"Quintessentially New England"
This is a venerable property located in the heart of Sandwich Village, and although the facilities themselves are perhaps getting a little worn, it remains a genuine pleasure to visit. Most recently, we went for dinner in March 2017. There are three dining venues, specifically the Conservatory, the Tavern, and the Music Room. It is strictly a matter of personal preference, but we prefer the Tavern, comprised of one room with the bar itself and several tables, adjoining the primary dining area including a wood-burning fireplace and Colonial wall décor, all of which create a great atmosphere. First course was nothing short of remarkable, that being the Cheddar Guinness Jalapeno soup. The management should seriously consider making it a permanent fixture -- it is that outstanding. Our main course was beef tenderloin tips, cooked to perfection and deliciously seasoned. Our son's cheeseburger came from the standard-fare children's menu, and was very good in its own right. The grapenut custard dessert was decent but not of the same outstanding caliber as the earlier courses. Regarding service, there seemed to be a minor staff shortage, but our server, Dustin, was excellent and handled everything well. For a very good value, the early evening prix fixe menu is tough to beat -- a three-course meal for $25.00, provided you are seated by 5:45. Overall, this property remains a very special place and is a must-stop when in the area.
"Elegant, Timeless and Cozy"
Stayed there while taking our daughter to the Polar Express Train. The room was beautiful. I cannot say enough about the heated floors, hot tub and the fireplace! I highly recommend the tavern for dinner and breakfast is amazing! Staff is friendly and accommodating. All in all great experience!
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet! The food was excellent, we were only a few minutes from the Cape Cod Canal. We enjoyed the glass museum, the walking path on the canal, and the wonderful restaurants both at the inn and in the neighborhood. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable. We will be doing this again!
Me and my husband went to dan'l Webster inn for our fifteen years anniversary we got an upgrade to the presidential suite. We needed the time away together and the stay was awesome the staff were very friendly
"Wonderful (honest!) Staff and Beautiful Inn"
We stayed at the Inn during a Blizzard with 30 MPH winds and over 12" of snow. Thankfully there was no power outage, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. There were absolutely no issues caused by the storm; the staff made it in for breakfast and the parking lot was plowed. I realized after my return home that I had left my watch in the room. It was an expensive gift from my husband, but when I called the Inn they searched for and found it, and overnight-ed it back to me before he could even know I'd lost it. I am SO grateful for their honesty and help. The Inn itself is beautiful and warm (2nd floor rooms are much nicer than 1st). Be sure to read the Inn's history before you go as it is pretty impressive.
