"Lovely Hotel, Great Location"
Have just come back from a girls week away with my Mother and Sister. I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely this hotel was. We were upgraded to a suite with a large balcony and ended up with two double beds. Check in was at 3pm and our flight arrived at 6am! By 12pm we got a phone call to say our room was ready. The room was lovely and clean. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us and sitting on the balcony for breakfast over looking the mountains was beautiful or resting before bed with a nice breeze of a night was just as good. The beds were comfortable and I usually hate hotel pillows, but these ones were great (or I was just to tired after all the tours and shopping to notice??). We were on level 9 street facing (I had read it was really loud with street noise), we honestly didn't hear to much. Either we were so tired we slept through it or because it wasn't peak season??? Either way, we had no issue with street noise. The location of the hotel was great also. Two streets back from the beach and shopping strip and only one street back from where most of the tours pick up/drop off from. Everything was within easy walking distance. Unfortunately the weather wasn't all that great, so we didn't spend time at the pool. But it looked pretty. And there are so many wonderful restaurants around that we didn't eat at the hotel. The staff were lovely and Lydia from the tour desk was amazing booking our volcano tour on the Big Island for us prior to our arrival. The only thing I can say that I was disappointed in, was, when asking directions to places, we were never told about the trolley's we could catch and where to catch them from. We found out on our own and it did make life so much easier. For first timers to Waikiki and Hawaii in general, that information would have been great. All in all though, we really enjoyed our stay and we would stay at the Aqua Bamboo again.
"Felt like home"
A small hotel in Waikiki that offers a quiet environment and well situated. Close by, you have the only grocery store on Waikiki. A good thing considering that I had a kitchenette in my room. The bed was very comfortable. The closet offered spacious space and the kitchenette was fully equipped. I had a view on their nice pool that comes with a waterfall. Down at the pool area, you could have access to the BBQ, long chairs and tables. Vegetation made you feel far from the city. The lobby was very open and welcoming. There was access to fresh water and tea all day long. The staff was very helpful. I found it very special that when I got to my room on my last night, there was a letter for me along with a box of chocolate, to thank me for visiting the Aqua Bamboo.
"affordable hotel with excellent location"
Currently staying at aqua bamboo. I find it conveniently located for all our tours, restaurants, and walking distance to the beach. I like that I can take one elevator to go from my room to the parking garage which is below the hotel. Staff seems friendly and the rooms are clean. It has everything advertised. I am very happy, still have another five days here.
I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at this hotel. Before arriving a had read reviews about the property being old and dated and was somewhat concerned, but I kept my reservation since others people that I was traveling with were staying at this hotel as well and I wanted to stay with the group. I was traveling with my goddaughter and our flight was delayed and I called the hotel to let them know so they would not release our room to someone else. The attendant I spoke with was very nice and assured me that our reservation was secure. When we arrived at the hotel after midnight, the front desk clerk was extremely nice. He greeted me by name before I even gave it to him... you must be Mrs. ___ he said, we've been expecting you. He then went on to say I have good news for you...you have been upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. He checked us in quickly and gave information about complimentary morning services. When we got to the room it was very clean. I did find the hotel to be a little dated but this was actually a good thing as it gave the facility and our room a very appealing vintage look. On the table by the bed was a personalized welcome letter that I was very pleased to find. I appreciated the kitchenette area as even though we didn't cook anything the amenities were useful for heating and handling food items we had purchased. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the robes and our view from the balcony as these amenities helped with relaxation. As a part of my reservation I received a delicious complimentary scone from a quaint little muffin shop next to the hotel. There were also several little stores and shops right next to the hotel that were very convenient. The pool area was very pretty and the lobby was nice and clean. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I would stay here again.
"Valet Damaged Car, Hot Tub Broken, Poor Customer Service - AVOID"
My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon in September 2016. The rooms were decent, I do not have many complaints about them, however, they really screwed me over when they damaged my rental car during the stay. Upon checking out, valet the rear bumper on our rental car but did not tell us. Since the valet loaded our bags we did not see the dent until we got to the airport. The rental agency charged us for the damage, and even though I filed a claim with the Aqua Bamboo they denied it because we didn’t report the damage on site. They have sleazy kids working the valet, beware. Emails to customer service regarding the valet damage fell of deaf ears. That wasn’t the only issue. The hot tub was broken the entire time we were there. A lot of time there was no one at the front desk when we went down to get towels or speak to someone. They charge an $18 “resort fee†for no reason, it’s a hotel with a pool, that doesn’t even have a working hot tub. AVOID. Much better options in Waikiki.
