"low budget stay"
Disney's all star sports resort is a reasonable way to stay at Disney for low cost. There are a lot of young people and groups. It has the basics for staying on the Disney property. The pool was nice but had no hot tub to put your worn out legs in to sooth the muscle aches from all the walking you can do at Disney parks. The food court is very accommodating and is the place to get your morning coffee. There are no coffee machines in rooms. They provide a small fridge so you can bring food and drinks from home. They provide bus service to all the parks and Disney Springs, but bring a coat or over shirt because for some reason they keep the A/C cranking no matter what the outside temperature is and its very cold.
We stayed April 17-19. We arrived at 10:30 am. Saying the check-in was slow would be kind. It took at least 40 minutes to get to the cast member with only two people in front of us.. We were informed that we had a choice of a $10.00 gift card or have the room cleaned while we stayed at the hotel. I have never stayed in a hotel with room cleaning as negotiable. We were given Disney bands as room keys, but we had our own. As annual passholders we asked if our bands could be linked with the hotel. The answer was to stand in another line. At this point, we didn't want to spend our time in a hotel lobby - we came to enjoy the parks. Eventually we went to Guest Services in Epcot where they were able to link our hotel with our passes in less than 3 minutes. When we finally got to the room, this was not the standard we expected from Disney - the table had not been wiped clean of leftover food, the conditioner, and body wash were empty. There was a small bar of soap that with no holder other than the plastic it was wrapped in. We have stayed in Disney properties in the past. This was the worst hotel experience ever.
"Brilliant hub for disney"
This was my first trip to the USA and Disneyworld, and this hotel was great. The rooms were big, clean and had everything you need (even a safe). There was a decent sized swimming pool and a Disney shop too. The hotel has a mini bus terminal with all buses going to different Disney parks. The only downside with stopping in Disney without a car is, that it's quite expensive and hard to get to universal and sea world for example. The hotel restaurant also is quite pricey if you're not on the dining plan. But overall, I loved it and the themes too!
"Best Upkept of the All-Star Resorts"
We have stayed at all three of the All-Star resorts: Sports, Music, & Movies. The All-Star Sports resort is the first one built, and it appears to be the best kept property of the three. The design is very close, and homey. The cast members were fantastic, and for a value resort, Disney did well.
"Good for the Money"
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 year old daughter on April 9-13. My parents and mother-in-law each had their own rooms. I checked in online but our room was not ready at 3:45 PM when we arrived. We went to the counter to check on the status and it did take some time, which was a little annoying. I requested adjoining rooms (a week in advance) and they adjoined my parents and mother-in-law, instead of us and my mother-in-law. They quickly corrected it. Also, they gave us the option to get a $30 gift card to not have our room cleaned daily. We took them up on it. They did come around each day and ask if we needed towels or trash removed. Unfortunately, that occurred once during our daughter's nap which was disruptive. We paid for a Preferred Room, which I highly recommend because these rooms are closer to the food court and buses. Our building (6) was next to the pool but our room didn't face the pool so it was not loud. The rooms were clean and had all the basic stuff. I wasn't expecting the Ritz so I was fine with the basic room. You could not hear the people in the rooms next door. Overall, for a value resort we thought the resort was fine. It had the things we needed. The rooms were adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful. We utilized the buses to get everywhere and they arrived without too much waiting. We love Disney and we are glad there are less expensive options that allow us to stay on the property.
