"Awesome hotel with awesome people!"

I am soooo impressed by this little Gem of a hotel, I would go back in a heartbeat! It's an oasis out of the hustle and bustle of town, and the perfect place to unwind and relax! The staff are truly amazing, always going out of their way to help you! They have great tourist outings which they offer for free so we took these opportunities when we could. One of them they call Travel like a local. A very interesting experience and well worth doing. You get to travel on the circular train, a local bus and a trishaw! We also visited the markets on their tours so I would advise anyone to check what the hotel offers before spending money on a tour guide. The hotel also has meet and greet evenings where you get a chance to meet over free drinks etc Their breakfast is the best I've ever had in any hotel, wow! I would also recommend their curry night to get an opportunity to try many varieties with the best and most interesting salads you will ever see. You can also have fried ice cream! They have a wonderful little shop in the hotel where you can buy wines, foods and all sorts of gifts and Meemee, the owner was wonderful!!! One of the things I loved eating with cocktails were the crispy butter beans given complimentary with drinks, so crunchy and moreish! I would like to thank all the staff and Managers, for such a memorable stay! One more point I must mention is their beds are superb and the pillows are absolutely outstanding, simply the best I've come across to date. Sleep quality and room comfort the best ever!!!

"Tea time great place!"

Lovely oasis in the middle of hectic Yangon! Great place to unwind and just have a nice cocktail and snack! We had concktails and some appetisers and they were all delicious! Great old wooden construction and attention to detail..lovely!definitely will go back!

"now we know how the Brits lived"

wonderful venue. Excellent caring staff who go out of their way to please . Rooms more than adequate, lot of amenities. Breakfast buffet first rate. Nice quiet surroundings. Pool and lounge chairs perfect. Dinners were very good and choice of western or asian

"Gorgeous property, best service ever!!!"

Would give this place seven stars for flawless service, with complex requests executed with grace, a smile and never a reminder required. How do they do it? But we'll come to that later. First, the property itself -- a tranquil oasis, so centrally located in Yangon! The mosquito netted beds, simple, classy teak furniture, the pool, the large, cool verandahs, all in this graceful set of linked units, were just lovely. The bathrooms were spacious, well supplied with Aigner toiletries, and although the fittings and fixtures could use a bit of updating, they were clean and perfectly functional, with large rainheads in the huge tub/showers. The breakfast spread was fabulous with Burmese and Western fare, again beautifully laid out, with things like jamon iberico and the most delicious Shan honey yogurts that were a surprise, as well as the usual eggs and waffles made to order. But what truly sets the place apart is the service. Sue at the front desk deserves a special mention. She dealt with the frozen food I had brought from overseas by refrigerating it instantly, refreezing the gel packs and repacking everything in the cooler for the next leg of the trip perfectly, all without follow-up or reminder. And everyone at the front desk knew us and knew what we needed as our departure time changed several times and the frozen food had to be kept ready just-in-time. Amazing! In another instance, I needed wrapping paper and tape to wrap a gift and a Sunday 9 pm call to the front desk resulted in Pokhya coming up to the room with beautiful silk paper and wrapping the gift and painstakingly fashioning a rosette to complement it, and refusing to even be tipped for it. And everything done with such grace. If I have one criticism, it is perhaps that the yoga mats need to be replaced, although the yoga class itself was excellent, and packed with local expats, with whom the property is clearly popular. Overall, a delightful stay and one I would highly recommend. Well worth the price.

"Lovely hotel"

A friend and I spent our last 2 nights in Burma at the Governor's Residence. It is a comfortable well run hotel with attentive staff. The rooms are large with effective ac though also opening windows. A large attractive swimming pool open 24 hours. The food was good although one complaint would be that it was expensive. Probably not as central as other hotels but in a quiet location near many embassies, as we had a guide and driver the location worked well for us. (Although Yangon traffic is awful!). I would recommend this hotel.
