Stayed here in May 2018. It is a clean hotel. Nothing fancy but the rooms were fine and clean. Staff was nice. Breakfast was again nothing fancy but free. Good location. You can walk to many of the attractions Memphis has to offer. We would stay there again.
I stayed here with my Father for 5 days and used it as our bases while we travelled around Memphis, Tupelo and Arkansas. I would normally comment on a member of staff that stood out, however there was no one individual. All staff were amazing, from the maids, check in staff, breakfast staff, maintenance and security team. All of these people made our stay wonderful and were so welcoming and pleasant. One night our air con broke, we reported it and it was repaired immediately. I noted that one visitor said they were put off by staff members eating at breakfast. Personally I enjoyed eating and talking to the staff, it certainly wasn’t something that would be spoil my day. Car parking at $12 was perfect with no problems. Free breakfast was pretty basic but a wide range and everything that was needed to get us through to lunch. My favourite thing and also my only complaint was the cookies! They were amazing every afternoon.... until the weekend when they were not there. I was gutted...Such a great gesture and a lovely treat when coming back from a long day out. I would highly recommend this hotel and would certain visit again. Thank you everyone at The Comfort Inn.
"Met expectations "
Flying visit to Memphis as part of a road trip and was looking for somewhere with parking downtown. The Comfort Inn fitted the bill and delivered what we were expecting. A little tired but very clean with very large rooms even by American standards, with all the amenities you'd need. Breakfast was ok, made better by the make your own waffles....its the little things.... We had a side view of the Mississippi but we spent very little time in the room, so didn't matter what we could or couldn't see.
I will start with the positives. This hotel is in a great location, 10 minutes walk from Beale St and over the road from the Mud Island monorail. It also offers a later check out than most hotels at 12.00 noon. There is tea/coffee available all day in the reception area and our room had both a fridge and microwave. Check in was good and the lady who greeted us on reception was very friendly (as were all staff). Car parking is available on site at $12 per day (come and go as you please). The big downside occurred at breakfast. On the first day a couple of staff members were having breakfast and others were conversing and joking with them rather loudly. Unfortunately it did make us feel uncomfortable as if we were intruding into their private area, another couple who we spoke with had the same feeling. The next day once again several staff were in the breakfast area and they were somewhat loud again which ruined any hope of a quiet breakfast. The same situation applies to the swimming pool where non guests seemed to outnumber guests. I know that this posting may make me appear to be a snob but if staff members are to enjoy the breakfast they need to be mindful of others and keep the noise down somewhat. If it were not for that I would award this hotel 4 stars.
Going to Memphis for the music fest and we needed a place to stay. The location was a little further down the road than some other hotels but the price seemed like a deal. We ended up driving at the last minute, very reasonable parking for a city. The staff was always friendly, welcoming and willing to answer questions. We were lucky enough to get a top floor, corner room with a view. The room was huge and comfortable. I must say Comfort Inn isn't usually a brand I go to, but this stay changed my opinion.
