"Darja & Sasa"

We can only say that Casa Lajagua was our best choice. April and Craig are excellent, very helpful and very opened persons. Casa Lajagua is very clean with comfortable rooms. My husband hired Craigs boat for fishing and the boat is really fully equipped for big game fishing. My husband finally found someone who knows what he is doing. Breakfast was tasty every day, different and always included fresh fruits or fresh vegetables. April can organize for you different trips around Pedasi and you can count on her. Casa Lajagua is really the best Casa in town. Darja&Sasa Slovenia, EU

"Super innkeepers"

Great rooms, wonderful food, but the highlight of this B&B are the innkeepers. They are very dedicated to making the stay in Pedasí a good one. Super helpful and knowlegable. I'm looking forward to a return trip.

"Hidden Treasure"

Just spent 2 nights here with a group of friends from Panama. April and Craig are the perfect hosts, rooms very nice and clean and a good size. A nice pool and gardens to sit and relax. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection, different every day., They can arrange deep sea fishing, whale watching and many more trips. They have a bar, or you can bring your own drinks. We had dinner last night using the Tuna some of our group had caught, prepared perfectly for appetizer and dinner. Will definitely be going back for another visit.

"Spotless Rooms and Friendly Staff at Casa Lajagua"

My first experience with Casa Lajagua was not positive but they more than made up for it. They don't accept credit cards, for a very good reason, it turns out, but they do require a down payment. This means wiring money which isn’t as easy as using plastic. Owners Craig and April Lewis explained to me that Panama allows credit card companies to charge expat businesses a whopping 7% for the privilege of using their products. This would normally be charged back to visitors but the proprietors chose not to play that game and keep their prices lower. April explained that they have subsequently developed a better alternative. Although they have tried to get it changed to no avail, Googlemaps deposits you at a locked back gate. If you’re looking at the phone like me, instead of the very visible sign on the road leading into Pedasi, you’ll miss the front entrance. The buildings on the property are set back from the road with all manner of native trees and shrubs in between. I pulled into a tidy shelter for cars and their boat. A staff member met me and showed me to my room which was one of six identical units at Casa Lajagua. There was a queen bed with plenty of pillows and a smaller single bed that I used to park my suitcase. Clean linens were on the bed along with an assortment of towels. The stained concrete floors were spotless. Behind the large bed are racks for gear and an open closet for clothes. The toilet and shower are behind separate doors on either side of a vanity with a sink that was plenty big enough to wash clothes. There are plenty of wall hangers for wet clothes or towels. Each room has its own hammock just outside the door. A few steps from any room is their pool. It’s small and you won’t be swimming laps in it but it’s perfect for getting wet to cool off. The pool is well maintained, clear and inviting. The size also makes it easy for parents to monitor their kids, a couple of which thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There is a covered outdoor common area with a bar and surprisingly large kitchen. There are a couple picnic style tables as well as a large couch and chairs for watching the only TV on the property. It was used primarily for sports while I was there and I was grateful to escape the barrage of news to which I’m usually drawn. The common area is also where you can use their free wi-fi. Concrete in the rooms precludes getting an adequate signal at this time. I usually skip breakfast, but not at Casa Lajagua. Craig has devised a delicious all fruit smoothie with fresh passion fruit, banana, and other local ingredients. The menu changes every day but usually contains eggs, bacon or sausage, a seasonal fruit, a starch, and fresh coffee from Panama served between 7 and 9:30. It’s a great opportunity to talk with the other guests and the hosts. I’m just starting to look at moving to the area so I used the time to speak with other guests who were considering the same. Craig and April provided invaluable insights about what it takes to make the transition. Casa Lajagua is located at the northern end of central Pedasi but it takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the southerrn end so you’re close to everything. The beaches require about a 5-minute drive. Craig and April Lewis at Casa Lajagua have established a clean, safe, welcoming place to stay while visiting the magical village of Pedasi. They’re wonderful hosts and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay memorable. I know I’ll be going back.

"Hidden Gem"

We lovedour stay at Casa Lajagua, the suite we had was large and the rooms were very clean. Our hosts were full of great information about the area. They offered local tours and we took one to the Isle of Iguana, they took care of everything. Would definitely recommend this without a doubt!!!
