"Housekeeping with attitude "

My family has stayed at this hotel numerous times. We meet up for a reunion associated with the Freeplay Florida weekend yearly. The front desk was courteous, even though she forgot to give us our cookies which is part of the double tree experience. My room was on the 3rd floor and I asked a housekeeper if there was an elevator. She replied no and looked at me as if I had a third eye and made comments to her associate in creole in front of my face. My father has a bad leg and I knew there had to be an elevator. Again, another nasty attitude housekeeper that said the elevator was only for housekeeping staff. Oh so there is an elevator... I preceded to walk around to an adjacent building and guess what I found...AN ELEVATOR!! Then, I was ready to enjoy my weekend so I walked to the pool. The lock to the gate is 5.5 feet on top of the gate. I’m 4’11’’. So my son and I preceded to follow out of the gate a taller employee of the hotel, only to have the gate slam back on my son’s face. The employee/ security guard (possibly) was oblivious. I guess common courtesy is no longer common.

"Great three night stay!"

My husband, one year old daughter and I stayed at this property November 4th-7th. From checking in until check-out time, we had a wonderful stay. The food and beverage department was fabulous. We were always so tired in the evening from either Disney or the pool that we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner each night. The second evening we had Carlos as our server and he was so great the third evening we requested him by name to wait on us again! It was only his second day or something, and it was like he worked there for years! I would try and hold onto this employee! We spent three evenings by the pool bar and got to know Tara a little. She is by far the friendliest bartender I have interacted with in a long time. We had a little time on one of the slower evenings to hear about the loss of her son in the Pulse Nightclub shooting.... my heart really goes out to this woman and how strong of a person she is. Thanks Tara for being such a great bartender, I hope we come back next year to see you! Dan, one of the managers came by the pool bar and our dinner table one evening to check up on us... coming from a F&B Manager background myself, I could really tell the guy cared about his guests. As far as the front desk and bellman staff went, Bernie at the front desk and Richard the bellman were great! Bernie was overly nice when I went to get my keys remade for our consecutive stay (I don't think the girl at check-in knew how to do that, but I didn't want to tell her it was possible in the Hilton system, as I work on this system at work...) he was what all guest services employees should be friendliness wise! Richmond helped us with our bags at check-in (and we had a A LOT of bags with traveling with our daughter) and our bags were literally delivered within 2 minutes of us parking our car and getting to the room! Overall, a great stay. The rooms could definitely use some updating, as I feel they just threw some paint on the popcorn ceiling and some laminate flooring on the floors... but that would be a very BIG renovation with the number of outside access rooms that they have. The room was clean for the most part, but when I went to move the couch a few inches to fit my daughters pack n play in the room there was quite a bit of stuff under it... kinda gross. The window treatments and furniture are pretty worn and ready for replacement as well. The shower definitely needs some kinda fix, as the water went EVERYWHERE, but I am pretty sure the hotel already knows this. We will definitely be coming back just for the amazing staff and the availability of food and beverage! Thanks again.

"Great value and location!"

The decision to stay at this property was based on the hotel location near the convention center, and the price per night for my stay. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and transportation options made getting around very easy. I will definitely stay here again.

"I expected more"

My partner and I stayed for a week(we check out today) . I found a great deal on travel bag so thought we'd have a cheap bonus holiday to escape the UK weather! Check in was ok. We asked for a quiet room. On our(long) walk to block 6 it was immediately evident that it wasn't going to be a quiet room. After travelling for over 12 hours, we just wanted to rest but we were directly opposite the children's pool which had a very loud outdoor cinema. Not the best start. The room was ok though. Clean, fairly spacious and a good vanity area although it was very dark. As it's a motel style, the curtains were closed the whole week for privacy. Bathroom is tiny and the shower curtain was curved so the curtain didn't meet the edge of the shower base so every time we used it, it leaked all over the floor. The first night we noticed our aircon unit made a very loud intermittent vibrating sound and woke us up around 5-6 times. I reported it, engineer couldn't find anything wrong. 2nd night, same thing, no sleep. Reported again. Engineer said the cover was causing it, tightened it up. 3rd night, same problem....and so on. We were offered a room swap(and ear plugs!) late on the 5th night but by Thursday when I asked it wasn't ready to move into. By this time I'd had enough, I was tired and sick of getting no where with my complaints and I didn't want to vent my anger to the reception staff. We stuck with the ear plugs which weren't the best option. This was all handled badly. We were never offered anything in terms of an apology ie a free drink, breakfast, room upgrade , nothing! I should have persevered to get this sorted as I've had the worst weeks sleep ever but as we were on holiday, I didn't want this to ruin it or get us down too much! We'll visit Orlando again but we won't be staying here again.

"Avg Hilton"

Ok food, dated room, but the kind front desk staff made all the difference. Also, their complimentary cookies were fantastic. I think they depend on wedding bookings too much, to pay adequate attention to nightly guests
