"really, this place is a gem"
I have been staying here many times over the past 5 or 6 years; it was not new then, and generally in se asia hotels age badly and with it goes the management. the rooms while old are aging gracefully, and are equipped with everything you need. I had minor issues with the front desk previously, but I noticed a distinct improvement in effort and every level this week. I felt this 4 star hotel is striving for 5 star service. this time I tried the pool/sauna/ spa, and and gym... pretty good and a nice option. wifi is not great, but in line with many places in Thailand. all in all, great value for money
"Rude front desk who knows nothing about hospitality"
The hotel is old and tired. Rooms had cockroaches, wifi signal moody. As I reached the hotel, there was nobody to help with the luggage and had to haul it myself all the way to the room. Absolutely no smiles or interest at the front desk, I had specifically asked for a smoking room but they just shrugged and said sorry. The front desk was a total mess, they were talking among themselves rather loudly in Thai and were very lousy in general and made as you feel as if your were not standing there. There was a Oriental couple who had to go up and down the elevator thrice as the key card seemed to have an issue and yet the lazy front desk team told them to keep trying. I was given the key card and asked to find the room on my own (I HAD TO EVEN ASK WHICH FLOOR) with no one to help with the luggage, let alone showing the room. Now, i have been to many hotels and never experienced this kind of attitude even at budget hotels. Stayed in Salil Hotel on Soi 8 a few days back, it is a far far better place and way cheaper than this sorry-state so-called Hotel. As my booking was done in a hurry at the last minute I failed to check if the room had breakfast (didn't have a hard copy), so called up the reception in the morning and asked if breakfast was complimentary, to which the front office staff clearly replied "YES SIR INCLUDED" but to my dismay on check-out I was presented with a bill of nearly 500 baht for an absolutely lousy buffet breakfast with poor spread and no taste---------. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS, there are much better places around with better value for money and hotels that know how to treat their guest right as I am regular Bangkok visitor. This is a genuine review and all the things I mentioned above are what I had to go through. I don't know how this hotel has some good reviews---- may be they were good in the past but the current state is pathetic to say the least. The only pros was the Asst. front desk manager who I met in the morning (Mr. Bhuwanai) who was very apologetic and offered me a discount on the next stay but nevertheless I am never going back to this horrible hotel. To add to the woes, on check-out I had asked the concierge to keep my bags for a while as I needed to do some shopping and guess what---- he just pointed me to a corner and told me to "go keep it there". Serious lack of hospitality and guests relationship training!!!!
"Old and tired. And the hotel wasn't great either."
Poor WiFi signal and very little bandwidth even when connected. Dirty water from the taps in the bathroom half the time I was there. Nice looking swimming pool with water so dirty it was unusable. Clean and well decorated though slightly tired and dated feel. Bedding was too small for the bed. Very poor soundproofing between rooms - conversations, and more, from the adjoining room were clearly audible. Great location although the passage between Soi 2 and Soi 4 is currently closed and will be for at least two more weeks (until approx mid May 2017).
"Lovely place to stay "
Wasn't too sure about what we were getting before entering the hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Nice reception area and bar area, reception staff were lovely as were the concierge. Our room was nice, nice size for a 3 night stay, bed was big and comfy and shower was good too. We had a nice view out our room. Breakfast was ok, not a huge choice but we ate well each morning. Near some nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. I'd definitely stay here again.
"Nice Location and Quiet"
I stayed here for about a week. It is near the Ploenchit Center Shopping Mall off of Sukumvit Road. The hotel is just far enough off of Sukumvit Road to be quiet at night but not too far to walk. I had a Grand Premier Room. The room was excellent. The breakfast was good. The hotel also has a nice pool and exercise room. Located on the same floor as the pool and exercise room was a business center. The business center was basic but had computers, printer, and copier. Wifi was included with the room. The speed of the wifi was good not excellent but good. All in all a nice place to stay that is close to Sukumvit Road but quiet.
