Uw rondreis Florida is niet compleet zonder Orlando. Orlando is wereldwijd bekend als familiebestemming bij uitstek, met de vele magische themaparken, zoals Walt Disney World, Universal Studios en Sea World.
This was our first family trip anywhere. My wife and two kids (ages 1 & 4) simply loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms, excellent service, great restaurants, lovely pool area with lots of activities for the kids. BOMA restaurant is great we went for dinner and breakfast...the meal plan is a must. The resort is a tad far from Magic Kingdom and parks other than Animal kingdom. Bus rides to and from these parks can be a bit longer than other results but they come frequently. I don't think we waited longer than 10 mins for a bus. We had a room at the hotel with a partial view. Well worth it. Lots of animals to see kids loved walking up looking for giraffes and zebras.
"Holiday of a lifetime "
Just back from WDW with my husband and sons ages 11 and 7 . Stayed at Jambo house in a savanna view room. Room was lovely with great views. Atrium of hotel was stunning! We had a free meal plan as we booked last year.glad we did as table service dinner would have approached 200 dollars nightly. Remember gratuity is the American way and you should leave about 20 percent for good service . We spent about 500 dollars in server tips plus for the folk that cleaned our room. Really couldn’t fault jambo. The evening buffet at the boma was always lovely. Pool lovely and never crowded. We also watched a few movies under the stars when we had been at the parks .if I had to go again I wouldn’t have spent the extra money on savannah view as there are plenty of places to view the animals but would always try to get the free dining as even with this the holiday was over 10k for 2 weeks .was a dream come true!
"Housekeeping saved our day during unexpected trip issues"
So on Day 1 of our vacation, we discovered our son had broken his hand (and had to be driven into Orlando to get a cast), and our daughter spent the entire night and day sick. After so much planning, it was a stressful way to start our vacation. Housekeeping at AKL really made our whole trip less stressful - they brought full changes of bedsheets up to us four times in 24 hours (including at 2 am), and shampooed the carpet. I felt so bad to continuously call, but they never once made us feel bad - everyone seemed sympathetic, and we even got a call to ask how our kids were doing from the front desk. They also heavily disinfected our room when we were at the parks on Day 2. I have another comment about savanna view - we requested a standard room, but were somehow upgraded to an animal view. I never would have thought it was worth it to pay extra to have a hotel room where we could see animals, but it was so calming to sit on the balcony and watch the animals when we were hotel-bound the first day. Also, our kids are younger and we returned to the hotel room on days 2 and 3 around 2pm to cool off in the a/c hotel room for a few hours, and again, it was great to eat on our balcony and watch the animals. If you think you might be spending chunks of your day in the hotel room for rest or naps, I'd say it might be worth it to get a savanna view. Bottom line - we had unexpected medical problems our first day, and being in a hotel where housekeeping and bell hop service made us feel like it wasn't a big deal to need extra help was really great. And getting a call from the front desk to "check in" on the kids also made us feel good. (And the rest of vacation was amazing - parks and all.)
"BOMA restaurant all you can eat"
So we ate here this evening and the food was amazing, great selection for all the family, the ambiance of the restaurant is overwhelmingly fantastic. We booked online to reserves table the day before with no issues for a 7pm sitting for 2, maybe more difficult if there is bigger party number. $47 per adult Highly recommend eating here even if you are not staying at the resort like we weren’t, we travelled here via Disney springs transportation with g takes approx 20mins. You even get to see a small selection of animals such as giraffe, gazelles with some babies. Check out my Youtube vlog KPJPFLORIDA for more pictures and reviews.
"A Different Spin on a Disney Vacation"
I've always wanted to stay at this resort after visiting several times for dinner at Boma. We booked a standard room and were place in the main Lodge building right above the concierge desk. I was a little hesitant at first with the location because of the potential for noise. It turned out to be an optimal location. Our room was close to the exterior stairwell that led to the savanna and the main elevator bank was a short walk away. The stairs to the main lobby entrance was close so we ended up being close to the pool, restaurants and parking lot. The different savannas were great and it's amazing how much time you can spend watching the animals. We heard little to no noise the 4 days we were there. The only exception was during a rainy afternoon when the Castmembers put on drum show and the kids paraded around the lobby. It was nice to have an overhead view of the lobby activities for kids. There are quite a few kids at this resort but it didn't seem overrun like the Polynesian can get at times. The rooms here do seem to be smaller than other Deluxe resort rooms and the decor features a lot of large, dark wood furniture. The room we had had no view of the savanna due to a metal wall that sat behind the roof facade. The bathroom is very dark due to only having a single recessed light above the shower. You can gain more light by pulling the shower curtain open. One thing I really appreciated was the soap dish at the sink. Sounds weird but there's nothing worse than a slimy bar of hand soap when you're staying in a hotel for more than one night. The toiletries were the higher end, larger tubes of H2O with a bonus of a vanity kit and after-sun lotion. The fitness center was clean with plenty of equipment and was never full. I didn't see a Castmember manning the front desk but I also was there before 7 AM each day. The locker room was very clean and it made for a great option if we needed a place to freshen up after check out on departure day. We had a rental car so we didn't feel we were more than 15 minutes away from any of the parks, even with traffic. But given past experience with Disney Transportation, I definitely would opt to have a car handy if you're staying here. Disney started to charge for daily overnight parking the day we checked out so make sure you factor in the extra $24 daily for that. One complaint is the lack of open pool chairs in the fenced in pool area. We were there during Spring Break season but many guests would purposely occupy more loungers than they had family for to keep anyone from sitting near them. We ended up on loungers that surrounded the pool area in the general walkway area and it was a little awkward to be sunning with strangers walking by heading to their early dinner reservation. Overall, I would definitely stay here again but with factoring in the extra expense of having a rental car and parking fee. Also, I'm not sure if a savanna view room is worth the upcharge if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room.
