"Great holiday with hustle "

We had a great first trip to Waikiki loved where the hotel was situated yes there is hustle & bustle but that’s what we loved the hotel itself has the one of the best out of four of the beach areas at the front, the down side is the pool has very limited shade for families, they really need to invest in umbrellas so I would have to choose another hotel for my children to stay or pay the $50 dollars a day for 2 beach chairs with umbrellas. The adjacent hotels have much more shaded areas. Rooms were clean & well sized. I think Most places are quite dated so don’t expect too much. I loved Dukes Bar and the fish Tacos were amazing. I’m not a big fan of breakfast in Hawaii as we are very spoilt in Sydney. There are so many places to eat and all within walking distance. Hire a car and drive around to the North shore

"Location, location, location"

Stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort in October 2017 for a week. This is the second time I have stayed here. The hotel itself is very clean and provides all services you require from a quality hotel. It's all about the location as it is centrally located for restaurants, shopping and bars. The greatest part of the location is it is located on the beach. It's down stairs and on to the beach you go. You can't beat the location. If I have a complaint and it's a small one, the ocean view room I had was directly above a massive air conditioning unit. Being a light sleeper it was hard to get to sleep from the continuous noise. Putting this aside this place is great.

"Fourth Visit and More in My Future"

This was my fourth stay at this location and I will definitely be planning another visit. The hotel location is centralized on Waikiki Beach which provides a beautiful view of Diamond Head, surfers all day and glorious sunsets. The room provided just enough space, the housekeeping staff was attentive and friendly. The restaurants within the hotel offer everything from a buffet option, burgers and quesadillas @ Duke's, sandwiches and salads at Pai's Deli, to steaks at Chuck's or the Hula Grill along with the local fish choices. The only thing I miss is that the Deli used to offer shaved ice, which was wonderful when you needed to cool down from the pool. Walk out the back and you have your choice of pool or beach. What more could you want?? Walk around the lobby or out the front of the hotel and your credit card could suffer third degree burns with all of the available shopping options. Every single staff member we interacted with, from check-in, wait staff and sales personnel, personified the Aloha spirit! Like all hotels in Hawaii there is a resort fee, $30/day which provides free Wi-Fi connectivity and also allows free use of the Waikiki Trolley around Honolulu. This could be better explained at check-in and should just be included in the price up-front or offered as an option versus coming up as a separate payment, but I think that's an overall Hawaii issue. My only critiques: 1. The mattresses probably need to be turned more frequently. my bed had a definite sag on the nightstand side, since that's where everyone would sit on the bed. I flipped it myself and it was fine. We were above the kitchen delivery area and although there wasn't any noise from the kitchen, the bottle breaking and dumping was a bit loud at ties and occurred a little later into the night than I liked.

"Mostly positive..."

Stayed here for 8 days on a second leg of honeymoon with partner from the UK. Experience is mostly positive but a few things I would mention: 1- Had a 12 floor partial ocean view room. The ocean view as 'partial' at best and I was quite disappointed with the room; dated, small and not quite what I expected. I'm sure a full Ocean view room would have been far better however so in hindsight would have paid the extra for this. 2 - lifts. The lift system must be the most annoying one I have ever come across; you have to swipe your card outside before you can use the lift and this means you have to wait for your specific lift rather than jump in with other guests. Seemed a bit frustrating to me and unnecessary. 3- Waikiki. First time there and was quite taken aback at how busy/noisy it was even in October. Essentially it's just a city plonked on a man made beach. Whilst the beach is impressive and water amazing it's smaller than I expected and Outrigger's pool is too small and busy to use daily. Also, sunbeds are $60 dollars a day which is crazy given the hotel cost, so take some beach mates for under your towels. That said, the staff at the hotel were great and very helpful. Breakfast in both Hula Grill and Dukes was great (we had breakfast included) and the hotel is Ina. Great spot, central to everything in Waikiki. Overall, we would probably go back but book a seafront room. Best advice I could give however would be to stay a few days in Waikiki then hire a car and get out of Waikiki- the island has so much. Ore to offer outside the huddle and bustle of the town. Spend a few days on the East and North Coast (lots of places to stay) to see the amazing beaches and scenery, and if you have the time visit the other islands and get around - Hawaii is an amazing place and cannot wait to see more of it!

"Hawaii first timer "

Stayed only one night before boarding our cruise ship but was very impressed with the staff and cleanliness of the hotel. We ate at Dukes restaurant for dinner. The service was great and the food was delicious! We ate breakfast the next morning at Hula Grill. Again the service was great and the food delicious. View of the beach was spectacular! Thank you Outrigger for a great start to our Hawaiian vacation!
