"Best Value in Waikiki"
We booked a one bedroom suite for our family of four. There were two twin beds in the entry room along with a full kitchen, and a double bed in the bedroom. It wasn't spacious, but was clean, comfortable, very charming, fantastic location just blocks from the beach and the open air market, and the price was very reasonable for Waikiki. There's a small pool with lovely landscaping. The service was very warm and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
"Great location "
Stayed for 6 nights at the Bamboo and really enjoyed the location. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach, close to different shops and venues. Tour pick ups are just around and are well organised. The room was comfortable and had a large queen bed, bathroom was a little dated with the shower over the bath. The swimming pool area was neat and tidy and it maintained each day. The staff were helpful without being overly excited. It is a 3 star hotel so don't expect perfection but any day in Waikiki is a great day
"Stayed here 4 times"
This is the only hotel I stay at when going to Hawaii. Been there 4 times so that says something if I keep coming back. I like the location- 2 blocks from the beach and around the corner from some good restaurants. They have a nice pool and hot tub, valet parking, and a few other basic amenities. I recently stayed there and by calling the hotel directly, we got an upgraded suite for the price of a basic room. Stayed on the 9th floor and had a huge patio with grill to ourselves, 2 mini fridges, a microwave and a stove. So, call reservations directly as opposed to going on those so called price slashing sites. This is a noisy place though and I have stayed on 4 different floors. You are on a busy street with bus traffic and garbage trucks loud enough to wake my toddler even all the way up to the higher floors. So if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs! Hawaii is expensive and even some of the cheaper hotels have a lot of tax. This place included with a daily hospitality fee of 18.00 and a "transient accommodation fee" of 20.00. Whether you use valet or park yourself at the garage next door, it's 25.00 a night. So, expect to spend at least 50.00 more a day than just the room fee. All in all, for 10 days, using daily valet, we paid close to 3,000 dollars for our stay. I don't remember it being that expensive any of the other trips, so we may have to start saving sooner or figure something out for next time. I would stay here again though ....
"Stll waiting for a response"
Aloha, Stayed in May 2014 in a 1 bedroom suite, with a well appointed kitchen. Room was clean, beds comfortable, there was a lot of street noise from Kuhio ave, but bearable. The pool area and the Lovin oven restaurant was good and not too crowded. Free cold drinks in the foyer area and use of beach chairs. Now for the but... I left the hotel to do some sightseeing, 1 of the hotel bellman named Raymond assumed that we had all had gone sightseeing, but my wife and kids stayed in the pool area. My wife returned to our room to hear rustling of shopping bags in the main bedroom, she thought someone had broken in to our room. My wife went into the bedroom and was confronted by bellman "Raymond", he was standing near an open wardrobe where all our shopping bags were and the in room safe. Raymond made some poor excuse about washing on the balcony, and he was dropping off our departure gift (we still had 2 days before checkout). My wife told him we were not checking out and he should check his list, Raymond then said " I better wear my glasses next time" and left. My wife checked our belongings went and checked on the children, and then reported the incident to the front desk. They said that they will report this to the manager and she will be in contact. The next day my wife was asked by the front desk staff to write a statement of what occurred which she did straight away. The only correspondance we have received to date is an email from the area general manager, Kahealani Colon, the day after we had left Hawaii, saying that she agrees that this incident needed investigating and he would be in touch ina few days to advise the outcome of their investigations. My wife sent follow up emails to see what were the outcomes of their investigation.....radio silence, and we didn't ever actually get our departure gift. Up until this incident, our stay at the hotel was excellent, the front desk staff and the other bellmen we're helpful and friendly and we would have definitely revisit this hotel in the future. Very disappointed nobody from the hotel has contacted us inspite of the follow up emails. We have waited until now to post this review in case a response was received. Disappointed to have heard nothing further..... Mahalo BTW I visited Waikiki December 16 and stay at another hotel (14 days) because of this incident
"You get what you paid for"
I was unable to get a room at the usual hotel chains. Apparently, there was a marathon the week I was there. Hence, I booked one night here based on all the good reviews. I saw the pictures before coming here and kinda knew what I was going in for. But the pictures on TripAdvisor looked soo much better than in person. The room was dark but clean. It provided basic toiletries, a mini kitchen with lots of supplies, and a small balcony. If you're looking for a place that's close to the beach, the price here is reasonable. However, I saw a roach in the bathroom and it ruined my whole night. I was glad I only booked it for one night. All the staff there were very friendly and made sure we knew about the marathon, road closures, etc. They even gave me a Macy's discount pass!
