"Get what you pay for with this one"
First off if you are staying here simply based on price this is the cheapest Disney hotel. However, it's very loud and always full of school groups who have little or no adult supervision. The rooms are very basic with only double beds (not queens). It is close to animal kingdom and you do get all the other Disney resort perks like magic hours. However I wouldn't stay here again simply because of the noise/kids running just outside my room at all hours.
It's clean, well maintained, and most of the staff is friendly, but it's not on par with every other Disney property we've stayed at in the past. Let's start with check-in/out... understaffed and slow! Disney - please don't waste my magical time waiting in yet another long line. The food is on par with what one might expect. Lots of "fair" food with a few extra choices for mom and dad. The food court is confusing as the stations are not clearly marked and menu boards advertise items found at another counter. The rooms are somewhat small, but that's not why you come to Disney. No blankets were provided, so some some in our party froze while others were hot. There are lots of kids, so expect slamming doors, shouting in the hallways, and to be stampeded everywhere. Overall the rooms were well maintained, but will need a refresh in the next few years. The pools were nice and heavily chlorinated. With all the kids, that's a good thing. The issues are a byproduct of rude patrons not watching their kids or breaking the rules. Again this a budget friendly family resort, so don't expect a relaxing pool experience. The last item is transportation. Many of us choose to stay at Disney for the transportation system and not for the overpriced Mickey waffles. Unfortunately during this trip they fell short. We spend an evening at Disney Springs and had to wait for an hour for a bus. This caused our kids to loose much needed sleep. If this can't be fixed, we'll skip the Springs next time. Overall we discovered that as with everything else you get what you pay for. Next time we'll go back to our favorite Animal Kingdom Lodge or off property as they too offer a shuttle.
"Almost -- accommodating "
The rooms are clean and the lunch and dinner offerings are not terrible, if incredibly basic; however, it is impossible to eat your food while it is still hot. The lines to order the meals are half an hour to 45 minutes, then the line to pay is 15-20 minutes. After that, on a weekend where Disney sponsored three different sports tournaments (baseball, soccer, and basketball) there were not enough tables and chairs. Also, it is impossible on Memorial Day weekend to close one of the pools. The main pool was dangerously crowded Sunday night. The "quiet" pool closed at 8 when all of the families arrived back after a long, hot day from ESPN Wide World of Sports. The temperatures reached 100 F We will not be staying there again.
"Disney is awesome as usual"
We wanted to take a Disney Vacation and stay at one of the resorts. (Mostly for onsite transportation and magic hours). We chose the All Star Sports because of the price but also it's location to all the parks and other local entertainment in Orlando. The staff was more than nice they were amazing from check-in to checkout. Two staff members in particular...Ashley and Clark at the guest check-in were amazing to deal with. I can't say enough good things about them. Our schedule was going to prevent us from seeing the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom so upon checking Clark made sure we were able to get in that very night and see the show. We didn't event ask for that!!! My family was able to be a part of a "soft opening of the new PANDORA park at Animal Kingdom where my daughter bought an exclusive gift. Upon returning to the hotel another guest broke the item and my daughter started to cry. Ashley said "There's no tears at Disney! Let me help you with that!" She then gave my entire family one day park hopper tickets and access to the Grand Opening of PANDORA where the staff replaced the broken item and then she even gave us a credit for our trouble so that my daughter could purchase something on her! 5 stars all the way around!!! We will definitely be returning and staying with them again!!!
"Nice Value Resort"
My husband and I stayed here with a friend, per his recommendation. This was our first time staying at a value resort and it was okay for just a few days. The rooms were a little outdated, smaller than expected but clean. I wasn't expecting such a long walk from our room to the pools or cafeteria, there is no easy way around the resorts. I did like that there were shuttles to take you to and from the parks and the airport, that made our travel much easier. The staff were friendly, but checking in took over an hour. There were only a few staff at check-in and hundreds of people waiting in line. I visited the gift shop while they were checking us in because it took way longer than I think it should have. The cafeteria was nice with a variety of food to choose from. The gift shop was a nice size and convenient for last minute souvenirs.
