayed at the bar until 0300-0400am - not very cost effective considering the amount already paid at this resort. Choice of alcohol menu was restricted and we found that we had to pay extra for basic cocktails and spirits (classed as premium brands). However, the huge plus is the bar area and layout, we spotted some gorgeous fish including some sharks and rays! Another downside had to be the Wifi - it is chargeable and is not cheap! Really annoying as we expected this would have been included on an All Inclusive package. Myself and my husband had no choice but to buy this each for the whole week. The buffet restaurant food was amazing! Huge choice every single time - spoiled for choice, and caters to all diets. Staff were always very helpful. We relaxed for the first 4 days and then decided to get some excursions in. We were suggested the Island Hopping at $38 per person - complete waste of time and money. This should not be an excursion, as the boat takes you to 2 neighboring local islands and there is nothing to see apart from a few souvenir shops. However we did meet a couple on this excursion that recommended the dolphin watching, so we decided to book that in the very next day after some morning snorkeling. Snorkeling locally is free and by all means completely worth it! there is a session at 0930am and 1500pm every day and is a must! The dolphin watching was also a winner - breathtaking! Our Dhoni boat was surrounded by 50-60 dolphins, and was an unforgettable experience - well worth the money. We were given discounted rates for within the Spa - use the couples voucher! it gives you $100 dollars off the package and completely worth the pampering and experience. The Balinese massage was just what we needed at the end of a beautiful trip. Overall a very memorable and pleasant experience - views are stunning no matter what part of the Island you are walking along, and the never ending sea life is perfect for anyone that loves the ocean.
