"Great Cast Member"

I recently stayed here and had the pleasure interacting with Jordan Hall in Sugar Loaf. He was amazing, always had a smile on his face and willing to help with anything. Set my mom and I up with fast passes that worked better with our schedule and made us feel like we were his only two guests. He truly understands what hospitality is all about. The Grand is lucky to have him. This will be a trip my mom and I will remember for ever. Thank you for everything, Jordan!

"Wonderful place to stay"

We stayed in a 1 bedroom- part of the villas. The room was super clean and spacious. We stayed here in August as well and ended up in the same room. The convenience is wonderful-when the monorail is working. The pool was great and the kids loved it.

"Things have certainly changed, haven't they..."

The Grand Floridian has always been my favorite resort. The architecture stands out amongst the rest. However, GF has gone from being a standout to just any other Orlando hotel. Don't get me wrong: its outer beauty is still there and it will take your breath away no matter how many times you've visited. But once you exit your vehicle it's all downhill from there. Disney outsources its valet services. Why they wouldn't give these jobs to Disney employees who would love extra hours, I'm not sure. The company they chose is called Bag Parks Services. One of their employees, Lauren, is an exceptionally nasty individual who has the patience of a sugar filled 5 year old and the tongue of a sailor. She attempted to rush me and my family while we collected our luggage. Speaking to her manager caused her to curse me out in front of her coworkers, Disney employees and other guests. This is the trash Disney has employed. After speaking to the resort manager who basically threw his hands up and said there was nothing he could do about it except give me a few extra fastpasses, I was pretty much done. Thankfully I never did run into Lauren again and hopefully after my email to guest services she has moved on to chew on greener pastures. For the amount of money being spent that type of behavior is disgusting and a sign of where Disney is at this point. The room was clean, there were no issues with the air conditioning, cleaning, housekeeping or even noise. The restaurants had plenty of openings and it wasn't very crowded. Except for the monorail. The monorail system is an outdated form of transportation. It's either not working or it's packed full of bodies which isn't comfortable or safe. The small boats aren't as fast but at least you can breathe. I didn't notice any rude employees at GF except for the lovely Lauren. But I also didn't notice any exceptional employees either. I think the days of excellent customer service are over for Walt Disney World. The cast members who were wonderful are now retired or headed there. Disney has given some of their most important jobs to students in their college program. And expecting 21 year olds to oversee what happens during expensive vacations is supposedly a bright idea. I did notice rude employees in the parks, especially Magic Kingdom, but I can't remember the last time MK wasn't a horror show. It's packed full of young families and again, 21 year old employees who would rather be at a bar. I think the villas are a complete eyesore and I wish GF would've added DVC in one of the existing buildings instead of adding the white dollhouse next to the resort. The villas have added additional traffic that the resort wasn't designed to handle. It doesn't seem to go with the theme of exclusivity and tranquility. Would I return to the Grand? I'm just not sure. If I want to be treated like trash there are other Disney hotels I could call home and spend a lot less money. Like the parks, the vision for some of the resorts has changed. GF was never supposed to be a place where you cook dinner in your room or put grandma on a pullout couch in your 2 bedroom villa or employ those who should be working at a mall. It was always about relaxation, fine dining and a safe, enchanting experience for the family.

"Nothing but the best"

The Grand Floridian is such a classy place. The decor on the inside and the cleanliness of the place makes the whole experience so enjoyable. When it gets near the holidays, the decorations are so big and wonderful, especially the ginormous Christmas tree in the lobby. The service was top notch and the kids had a really fun time. The access to the monorail was great and got us to the gates of the Magic Kingdom in ten minutes. The character breakfasts were really great and they had a lot of options for food, even the chef came out to discuss my mom's options because she has Celiac disease. Truly a class act.

"We really enjoyed ourselves"

We were here for a conference. The resort is gorgeous. Monorail makes it convenient to Magic Kingdom. 24 hour food court was excellent. Loved sitting in the lobby and listening to the band play. Wish we had more free time. Excellent view of Wishes.
