This was our first trip to Barbados and after much research, we decided to stay at Ocean Two and I don't think we could have made a better decision! Firstly I need to point out I am fussy, but I could not find a single fault throughout our 4 day stay. The check in process was seamless with us being offered refreshing cold flannels and a drink brought over from the bar which after an 11 hour flight was much appreciated! We had booked to stay in a one bedroom ocean view suite, the suite we were allocated was beautiful but was on the ground floor and I was hoping for a higher floor to fully take in the magnificent views. After a quick chat with reception they advised they had no others available for that night (this was now around 7pm) but would come back to us the next day. True to their word, the following morning after we had returned from breakfast, reception telephoned through and we had been re-allocated to a suite on the 4th floor. I could write chapter and verse about how wonderful our stay was, the suites are fantastic, huge comfy bed, the biggest shower, spacious living area and kept wonderfully clean by the housekeeping staff. With regards to the hotel, the location was fantastic, the staff were all wonderful and could not do enough for you, as many others have commented the sun loungers were the comfiest ever - we enjoyed ourselves so much at the hotel, other than a walk down the Gap one afternoon we never left! Highlight for us was the Saturday night beach BBQ - fantastic experience with the most delicious food, a brilliant way to round off our stay! The checkout process was as seamless as checking in, and although, as the hotel was fully booked we could not have a later check out (our flight home was 9pm), we were offered the opportunity to use the shower facilities in the hotel gym which was very much appreciated. All in all a most wonderful holiday and we will definitely be back - hopefully sooner rather than later!

"Lovely Resort but I have a few recommendations"

My husband and I traveled with another couple to run the Barbados Marathon on Dec 3rd (a great experience). We stayed at the resort for 9 nights. Overall it was a great experience and epic holiday. The service was excellent and the staff really did their best to be friendly and helpful. While we did experience a few minor problems, the staff made up for everything. Tourism is the main industry in Barbados and the people are top-notch in the hospitality department. The open air lobby/bar area is really pretty and upscale. We enjoyed sipping coffee in the mornings in the comfy chairs looking out at the beach area and ocean. The beach and pool area are also nicely done and especially attractive in the evenings with the colored lights. I was surprised by the bigger waves and rough surf but that made our surfing lesson go well. But I would have preferred calmer waters for swimming. The rooms were beautiful with marble-like floors and a fully equipped kitchen. Granite counter tops and a modern kitchen was very appreciated. We cooked most of our meals and had just about everything we needed. There is even a cooler for wine which was a nice touch. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks and a large modern shower. I loved the big square shower head in the middle that could be angled in both directions. The king bed was comfy and there was ample closet space and drawers. You could also walk out to the balcony from the bedroom and see the ocean. We were in a garden room with a small view of the ocean. The only problem was that it was a noisy corner of the building. Service trucks with linens were constantly in and out of the driveway under our room. Also there was a loud jazz club close by and we could hear the music and singing in our room. This was not ideal the nights before the marathon. And at around 3:30 to 4am there was a garbage/recycling truck picking up bottles every morning. There was a house next door below our window where the guests were having a large noisy party one night. And because there are no carpets, noise from above residents can be easily heard. After the marathon I tried to get a nap in the afternoon, but I think work was being done on the AC in another unit and I kept hearing lots of noise. The recommendation we have is to purchase some box fans which provide excellent white noise. A box fan would have drowned out most of the noise mentioned. If staying here again I would ask to be on the other side of the building if you are a light sleeper. Our friends weren't as disturbed by the noise as us but they are better sleepers than us. One other strange thing that happened was that we were supposed to move to another room after 7 nights of our 9 night stay. That should never happen as it's a huge inconvenience. We would have had to move a ton of food from our fridge and be "homeless" for 3 hours. Not to mention the time lost at the beach packing and unpacking. Luckily the wonderful reservation staff worked their magic and figured out a way for us to stay in our room (Even with the outside noise I didn't want to deal with a move). My recommendation to the hotel would be: do not book people where they will ever have to move rooms during their stay. I'm giving 5 stars mostly because we were so happy we didn't have to change rooms. (4 stars was what I would have given if we had to deal with moving to another room) A lot of reviewers complained about the locals selling stuff on the beach. I did buy a few necklaces from a nice man named Tony, mostly because I'm a super nice person with a big heart. But I probably would have been more comfortable with less people trying to sell me stuff when I'm trying to relax and unwind. Overall it's a really lovely upscale smaller resort. The friendly staff do a super job. The rooms are very nice. It's not perfect but there are so many positive aspects that make up for any minor problems.

