"New years 2016"
BEAUTIFUL, have come back every year for chatham first night, love the inn and the staff. Big thank you to Mark at the front desk for making us feel welcome every time. The first night dinner is always excellent. Looking forward to tomorrow night.
"Great location but a bit noisey"
We stayed for a short time at the Chatham Wayside Inn suite with a jacuzzi and fireplace. However, the jacuzzi was advertised as a 2 person but my husband couldn't fit his legs in it alone without anyone else in there. The fireplace was awesome but even at setting 1 it was so hot we were roasting and had to turn it off. We found it be comfortable and the linens to be great quality. We were woke up at 6am with guests slamming the hall door and the front door on their way out which was a bummer since we have two babies at home and were so looking forward to extra sleep or actually sleeping through the night. We found the food to be a gem, really awesome quality but very expensive at that. Overall, in the summer this place would be great but in the winter we would probably pick another place that was more on the quiet side.
This is an historic inn which has been updated. Although the exterior still looks "historic," the interior looks about like any other place you've been. This is not a bad thing if you are essentially looking for a comfortable place to lay your head for a couple of nights. I would not, however, characterize it as very "cozy" or "romantic." As others have said, the very best thing about this Inn is its location in the center of Chatham's Main Street. The town of Chatham IS romantic and cozy, especially this time of year when it's decorated to the nine's for the holidays. Unlike many other Cape towns, the shops are all still open and well-stocked; Chatham has a large "First Night" celebration every year and the shopkeepers hang around in anticipation of it, I guess. Besides all the shops, you can walk to the beach (probably about a mile down Main St.) and a nicely restored little movie theater. There are, of course, lots of good restaurants, bars, and coffee shops all along Main St. Our chief issue with the Inn was the low quality of the continental breakfast they provide. While it's nice they provide this gratis off-season, it seems they could up their game considerably without too much extra effort. How about a selection of all natural/organic cereals/breads/granola bars instead of Kellogg's and Quaker? And, unappealingly, all the breads and pastries were obviously recently removed from the freezer and still cold. Again, how about some better quality muffins/bagels/pastries? -- not hard to find in a town like Chatham. On the bright side, there was fresh fruit both whole and cut, (although the cut fruit was not ripe) and plentiful coffee. C'mon Wayside Inn -- at $200 plus a night off-season for your least expensive rooms, you could swing for some decent, not-just-out-of-the-freezer muffins!
"A charming place"
Very nice historical building, located in the very center of Chatam, within walking distance of shops, art galleries and to almost any restaurant. Our Queen Room was very large and comfortable, with a lot of space (we were a family of four), a porch and a small private garden. There is a nice pool with towels service included. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitively a great place to be.
"Weak Billing procedures - leaves bad taste"
Very nice hotel with a perfect location. However, seemingly unfair billing left a bad taste in my mouth. Booked a room for "Up to 5" online for $240. After checking out, they added $65 because we had four people. Apparently the $240 rate is for two people?? A room is a room. And nowhere, when I booked online, did it ask me "how many people, because the rates are different". NOT COOL. I guess by being the best located hotel in Chatham, they can be a bully and make up any rules they want
