"Family Destination"

Our family of 8 enjoyed the perfect vacation at South Seas! Excellent accommodations and service with excellent Food, Beverage, and Entertainment! The Kids Program is fun, creative, and professionally managed. We wish to thank Stephan and everyone at the pool for the excellent service to our cabana! We'll be back!!

"It's an absolute must!!!"

Look...its not cheap...but it's not a rip off I swear to you. I went to South Seas with my family as a kid and now that I have a 3 year old I wanted to start the tradition back up. We stayed in the Oceanside condos and watched every single sunset for 5 night from our balcony while eating lobster tails and grilled shrimp. The resort is truly magical. All rooms, villas and homes are owned privately. Just a tip...make sure you are not staying next to one having renovations done as no rest will be had during weekday visits. Our room had a bedroom, full kitchen, living room batroom etc. Literally walk downstairs and your on the walkway to the the pool and ocean. The resort itself has everything you can imagine for a family. Bring fishing poles or rent them and catch dinner. The trolley or a rented golf cart will take you to the main pools with slides and tiki bar etc. There are camps and activities for the kids that are fun and the even have an arcade and playroom for big kids and toddlers alike. The ice cream slash pizza parlor slash candy shop is totes adorable, you won't be able to drag your family out. Definitely rent a golf cart, you have freedom to jump in and take it off property to all the cute places Captiva has to offer. We were so in heaven we called and begged them to let Us stay one more night. My daughter cried 2 hours on the way home saying she doesn't want to leave Captiva. I asked her...whats better...Disney World or Captiva...before I finished my sentence she said Captiva and golf carts and the walk in pool with slides...lol... enjoy every second with your family or even as a couples getaway... it's heaven in Florida.

"Great Vacation"

We just got back this week from 5 days at South Seas. My family really enjoyed the trip and the resort is very nice. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a beach villa from a bayside villa, since apparently they didn't have any bayside villas available. So that was a welcome surprise! The villa was nice, although it could use some updating. There were a few room issues that we stopped by the registration to ask them to fix, and no one ever came to fix them during our stay (leaky faucet that had a constant drip, drawer that was stuck closed). When we checked out, we mentioned this to them and they gave us a small discount off the bill, which was nice of them to do. However, we greatly enjoyed and appreciated the convenient access to the beach! We rented a golf cart which made it a bit easier to get around the resort, because it is quite large. And where our room was located was the total opposite end from the big pools and most of the action. There is a trolley you can use, but I think the golf cart provides flexibility. My kids loved the water slides at the main pool. The restaurants onsite are pricey, so we ate dinner every night off property, and there are plenty of restaurants near by. With the villa, we brought in our own food for breakfast. There is a company onsite where you can make arrangements for water sports - waverunners, parasailing, kayaking. Again, not cheap but you are at a resort, so the price wasn't unexpected. Overall, it was a really nice vacation and we plan to come back at some point!

"Beach and view were great, but rooms need rennovating."

Stayed in the Harbourside Water View Suite. View of water was great, but the room itself needs updating. Carpet and furniture were stained and from 30 years ago. For that much money, you want to stay in a modern room, wouldn't take much to renovate it. That is my only complaint, didn't participate in any activities. Visited beach, which was cool and full of shells. All staff I encountered were nice. Not sure if I would stay again strictly because of what you get for the price. Spent my last night at Ritz Naples and got MUCH better service and room for same price as South Seas.

"Back to Captiva!"

My family has been going and vacationing on Captiva Island for many years. This year we decided to stay somewhere new and chose South Seas Resort, big mistake! Upon arrival we could barely understand the employee at check in, she spoke very fast and robotic. We stayed in the Beach villas, the room was OK but we soon learner that there were no ceiling fans in our unit. The kitchen didn't have enough utensils for anyone to really cook. The worst was probably the linens on the beds, they were the most uncomfortable sheets I've ever felt in my life, was very similar to sleeping under a plastic tarp and if you moved it sounded like we were under a tarp. Housekeeping surface cleaned only, we didn't even get new towels the next day. The tiki bar and restaurants were so far away we had to drive back and forth, and the prices were extremely high. After the first day we chose to eat offsite. The beach was so far from the room you were exhausted by the time you got there and because it's such a big resort we felt it was slightly crowded. The pools were small and so hot that it was not refreshing. For the money we spent we were excepting a lot more. What really bothered me was at check out the staff asked how our trip went and we expressed as nice as we could that we would not be coming back. Her answer "OK" With that I felt like they weren't too worried about their guest money or vacation. I would never recommend this resort to anyone, very disappointed in this trip. From now on I'll spend my money where I should of in the first place, Tween Waters Inn, now that's the real deal, kicking myself for thinking somewhere else could compete.
