"I changed my mind - it is worth a visit"

   20-11-2016
I wrote about my last stay at the hotel a year ago (December 2015). I was not very positive and in fact I recommended you to look for another hotel. However I am back and I have given the hotel one more try - and the result? This year I was given a fantastic room with a seaside view. The room is newly refurbished and is of a very good international standard. The room is very CLEAN and the cleaning staff is doing a very good job. The buffet restaurant is getting better. Breakfast is up to a very good standard, however you miss some of the fantastic bread the French are famous for. The dinner buffet is of a very good standard. The breakfast service and attitude of the servants needs to improve. They look like they are not happy to turn up for work - the night shift is on the contrary very good. As you can imagine English is not the favorite language, but you get along even though you are not French speaking. I had some guests over for lunch at the beach. Later we went to the swimmingpool, however they where thrown away by security as they where not residents - they told security that they have been invited by me, but that was not an option - maybe some curtesy should be in place here ? Having stayed here for close to two weeks, I have changed my mind. The hotel is now highly recommended and it has improved tremendously the last twelve months. Am I coming again? I think so.

"Clean rooms, good food and service, pity about the building work"

Arrived early and was allowed to book into room. Helpful staff, clean and tidy room. Good food and bar service and great selection of food at breakfast. Downside no tea or coffee in room. Overall good stay.

"Not our cup of tea"

   09-09-2016
We arrived late after a delayed flight & stressful drive from the airport so were not in the best of moods. And it was dark which possibly made it harder to judge our surroundings however we were immediately disappointed by the location. I chose this hotel as if we are staying somewhere for any significant period of time we prefer to eat & drink in local establishments rather than the hotel. Google Maps had shown many nearby bars & restaurants so this was a huge factor in my choice, unfortunately, those within walking distance were not what we expected. I was hoping for beach bars with sandy floors and Caribbean views however the bars in the vicinity were either on a busy road or overlooking the car park!! In fact the hotel was flanked by a huge car park within a 10ft wire fence and to get in & out of the hotel complex we had to walk through the car park to a metal alley past the security gate. It put me in mind of a US penitentiary, not a luxury Island hotel. In fact security was so tight that we were concerned about the safety of the local area so didn’t want to wander too far, especially as we had no idea where to go. In the end we gave up & went back to the hotel where the bar was huge & loud and they wouldn’t let us run a tab, just in case we skipped without paying! They were having a Havana night so playing salsa music, which I normally love, but it was loud and accompanied by a very annoying DJ screaming dance instructions in French & whooping. So we had a couple of drinks and went to bed hoping that the morning would show the place in a new light. To be fair, the room was fine, the shower was good & the beds comfortable, however, the morning brought more disappointment. The sea view from the room was not worth the extra money as it was a sea view through trees, WiFi wasn’t free and breakfast was average & served in a huge mess tent like structure. We looked around the hotel and the pool, whilst OK, was surrounded by a glass fence with the sun loungers in regimented rows. The fence meant that the loungers could not be moved to get shade or face the sun, so wouldn’t have suited us. The beach was lovely but small & looked man made? So although the hotel wasn’t too bad, it was not our cup of tea and there was no way we wanted to spend any more of our precious holiday time there. So we swallowed the cost and by 9:15am had checked out and were in the car in search of somewhere more to our taste.

"Middle of the range resort hotel at a price"

   26-08-2016
I only spent one night at the hotel. We arrived at 16h00, to find our rooms were not ready. We were then offered a complimentary rum cocktail. Which nearly blew my socks off it was so strong. We had to wait the best part of an hour before our rooms were ready. The rooms are adequate but basic. It is a family orientated resort hotel, so if you go there on a business trip expect only the most basic services. Internet is poor and unless you complain about it they will charge you unto 5 Euros for 1 days connectivity. The gymnasium is good and the restaurant is very good. Breakfast is good, but very european.

"Very pleasant stay"

   24-08-2016
We stayed here with two adults and two children. We had a wonderful stay. Before we read some reviews about having no hot water but we had no issues like that. Even if we showered all four of us we had enough hot water. The room was very nice and although we were with four it had plenty enough room. To only minor thing was that the beds are a little bit small (140 cm). In the room you have a fridge, large enough for 3 large bottles. The swimming pool was really nice. If you travel with children it is good to know that most of the pool is 1.40 depth. There is one part less depth but you can only climbe in via the deeper part of the pool. The women at the tourdesk was very very enthousiastic and had good tips. The personel at the rest of the hotel were polite but nothing more than that (like a business hotel). Opposite the parking lot there is a small shop and opposite this some there are washing machines. At the Karaibes hotel (next to Creole beach) you can buy coins for these machines (5 euro washing and 3 euro for drying). For us the dinner in the hotel was too expensive (35 euro pp for bufet) but opposite the Casino (walking distance from the hotel) you have about 6 restaurants on a row and each night we tried a new one. All were very good. Prices for our family: around 70 euro in total incl. drinks.
