Old hotel but has character. Rooms are dated and need an upgrade. Carpets are dirty. Bed squeaks when you climb in and move. Bathroom door was coming away from the door rail and had to be lifted up to close. Restaurant is suppose to be one of the top in the nation. It was ok but I would not rank it that high. I have had significantly better at other hotel restaurants. In the morning the water filling a bath or shower from the next door room was so loud it woke us up. It was louder than my iPhone alarm!
"Car battery rescue! and the best lobster roll."
Thank you to Jerrica and Jake and the Daniel Webster Inn for rescuing me when my car battery died! Also, one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever eaten in 13 plus years in the Boston area. My car battery died while I was at the library across the street from the Daniel Webster Inn. I waited ~1 hour for help (it was the busy Summer vacation season) and had to be back in Hyannis in less than an hour. In desperation, I ran across the street to the Daniel Webster Inn, and Jerrica at the front desk asked Jake, the Assistant General Manager if he find someone to help me. Instead, he stopped what he was doing and drove his truck to the library to give my car a jump start. He wouldn’t accept anything from me and said that The Daniel Webster Inn is hospitality oriented, whether or not you are staying there. I didn’t know either of them or anyone at the Daniel Webster Inn, nor did anyone know me. Jake re-started the car so quickly that I had time to order two lobster rolls to go. I had them in hand in under 10 minutes, and this during the lunch rush hour during Summer. They were absolutely delicious; huge 1-2 inch chunks of the freshest, sweetest lobster in a delicious light sauce. Not tiny chopped overcooked pieces of lobster. My mouth waters at the memory. I have eaten at the Daniel Webster Inn in the restaurant and at the bar for over 10 years though Jerrica and Jake didn’t know that at the time. This is why I’ll always stop in for the great, traditional Cape Cod atmosphere and hospitality whether it’s for a formal dinner or to watch a baseball game at the bar, where other diners both locals and tourists there are friendly and ready to share a laugh and a happy moment. I have also bought presents at the gift shop as they have a lot of unique items prices that aren’t the usual tourist stuff in a range of prices from expensive to inexpensive. Over the years, I’ve bought an unusual makeup/coin purse as a gift, Christmas ornament, gift jewelry, and other things. In the past, during a cold Winter, I’ve sat at the fire in the reception area and ordered a coffee from the restaurant area to drink it there. The Daniel Webster Inn is quintessential Cape Cod at its best, with a great combination of the traditional and the new. If you visit at the Daniel Webster, you’ll keep a forever memory of the real Cape Cod.
"dinner at daniel webster inn"
We were looking forward to a meal at this Inn. The meal was terrible. Two of us ordered the filets which we ordered med. well. They were really rare when they were served. One of us ordered sea bass which was really very bland. We ordered a bottle of wine which we paid $44 for and which sells in the store fore $10.99. What a rip-off. With all the restaurants available in that area, we will never go back!
"Hotel Well kept"
I liked that hotel had everything onsite. Restaurant, spa , pool, free parking, and dinning. Had great food and good service. I would recommend. Note that the pool area is next to where there are weddings so an afternoon dip has to be planned accordingly. But great over all.
"Everything needed in Sandwich"
Excellent hotel. Central, easy to find, clean, thoughtful and knowledgable by staff. Very comfortable, relaxed environment. Did not see many young children or families staying, though they could easily accommodate. Detail: A foot step to get up onto the high beds. Sweets and tea served in the afternoon. If you have expectations of modern and trendy you may want to try another town. This is hotel is a wonderful reflection of Sandwich....quaint, friendly hospitality, historical, homestyle.
