Erg indrukwekkend!
"Beautiful place with wonderful people."
We did not actually stay in the hotel. We were in the Tango Mar community & spent a lot of time walking around the area. We enjoyed wonderful beach side massages at the hotel. Also had an amazing dinner one night at the restaurant & several pool side lunches of yummy drinks & delish ceviche! Also enjoyed a day of golfing with scarlet macaws flying over head. A wonderful area with lots to do, amazing people & beautiful scenery.
"Nice place to relax with family"
After an adventurous 2 weeks of travelling our tour operator chose this place for us for three days of relaxing. It offers quite a bit for everybody. Even a nine hole golf for course. It was good though that not many people were playing at the same time as the course was rather narrow. Quality was surprisingly good apart from two greens being revamped currently. The pools are very nice, though the water is almost a little too warm. The hotel's horse ride excursion was somewhat the negative experience. The guide was rather uninterested and unattentive even we had young kids in our group. Food is good, though in comparison pricy (a shame the disnt offer all dishes priced on the list; e.g. The T-Bone). The Cazpacho is superb. As a change for one night we went to 'downtown' Tambor to Henry's Pizza. Im comparison, the total dinner bill for 9 people there (inkl drinks) was less (!) than for about 2 persons' dinner at our hotel... I would personally also friendly advice the hotel management to revisit their charges for the alcoholic drinks. Otherwise people will remain bringing their own booze from the supermarket close by. A six pack is cheaper than one beer at the pool bar. Also the wine list needs improvement in quality and price. The rooms are super clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed also the very large shower they offer. View to the sea is awesome. Unfortunately swimming is dangerous in this area. Very friendly people and management.
"Really beautiful hotel, staff and setting... Beach was dirty / filthy."
Great hotel and excellent staff. Really cool location and secluded. They need to clean beach weekly or more often. I do understand they are in a location that is a beach trash collecter... It must be the currents. Bottom line.... is that if a place is this sensitive to Eco and Environmental causes then it needs to put into practice what they preach. I do know they try and clean the beach, as I discussed it with the staff, but it needs to be emphasized and done more regularly. It was the dirtiest beach we encounterd in Costa Rica. Having said that we loved the staff, people and food. Dinners were absolutely wonderful. This is a very cool place and we are happy we stayed here. They simply need to put in a greater effort on cleaning up their private beach.
"Perfect vacation in Costa Rica"
We stayed 6 nights at Tango Mar in July. My husband & I with our two college aged kids were in a deluxe oceanfront room. The view from the room, the pool, and the restaurants was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly, kind, and always helpful. We hiked, listened to the ocean, got massages, explored Montezuma, fished, went horseback riding, and relaxed. It was a perfect mix of adventure and R&R. We definitely hope to come back here.
"We miss this place!"
We decided on having our wedding at Tango Mar in May and it was better than I could have ever imagined. We stayed at the hotel during the rainy season and though it rained it was mostly at night. From the first night we arrived the entire staff was extremely accommodating and that carried on as our 27 guests arrived and treated the hotel like home for the next week. The hotel is small and quiet but beautiful and secluded. You have the entire beach for yourself at almost all times aside from the few residents who live further down. The water was a little rough but if you watch the tides there are breaks were you can go in and swim for a bit and if you walk further down towards the rocks it seems a little calmer as the waves break the roughness a bit. The pool, like the hotel is a little on the smaller side and the swim up bar was not open as much as our group had hoped but it was still a perfect place to swim and relax, or read a book and was always the perfect temperature. As a result of having so many guests come and stay for our wedding we were able to see almost all of the different rooms the hotel has to offer. We were upgraded to a Tiki suite and it was amazing. You can see the beach from almost every room on the property but the large windows that you can see out of from bed were gorgeous. The room itself was a good size and the shower was large but the water in the shower and sink got very, VERY hot very fast. We did have a little bit of an ant problem in our room but it wasn't anything that could not be dealt with for the week. We also had a surprise guest (lizard) wake us up in the middle of the night by falling from our ceiling onto out bed. The maintenance on the rooms is great. The staff if friendly but quick. When our air conditioning stopped working on our wedding day we were offered another tiki suite or for someone to come and fix it, which they did in a timely fashion. The smaller of the 2 villas, and the beachfront rooms were also lovely and well kept. We ate at the main restaurant almost every night and we were never disappointed by the food or service. All of the dishes we had were delicious, the food coming out could be a little slow but for a party of 29 that was expected. We booked multiple tours through the hotel and they were convenient and a great time. My husband went golfing multiple times and enjoyed seeing monkeys and parrots on the golf course. We did the horseback riding which was enjoyable but a little long for a trot the entire time and will leave you with a sore behind if not accustomed to riding. Our entire group participated in the super tour and had a blast. Transportation and lunch were provided. Everyone had a blast learning about the area and seeing different sights. The snorkeling and Tortuga island were favorites among the group and the grilled lunch was light, and perfect. We booked almost everything through Hannia who is the event coordinator, and just overall an amazing person. She was so helpful from the beginning of the process when I stressed my apprehension on planning a wedding from so far away, and throughout our entire stay. She made our special day perfect and gave us multiple back up plans in case of poor weather. She worked with us on every aspect from decorations, to figuring out how to set up our bar, to the DJ, and was even our officiant :). Seriously, Hannia is awesome. Lastly, because I could probably go on forever, the rest of the staff were all so great. Everyone we met at the hotel was so friendly, and seemed happy to be there. They were able to provide us with information on activities, food, transportation, making reservations for dinner outside of the hotel, and even came to the rescue when one of our family members had a medical emergency in the middle of the bar (sorry guys). Royland was the greatest! He was always around and had a smile on his face. Geronimo, Josua, and Jaxier were all so helpful throughout our stay as well as well as the rest of the staff around the hotel. Anyway! Long story short, Stay here, enjoy it! Be in the moment and take it all in because there aren't many places like this left.
