Over Paradee Resort & Spa

"Top notch! Paradise for a perfect break to re-coup, where all your needs are met."
A totally relaxing experience in a superbly-run hotel with courteous staff and great attention to detail. I needed a holiday to re-coup after a family bereavement and a busy time running my business in India, and my husband organised this trip through Audley Travel in the U.K. The service was faultless and charming, and we loved the manager who came and spoke to each of the guests at breakfast every day. A delightful man! The resort is situated at a 'pinch-point' in the south of Ko Samet so that a short stroll (or ride in a club car) takes you to the east-facing private beach for sunrise and a day of swimming and relaxing. We loved a huge peepal tree which gave us natural shade all day plus the delight of feeding a family of birds who knew exactly what time afternoon tea is served. Beach loungers are extremely comfortable and no sooner had we arrived than an ice-bucket of cool water appeared by our side. The coral sand is soft and kept pristine by a team of staff from the hotel, and the sea is azure and clear - perfect for swimming. It's not a huge beach but with the fewer guests at the end of February it always felt just perfect. An early evening stroll of a few hundred metres to the west-facing sunset bar overlooking the sea soon becomes a daily routine - and a relaxed one too - many of the guests still in sundresses and shorts. You can dine at the restaurant or on the beach and there is a choice of Thai and Western food. I often chose the western options as this is harder to obtain where I spend the winters - in Kerala. Breakfasts were excellent - my favourite meal of the day. The villa we had (No 206) was lovely - simple decoration with an open-air shower and private mini-pool/jacuzzi outside. We both found the private decking outside our villa too hot for relaxing and always chose the beach where there was a good breeze. I also enjoyed the massages and a pedicure in the Spa and use of the gym with it's sea views. It is quite hard to keep active here apart from a rather hot walk to the southern tip of the island, so swimming and the gym were perfect for me. Some people used the kayaks and sailing boat available on the beach. The gardens are kept immaculate as you would expect - orchids everywhere, and I was delighted to see a hornbill and an iguana in the grounds. The final thing to mention is the ease of access from Bangkok and how you are met with refreshing drinks in the private lounge of the company on the mainland and whisked across to the resort in less than 20 minutes, by private speed boat. It all felt very "James Bond"...
"Just great- truly Paradee"
Stayed for 4 nights earlier this month and it is as good as everyone says on TA. From the jettyside welcome onwards its very difficult to pick holes to be honest. I have been to the Maldives several times and the sand is softer/whiter, and eating dinner on the beach is a joy. The pool was great temperature (as was the sea) and service always with a smile as you would expect in Thailand. Yes its not super lively and the taxis up to town are expensive (nothing to do with the hotel) but generally its top notch- good food, lovely sunset bar (with happy hour) and luxurious but understated villas. I probably wouldn't bother paying for a pool villas again as they are a bit shaded with all the lush vegetation but that's a personal thing. I would thoroughly recommend Paradee and only being 3hrs drive from Bangkok I would tale that over domestic flights any day. Great.
"Delightful stay "
We stayed at the Paradee from 14th to 28th Feb and had the most relaxing holiday. It has its own beautiful private beach kept spotlessly clean by a team of cleaners. The food was good although we felt that they were better at cooking western food than Thai. The staff we thought were wonderful and absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them and always with a smile. We had a pool villa which I would recommend as they are right on the beach and quite spacious. All in all we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a 'do nothing' relaxing beach holiday away from crowds.
"Just what the doctor ordered, excellence par none"
We decided to go "top end" for my partner's 50th, which actually is not till June 2017, but we decided as she has terminal cancer, to bring it forward to March 2017. From the quayside in Rayong, the speedboat, the meeting at the Paradee, welcome drinks, villa, staff, it was a dream. the attention to detail from the staff and happy faces all day, was a pleasure. The staff were very knowledgeable about you, and basically you did not even have to think, in our eyes "perfection in the attention to detail" As a well traveled people, my partner & I cannot recommend the hotel and our UK travel company, Audley travel, enough..Thanks
