"Nice but not if you are going to hit the park hard"

We loved this hotel but it was out of the way so made for long bus rides. We were there for the parks so we didn't get to enjoy the hotel. We skipped the breakfast to save the meals for lunch. We did eat at Jiko which was off the charts good but out of this world expensive (we used all meal plans and had to pay $$$$) the room was nice. The bunk beds were fun for the kids but the top bunk was hot bc of the low ceilings. We thought the queen bed was terrible but they made good when we told them by sending us an egg crate for the mattress which made a world of difference. The view is what you pay for, loved seeing the animals. The pool looked great but we never got to enjoy them because we were at the parks from sun up to sun down. The staff was very friendly. Love the lobby. We would go back but only if we have down days to enjoy that resort.

"A great place!"

From the minute we drove in to when we left we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and loved the building. We had a savanna room and enjoyed what little free time we had, sitting on the balcony watching the animals. The room was large and comfortable.

"A magical scam"

My second time in Disney and first time in Disney hotel. Let me start with the positives : The transfer from the airport to hotel and back as well as the fact that they take care of your luggage is great. The bus between the hotel and the parks is ok. There is up to 20 min wait but I guess it's expected. The hotel has a beautiful central lobby and pool. There are animals outside. Jiko and Boma restaurants are really good but extremely overpriced Now the negatives. The room is small and completely outdated with no electric outlets and one of the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen. There is tiny light in bathroom so it's always dark in there. The room doesn't look or feel like a $400 a night room. More like $120 in Holiday inn. We had an unpleasant odor in room. I asked them to change the rooms before we unpacked but the answer was no. They promised that someone will come in and check on it but no one ever did. Mara fast service served food with quality of college cafeteria. When we stayed outside of Disney on our last trip we went to hotel and relaxed. If you are on Disney property you take a crowded bus that you might have to wait for for 20 min to a super crowded hotel. So it feels like you are always in the park. Few advices: 1. Do not stay in this hotel, stay outside you will save a lot of money and likely enjoy it more. 2. If you do stay in Animal kingdom lodge do not pay for room with Savana view. It's a scam. There are plenty of animal viewing areas in the hotel and the animals aren't alway there to begin with. 3. Do not buy dining plan. I did the math, it isn't worth it at all. You will end up overpaying for food. 4. Do not pay for photo pass. On our day at Magic kingdom we found one(!!!!!) photographer in the entire park. That is their biggest scam of all. Finally, any decent hotel answers positive or negative reviews on TripAdvisor. This one doesn't. Why? Simply because it doesn't matter to them. People will keep on coming in search for Disney magic. Do not look for it in Animal kingdom lodge !

"WORST Disney property I have ever experienced."

I have been a Disney Vacation Member since 1997 and have stayed at may properties. This is the most disappointing experience I have ever had. From the time we checked in until now disappointment after disappointment, People were miserable. No one welcomed us. I told the DVC folks and no one really cared. The rooms were OK but everything else was substandard. The trip to the parks was LONG. IT is so out of the way. This place is not worth your time and of course not worth the money! Disney - what's up????

"Family vacation "

Three generations of our family just spent a week here and had an amazing time. We had savannah View rooms which I highly recommend. However, this resort has so many public areas that are designed to give you maximum views of the savannah that it isn't absolutely necessary. Rooms are comfortable, especially the beds. Bathrooms are a little tight but tolerable. Restaurants here are THE BEST ON PROPERTY.
