Over Jardin del Eden

I stumbled across this gem in Tamarindo. It is paradise in the jungle. There were lots of couples on their honeymoon but everyone was so friendly and social as I was on my own. The Gardens and pools are perfect and the staff went out of their way to make everything perfect. There is a private path done to the beach and everything is secure and safe! The Howler monkeys came out in the mornings in the nearby trees so I could drink my coffee and watch them playin around. Thank you so much for an amazing end to my trip in Costa Rica -can not wait to return!!

"building works ruined our experience but otherwise a beautiful place"

We recently stayed at Jardin del Eden where we spent 5 nights at the end of November. The hotel looks nice and well kept, with a beautiful garden. The staff is amazing and was always extremely kind, especially those at the restaurant where breakfast was served and Elena at the reception. Breakfast itself was amazing, with such a big choice from the buffet, from fresh tropical fruits, homemade squeezed juices, breads, rolls, tropical jams, a guy who made you eggs the way you wanted them, hams, salmon, cheeses, granola and cereals, yogurts.. just everything you could dream of. Our experience however could have been better if they did not have building works ongoing during our stay. We were not that disturbed during the day apart from the fact that builders were going back and forth around the premises, but as we stayed in room 42 which is next to a storage room that staff and builders used frequently, we were disturbed by the noises and voices that came from there, since 7 a.m. and on our last night until 10 p.m. (I think they were rushing to finish a job before the high season starts). Walls are not that thick. I understand and appreciate that a hotel has to go through maintenance periodically and of course they would do this in low season, however I would have expected to pay a different price instead of the 180 USD a night we paid to make up for the inconveniences caused. Another thing to consider is the fact that on the hotel website it looks as if the hotel is directly on the beach but this is not the case. To get to the beach it's a little walk through the gardens, then you need to get out with your card from the hotel gate, cross the main road and open another gate with your card. There you will find a small area with a few umbrellas on the grass (wifi too) and the gate to the beach (this gate is not locked). All in all we had a nice stay, just not as good as it could have been if it was more quiet though.

"An Honest Review"

We returned from this hotel yesterday after spending 12 nights there from 11-24th November. The grounds are beautiful, well kept and the serving staff in the bar and restaurant are outstanding! Connect with Endy or Marlon and they are more than happy to serve you. Two major things happened with our booking and the hotel did not take any responsibility for either of them. Firstly, the booking through Expedia was a breakfast and dinner plan. We paid up front at the hotel as policy. When queried with the hotel about our plan, the hotel staff informed us we would not get dinner as they did not do this anymore. When asked to refund us part of our payment, we were informed that refunds are very difficult and that it was not their fault but Expedia's. Another couple had the same problem, and Expedia were working with them to refund a value of dinner if they scanned receipts back to them, so the hotel staff kept suggesting we do this. We were on the phone for 3 hrs trying to sort this with Expedia. Secondly, please be aware that there are renovations going on in this hotel, and have been for months. We were woken every morning at 7am with the constructions workers. We would try sit out on our patio in a morning with coffee and a trail of them would come and go past us. Each day we experienced, tile cutting, banging, workers calling out to each other and drilling. Renovations were all over the hotel, and staff offered us a different room but it was still above two rooms they were renovating. When we brought our concerns to the reception staff, empathy was given but they had no power to make change. The reception staff blamed the constructions workers for the building noise. This last Monday a new manager started working at the hotel to be the face between the hotel and guests. The owner of the hotel and his sister were on site every day with the construction workers but never once spoke to us throughout our stay. We do believe that the hotel has a responsibility to follow up with Expedia to ensure that information advertised about their hotel is accurate and they should also add extra information advising that renovations are going on at their hotel. The new manager offered us a 30 minute massage on our last day to help 'compensate'- Total $60. We feel pretty upset that we saved up all year and looked forward to a relaxing vacation and did not get what we paid for. Sure, first world problems but common decency by the hotel owners would have been appreciated. We think our concerns were not a concern for them and a price they pay as part of running their business and earning money. We were told they were working hard to get the renovations completed for high season, which reinforced our perception that we did not matter to them. We hope you have a lovely experience as we know how important vacations are, we just wanted others to be aware of our experiences.

"Amazing place deserves 5 but read my Storry"

So where to start. It took me and my Mother more than 24 hours of straight non stop journey to get to this amazing and Tropical paradise. I must Say Hotel definitely looks amazing and welcoming was really nice we were treated with nice ice cold towels and complimentary drinks. Where greeted by a wherry pleasant and amazing receptionist whose name was something like Viviane im probably wrong she smiled and treated us wherry professionally, what amazed me was her Language knowledge as while i was waiting for our room to be cleaned i saw here freely talking with hotel guest in English, Spanish,French and German who knows, she might know even more Languages, Forgot to mention that we where greeted by a wherry pleasant General manager who wished us pleasant time within this small paradise within Costa Rica. So why i give only 3 Stars ???? We arrived group of 6 people at around 11:30 first group of 2 got there room in first 10 minutes, second group of 2 got there room in following 10 or so minutes, that's absolutely grate we don't mind to wait couple of minutes before they clean our room so we could wash ourselves after and change in clean closes after such a long gurney and finally could start to enjoy our holiday. Unfortunately it was far from that another couple arrived booked room straight from reception (might be wrong, but that's the way it seemed) so in following 15 or so minutes they got directed to their room. Me and my Mom Still Waiting, so not to go on in details, we finally got or room at 13:40 almost 2 hours later then the rest members of our group, when we finally got to our room we find out that our key cards doesn't work so i had to go back and ask them for new ones :D Finally we got in our room at around 14:00 meaning that or trip to our lovely hotel room was extended by additional 2:30 h Just to be Perfectly Clear i am not blaming anyone particularly, specially not the person working at reception desk as they where very pleasant and nice people. So this is the reason why im giving only 3 stars, if not this unpleasant situation it definitely would have received all 5. I guess it can never get 100%, there is always possibility for something to go wrong, unfortunately this time it was my and my Moms time. looking forward for next 6 days in this hotel. 24/11/16

"Perfect Hotel for our Honeymoon!"

This hotel was perfect! Stayed for a week on our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our choice. We were greeted by friendly front desk staff and offered champagne upon our arrival. Breakdown of each aspect- Room- we stayed in a king suite (room) that had plenty of space and an adorable porch/ patio that faced the pool area while still giving us plenty of privacy. Each room has its own entryway which was great because we never felt like we were staying at a crowded hotel. The bathroom was big and the shower was great! Our only complaint was the bed, not horrible, but definitely not the most comfortable. Other reviews complained about the hotel being under construction (which it is), but we never once were bothered by noise. Our particular room did not have an ocean view but it looked like others did. We had a lush green garden view instead (beautiful). Location- absolutely perfect! Quick walk down a plant-lined walkway to the private beach area/ main Tamarindo beach. It was great to have a private area with chairs because elsewhere you have to pay to rent them. We walked to each meal as well as the town's nightly hotspot. Perfect location in the middle of town & always felt safe because of the gated walkway to/from the Main Street. Also, there was always a security guard nearby which was nice for sense of safety. Pool- cute secluded pool with attached restaurant & bar. We never ate there but the staff was so incredibly friendly I regret not eating there for at least one meal. Overall, we loved this hotel & are already planning our return trip this spring! I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Tamarindo!
