"Good Resort to spend family time"
I spent 3 nights in this resort, with my wife and my kid. ChecK-In --> it was quite fast, and the employees at the front desk very friendly and helpful Parking --> It is outside, just in front and beside the resort's entrance. There is enough space to park and i've seen/heard nothing about the safety Room --> My room was a very good one, recently refurbished. I had a king deluxe room, at the lobby floor. Bathtub inside, Tv with few cable channels, HDMI plug (for those who want to bring and connect their computer) Water, coffee, tea, water boiler but no iron board (Need to ask if you need it) The A/C, even OFF, is still cold... so be careful to don't get sick Breakfast --> In my opinion, enough choices and always free tables (even during the week-end) You can sit outside or inside. Swimming Pool --> 2 kinds: 1 for the kids, which is really dirty and full of kids and adults! The water is disgusting. That's why i did not allowed my kid to swim in. The second swimming pool is for teenagers and adults, deep and large enough to have a good swim. The towels are available in the towel shop, against the towel coupon given during the check-in. Outside --> Few activities for the kids (Feeding rabbits, electrical cars, playground...) Beach --> The sand is good enough but the water is far from the shore. Moreover, it looks brown... so no confidence to swim far away. Kids Club -->Many activities were cancelled due to "maintenance" Moreover, the club itself is equipped with very old toys, video games... So, no point to send kids there. Gym & Sauna --> Did not tried but look good and clean. Free of charge! Just register! Restaurants --> We tried the restaurant in the ground floor and the chinese one at the lobby floor. Regarding the one in the ground floor, it is the same used for brekfast. During evening time, you have the choice of "a la carte" or buffet. we choose the buffet, for 92 RM per person. Good choices of food, unlimited barbecue sea food, but only water as a drink. Since we were sitting inside, we were not allowed to order some wine. For alcoholic beverages, you must be sitting outside. Regarding the chinese restaurant, very good food. Just try the dim sun during lunch time... delicious. Hope it will help you if you considering this place for vacation.
"Lovely Beach but a bit run down"
We went to this hotel because the Hyatt is still under refurbishment and it was what we felt to be the best alternative. Everything is a bit shabby and tired looking but the place was clean. We had to ask for more water, towels and even for the rooms to be done during the course of our stay. At some point in the past, the decision had been made to reduce the amount of lighting in the rooms which was a bit of a problem for my parents but it was OK for me, so standards aren’t quite what we are used to. That said, the staff were very welcoming, obliging and the pool side area and beach was very nice. The breakfast was an experience. There was a curry station, noodles station and egg station, and even a waffle station manned, and there was cereal, fruit, etc. I wanted to try noodles one morning and the staff were really helpful explaining what to do. I did hear minor complaints from some other European guests who felt the continental side of breakfast was limited but there was so much else to choose from. The only critisism from me was that beverages were not supplied by the staff, you helped yourself to the warm, brown, liquid. I had a massage and treatment in the spa which was really good value and the stay was and worthy of note. All in all, the experience was alright, but I look forward to the re opening of the Hyatt.
"Hotel Property Nice, Room is Horrible"
The Spa was cold, the worse part of my stay is this bed and shower. My mattress is super hard and my shower does not drain nor is the water hot. I'm so upset because I have to stay her I cannot switch hotels or I would. I had to call to the front desk to get an extra blanket to lay on top of because this mattress is so hard. And I am having a hard time trying to understand how this is a 4-star hotel with no hot water???
"Cheap Chinese food in the resort"
The Blossom Chinese Restaurant offered a very cheap, quality and delicious food during their promotion period. The "Chen Dai Sek" (Cantonese dialect, mean worth to eat) at RM38/pax, selected 45 dishes on the menu (items: soup, dessert, seafood, meats & poultry, vegetables, eggs, rice & noodles). They served fresh prawns, squids, fish). Really very worth! Another promotion was the Blossom set menu with 7 items at RM28/pax. They also served delicious dim sum. So far this was the best and cheap Chinese food I ever had in the high grade restaurant.
This is our forth or fifth holiday in Swiss Garden. The kids enjoyed their stay here. Rooms has been upgraded and the surrounding is well kept. Beach not so nice due to strong wind, best to go in May-Sept where is beach is superb. The first day we were here, the clean the room in the evening when they should do it in the morning. Breakfast is reasonable, they have local and western. The night entertainment with the piano at the lobby makes the place very lively at night. Only thing they dont serve slice cakes anymore for guest to enjoy while listening to night music, i wish they bring that back again. Overall niceand enjoyble stay as always
