"Sprawling area for resort like hotel as a base for the golden triangle in Habarana "
We spent two nights in this property as a base for doing Sigiriya, Pollonuawara and other places . The hotel has an excellent property spread over acres of land and constructed in the form of cottages . The swimming pool is great but it has no gym .On the downside, the reception team is not efficient. They are very slow in their work . They are not professional.... stopped our car after exit and asked for wrong key and room number . The food spread is huge but food is average . The quality of lamb chops is inferior so are the cheese and fruits laid at the breakfast buffet . I feel the price is very steep as well . The rooms , especially the superior rooms are fitted with air conditioners that are not sufficient for cooling the rooms adequately. Also stray dogs come into the dining area and the hotel does nothing . Not sure whether these are carriers of rabies ! I feel the hotel has a lot of potential and they must look into the fine points to claim their position as a star hotel in this area .
"Favourite hotel in Sri Lanka"
Wow what wonderful place to stay when first arriving in Sri Lanka. Beautiful grounds, fantastic staff, large swimming pool, spacious rooms and natural wildlife. The best buffet style food we had whilst in Sri Lanka, lots of choice and various stations each day so always plenty of variety. We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay so enjoyed lunch one day which we paid for and good range of drinks at the bar. The room attendants were fabulous and always left the rooms immaculate. Staff at the reception and in the restaurant were also brilliant and were always quick to help us. Do beware of the monkeys as we witnessed them pinching somebody's t.-shirt haha! We were sad to leave. One thing- there seemed to be shortage of sun loungers during the late afternoon as people arrived back from busy days out. Absolutely recommend for you to stay here.
We stayed two days at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana to visit Mineriya Nationalpark. The hotel leaves no wishes unfulfilled. From checkout to the spacious park to room design and equipment (safe, a/c distance to bed, symmetry, balconies or terrace) , great pool with sun beds and pool service (pool shower broken at the time, but in repair), friendly stuff, amazing breakfast buffet- everything was perfect. We had dinner outside the resort, within walking distance on the street. We booked our safari individually (left side is a small shop with water etc and a friendly owner) We also got a driver to Negombo there for a fair price. The only thing missing was some more information on offered spa treatments, but well. We loved our stay and recommend the place any time!
We spent 3nights here as a part of a 13 day tour of Sri Lanka. As soon as we stepped into reception I knew I would love this hotel. We were greeted with a cold drink and towel, check in took 5 minutes then taken to our room. The lodge was large and clean but maybe a little tired looking. This didn't effect our stay as fitted with fridge, tea ,coffee and immaculately clean. We headed straight to the pool witch was empty,as soon as we approached a sun bed the pool boy came over with mattresses and towels. The pool is set in amazing grounds which lead down to a large lake. Staff at this hotel always had a smile on there face and nothing was too much, food was lovely with plenty of choice. We developed a great relationship with some of the staff we ended up chatting in the bar about families and Sri Lanka . The absolute highlight of this hotel was the setting and wildlife, over the 3 days we saw monkeys...loads of them by the pool, monitor lizard, giant tree squirrels,a snake small squirrels are everywhere and we even nad a small gecko in our room. When I come back to Sri Lanka this hotel is top of my list
"Guess what? Consumers are more educated😀"
We wanted to stay a night here. Like most people I called the cinnamon reservations line. After leaving a message on the line someone from their reservations called me back. The price for room only was Rs 24000.00 Half board was Rs 26000.00 (one meal and breakfast) Full board was Rs 30000.00 (all three meals) I went and checked on bookings.com and room only was Rs 8220.00 after taxes. Paying for dinner and breakfast comes to Rs 16000.00 for a couple. So here is the thing. John Keels the owners of ALL cinnamon brand hotels may think that consumers don't understand basic math. Sorry, we are more educated than you think. The only star I give is for the hard working staff who are possibly exploited in a big way by this company. The poor has absolutely no voice in this country.
