""Nice experience, will not return""

We arrived late on the 9th after a long flight into Ft Lauderdale. The room was comfortable, needs updating. Beds are too low for tall people. Needs a microwave. Cabana room is great, ocean view is great. Meals are pricey and food was average. Asked and denied a late checkout due to sold out cabana kings according to the night and morning receptionist. Waitress and housekeeping staff were wonderful. If you want peace and quite with access to the ocean, this is the resort for you. Be prepared for the additional resort fees. Shower is wonderful.

"5 star resort with 1 star service"

This hotel is gorgeous. Loved the rooms, and especially the shower. I normally hate showers and was really disappointed to find our room didn't have a tub, but after experiencing that shower I think I could be converted! The valet staff is very friendly and helpful and housekeeping did a great job when we requested to have our room cleaned. Now, I am not sure if I just wasn't wearing fancy enough clothes upon check in or what, but we weren't offered the champagne greeting that we had paid for. It was sitting on a cart right there, but wasn't even mentioned to us. Ok. Not a huge deal. What really bothered us during our stay was how absolutely horrible the service is at the bar, in the restaurant, and by the pool. Even though the drinks are crazy over priced ($15 for like a 10 oz cocktail in a plastic cup), we decided to splurge for convenience's sake, thinking we would at least get great service. Again, maybe it's because I didn't have hands full of diamonds, but I had to basically chase down a waitress anytime I wanted a drink. My partner asked for a drink from the pool concierge (there were literally 4 people by the pool at the time... not busy...) and she laughed at him and walked away. Seriously. And service at the restaurant was also so bad that we stopped eating there. We tried breakfast one morning and the sun was beating down on us. The older gentlemen got up to try to open his umbrella and hotel staff ran over immediately to do it for him. When our waitress came by our table, we asked if someone could also help us move ours into position and she said sure. Ten minutes later, I was getting burnt and no one was coming, so my partner got up and attempted to move it and open it himself. He wrestled with it for a good 5 minutes (they are huge) and not only did no one try to help him, but our waitress didn't even acknowledge that she said she would help us and we had to do it ourselves. During our meal, I accidentally dropped my silverware and she came by to ask how our meal was. I told her I had dropped my silverware by mistake and asked if I could get a clean set so I could finish my meal... she said of course! And scurried away and never came back. I borrowed my boyfriend's silverware so I could finish my cold food after it was clear she wasn't coming back. Again, no acknowledgement that she had messed up at all. Just really annoying. When you're paying $40-50 for breakfast, basic customer service shouldn't be an unreasonable expectation. Won't return

"Very disappointing "

We had hoped for a relaxing weekend getaway only to be disappointed upon entering our room. We booked the room on Orbitz, it was advertised as a king room with a view. After calling ahead to confirm we were getting an ocean view what we got was a view of 3 large potted plants, 2 dumpsters and the back of the parking lot. After speaking with the front desk about why we were not given what was confirmed we were told it would be a $100 upgrade to get a better view. We decided to make the best of what we had. Let me point out that the hotel was not packed or busy at all. You would think they would try their best to make a new customer to the resort comfortable and happy to become a repeat customer since we are local. There was a cold front that came through this weekend so it was in the high 40's that. night which is extremely cold for Florida. So our plans for laying by the pool or taking a walk on the beach that night was out of the question so we were forced to stay in our room "without a view" for the night. On to the hotel restaurant. We ordered the $50 Paella for two. It was by far the worst I've ever had, it had no flavor at all for a Latin dish and there was barely any meat. The chicken was tiny little chopped pieces, there were literally 8 shrimp and 2 scallops, I counted them. The server was very attentive and tried to make it better which we really appreciated and sent over the manger but after speaking with him we were only offered a dessert plate. When checking out we were asked about our stay we told them our experience and what happened with the room. We even showed them a copy of the Orbitz booking that says it was a room with a view. We were told "oh we should look into that" with a very unsympathetic tone and then told the $27 resort fee was being added to our card on file. I couldn't believe they didn't even offer to not charge us that for our inconvenience. Overall I was sadly disappointed with this resort. I was so looking forward to it too. I will not be returning and suggest they instruct their front desk associates when a customer has a complaint they should get a manger involved. Maybe then something could've have been done to make our stay more enjoyable and make us want to come back again.

"Hidden Gem!"

from check in to departure this hotel/resort is top shelf. Wonderful experience. Rooms clean and comfortable. Ocean front room with walk in closet nice touch. Staff could not be more helpful and friendlier.

"You should stay here"

We booked our stay without knowing much about the resort. It's smaller but offers everything you would expect from a resort experience. Nice decor and updated throughout the public areas and guest rooms. The bathroom was large with a really spacious shower, and the room was nicely appointed and good lighting everywhere. The one negative is that housekeeping did not steam or mop the tile floors. Walking barefoot, one could feel the grit residue from the beach sand. They also neglected to clean the tops of the baseboards in the room and in the hallways. The dust buildup was noticeable. Our room was close to the elevator but we heard none of that noise. For me, the great appeal about this resort is the staff. Across the board they are so engaged, hard working, always pleasant with a "my pleasure" reply to every request. Management should be proud of this group. We really enjoyed our four day stay....our reservation included breakfast which was quite good. Also had a really fine dinner one evening. The wait staff is fast and efficient in the restaurant, at the pool cabana and even on the beach. The pool is heated and I especially loved that lounge chair covers were provided to everyone. We always found an available chair and were not limited in the number of towels we requested, as some resorts will do. The entire pool area was really clean. No bugs or bugspray smell anywhere. Chairs were provided at the beach, however there is a charge for the umbrellas. Self parking was very convenient.