"Lovely hotel in a good location"

Ocean two is a lovely modern very clean and very comfortable hotel. The location is very good for a beach holiday and at the end of St. Lawrence gap. There are plenty eateries very near to the hotel. The pool area is very nice with a swim up bar and the biggest comfiest sun loungers I have ever seen or been on. The beach only had hotel guests, tho not private ( as no beaches are) other people did not seem to use it. Most staff were very nice and friendly. The only niggle was ...Our suite was next to the kitchen so after 6 or 6.30ish each moring you could hear the kitchen staff banging about in the kitchen, other than that it was perfect for us in every other way. Breakfast was very good and had a good choice, thankfully we were on a bed & breakfast basis as I think it was a bit pricey if you hadn't prepaid.

Looking to stay at a 5 star hotel/ residence in Christ Church, Barbados. Look no further. Ocean Two is located in one of Barbados’s popular spots in St. Lawrence Gap. It is walking distance to many bars and restaurants frequented by tourists visiting Barbados. Ocean Two offers beautiful ocean view one and two bedroom units that are outstandingly decorated. The units are also equipped with a full kitchen and everything that you made need to cook a scrumptious meal. The pool, restaurant and gym are wonderful. The staff are very friendly and will cater to your every need. If you visit Ocean Two you will definitely want to return and you will have the opportunity to do so. Ask for Craig or Calvin and speak with them to see all the different opportunities for a return visit. Please make sure that you tell them that Imani Young referred you to Ocean Two. This year’s visit made my 103rd visit to Barbados and Ocean Two is one of the most beautiful places to stay in Barbados. I hope this was a helpful review

"Beautiful resort and grounds. Terrific Staff"

My husband and I stayed at Oceans Two the last week of November into December 2017. This wonderful hotel is located in Christ Church, St Lawrence Gap area. The resort itself, albeit public, felt very private as there were large bolders on each side separating other beaches. You can get to the other beaches by street side entrances on the other side of the hotel. You cannot reserve beach chairs, however we never had an issue finding one available, and the staff was more than accommodating in putting up additional chairs or umbrellas when needed. We stayed in room 608 and the view was unbelievable. The rooms, hotel, and grounds were very clean and beautiful. The ocean itself was a little rough to "wade" in. We went in but, were not comfortable swimming out to far (we also in our late fifties). Some days, there was actually some light surf board activities as the waves led to those conditions. If you really want to surf, however, there are many spots on the other side of the island that are perfect for surfing. We took a guided tour around the entire island which is a must if you want to see and experience all Barbados has to offer. We were well informed of the culture and history of the island, stopped at wonderful places to take pictures, and it helped us plan the remainder of our trip as we had a better understanding of where everything was. The food on the island is very good. There are many places to eat along the streets in back of the hotels. Our room had a full kitchen, and there was a small market in front of the hotel where we bought necessities. A little pricier than the local grocery stores, but convenient non the less. We did venture to other parts of the islands via cab for dinners. I would recommend The Tides restaurant. Great ambience and awesome food. If you want to dine with the Rich and Famous, The Cliff is the place to go. You will need a reservation, and you will drop about $420 US dollars for a dinner for two. We had a great meal at Champers as well. The prices for the meals in the St Lawrence Gap area were reasonable. I would recommend Castaways, Cafe Sol, and Primo for walking distance dinners. Breakfast was pricey at the hotel, so we ventured out to the streetside places or made our own in the room. Bridgetown is bustling with both locals an visitors, has lots of shopping, both street side and malls. If you want a great lunch, hit the Waterfront Café in Bridgetown. Wonderful place! Great Trip!
