Uw rondreis Florida is niet compleet zonder Orlando. Orlando is wereldwijd bekend als familiebestemming bij uitstek, met de vele magische themaparken, zoals Walt Disney World, Universal Studios en Sea World.
I previously rated this very poorly due to check-in/luggage problems on the first day (1/15/17). The following days were the extreme opposite and enjoyed everything this place offered. We did receive apologies for the first day and that meant a lot. We loved the sushi, the breakfast buffet choices, the east of getting to the parks and even the Bart and Homer characters who were very entertaining and even a little sassy. Would I stay here again? Yes, just next time I won't pack the swimsuits in the checked luggage.
"Amazing break in Orlando!"
I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks in July, my first visit to Orlando. We wanted to spend most of our time at the parks and this was ideal as we got fast passes included. The hotel was immaculate, the rooms spacious, toiletries, hairdryer and everything included. We had a pool view which was great, plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to choose from on site and a laundry room which was a lifesaver. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much bother. Plenty of places set aside for smokers too, of which I am one. The pool was busy but clean and floats etc provided and poolside entertainment too. I would highly recommend this hotel, I actually came away feeling like I'd had a holiday for a change. I wasn't aware but I had already booked Busch Garden and SeaWorld tickets separately, transport was laid on by coach from the hotel, for free which was an unexpected bonus. You could walk, get a bus or a boat to the parks and if you do the walk or boat you get your own separate security checks so no queing like you do from the bus drop off. It wasn't cheap but it was definitely worth it, amazing trip :-)
Very comfortable and fun. The pool was warm instead of cold. The breakfast food was fresh and tasted good. The beds were soft but not too soft. I loved the hand held shower option. The vanity was large and well lit. There was a small refrigerator in the room that was great for left overs from the restaurants.
"Very Disappointing Stay!"
The Royal Pacific was supposed to be our end of vacation highlight for our Florida family vacation. Instead, it was our most disappointing part of our trip. My daughters are huge Harry Potter fans, so we decided to do a Disney/Universal vacation this year (We have never been to Universal). We saved up to make sure they had a memorable, once in a lifetime experience. We spent one week at Disney (Port Orleans French Quarter) and I booked 6 days at the Royal Pacific, hoping to end the trip with Harry Potter and a luxurious, relaxing stay at a 4-5 star resort. This did not happen. We checked in on August 12th. Being a Saturday, it was quite busy, and our room was not ready, but we were early and that was to be expected. Getting our park tickets and express passes was very easy, and they held our luggage so we could go to the parks. A text arrived around 3pm letting us know that our room was ready. The room was quite nice, with a very nice tropical scent greeting us when we entered. This would be the last positive of our room we would experience. The next morning, we were woken up at 7:55 am by house keeping. So much for sleeping in! We politely told them we were still in the room and to come back later. Since we were up, we decided to get ready and head to the parks. This is when we noticed that our shower leaked. It took 3 of the 4 towels to clean the pool of water on the floor. Also, the coffee maker in our room was broken. On our way out, we informed the young lady at the concierge desk of the issues; she was apologetic and assured me that it would be taken care of. Off to the parks we went. We returned to the hotel at around 5pm, and our room was being cleaned. The housekeeping staff member would not let me in my room to retrieve some articles, and told me to come back in 15 minutes. So, we waited in the lobby for 15 minutes for our room to be cleaned. I don't quite understand why I am not allowed in my room (Since I paid for it) but whatever, 15 minutes later we were back in our room. After a hot day a the parks, we showered to get ready for dinner. This is when we noticed our shower was still not fixed. I addressed this issue again with the concierge desk, as my wife and daughters showered in the pool area as we were out of towels again. They apologized profusely and told me they would send someone from engineering up immediately. A gentleman arrived and confirmed that the shower was broken, but could only be serviced the next morning. I said that was fine, as we were going to Volcano Bay early that day. He told me that was perfect, and all would be fixed by the time I got home. We retuned from Volcano bay around 1pm, and the shower was not fixed, and our room was still not serviced. Back to the pool showers we went, and I voiced my disappointment again with the concierge desk. Again, they were very apologetic and said towels and house keeping would be sent up immediately. They also said the would expedite the fixing of our shower. The towels came, but that was it. Our room was not serviced Now, I am not one to complain, and I understand they were very busy, by I was starting to get upset. This is not what I paid top dollar for, and I called down to voice my displeasure. A nice young lady, Victoria, told me that this was not their level of service, and offered to compensate my parking fees for my visit (Why a 4.5 star resort charges for parking is beyond me, but that is another story). Again, I was told all would be rectified ASAP. We went out that night, and returned to, you guessed it, a broken shower. At this point I had had enough, and went to the lobby to talk to a manager. Three days in to our stay here, and I am showering in the pool area, and playing the waiting game with housekeeping and engineering. The manger agreed and offered a free night, but to me the damage was done. The housekeeping manger stopped by as well to reassure me that this was not how they operate and that he would check to see how my issues went unnoticed. Both managers agreed that this was unacceptable. However to me, the damage was done.I asked to check out early, as we realized we were not going to get the 4-5 star experience we were hoping for. The manager told me they would wave the cancelation fee of checking out early, and that I could keep my express passes. I was shocked that this is what they offered. While the passes are nice, after 3 days in the parks you have pretty much been on all the rides, so I do not think this is proper compensation for our troubles, but I was tired of talking to management. I am typing this review as we speak at another hotel in Orlando, trying to salvage the last 3 days of our vacation. I understand that issues happen but I really feel there is no empathy at this establishment. We saved up big time for this one time experience, and now it's gone. I guess when you are a popular hotel that is always booked, me not returning is not a big deal, as that room will always be filled. However, being the first Loews and Universal hotel we have stayed at, it has left a very sour taste in my mouth. I won't let it ruin my trip however, because Disney was amazing, The Harry Potter theming is exceptional, and I still have two more days in this wonderful city. Unfortunately it is a shame that they aren't at the Hotel we were looking so forward too.
"Paying for Convenience is why you stay here."
My family of four stayed overnight here on August 5th. We stayed here because of the convenience to Universal, early entry, and express passes. I am normally very thrifty on my hotel budget because our family really only sleeps there; however because of all the extras you get, it was a good bargain. Let me just say that having the express passes in Summer is a must. We never waited more than 10-15 min to ride anything! The hotel itself is very nice, clean, and the customer service is fantastic. The pool area is large and the water splash/spray area is fun for the kids. There were no chairs left at the pool in the middle of the day, but we found a place to keep our things. We ordered room service when we got back to the hotel and it was great after our long day. We also tried the Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar for their continental breakfast the next day when we were on our way back into Universal. They have a few hot items, yogurt, Juices, Coffee, and cereal. I was surprised they really didn't have much fruit. Of course it wasn't super cheap, but it was decent for a take away breakfast. My only complaint about the stay is that they didn't have enough pillows in the room. They had 2 regular pillows on each bed and a few throw pillows, but I guess I am used to having 4 regular pillows on each bed so each person can have two. On checking out, the staff told us that we could use their showers and facilities at the hotel after we were done at the park that day, which we didn't end up doing, but only because we got out of the park late. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is going to be spending time at Universal!
