"Great hotel "

This hotel was great! Nice clean rooms with white down comforter, so you can see that they are clean, fluffy comfortable pillows. Friendly staff. CVS next door in case you need something. Liquor store across the street. Close proximity to Bourbon St, but not so close that you have to listen to it all night. Close to street car stations.

"Mediocre but satisfied the basic needs"

The superstar at this property is Vernon. He's probably a houseman. He was so kind and offered southern hospitality simply by offering to get ice, welcoming me at the lobby, even just vacuuming around property. He is a wonderful man The door to my room did not shut all the way. It was not a security hazard as once it was closed it could not be opened by anybody however there is clearly a half inch or more gap which meant every single sound from the hallway came into the room. The phone, which was grainy, shows a room service button but there was no information in the room about how to order. I eventually figured out on my own that you could order food from the restaurant next-door. But there was nothing in the room to help the guest understand how to order food. I did not need housekeeping service every day. I went to the front desk to advise of skipping husker keeping service that day. I thought I was helping as I work in a hotel as well, and I know how frustrating it can be to see your privacy sign but not know if it is intentional or if the guest will still want cleaning service. As I was leaving that morning, I stopped at the front desk to let them know that I would not need service. The young lady at the desk looked at me as if I had a third eye. She asked me "did they tell you they were coming". I didn't understand why she would ask that. I said that nobody had contacted me but that as I was leaving I saw the housekeeping cart in the hallway. She repeatedly asked me if somebody told me housekeeping was on his way. Then I asked if I could have change for a $50 bill. Young lady did not respond but rather just pointed at the guy next to her. Unfortunately, the young men had a very hard time counting out $50. It took him quite some time and he went back-and-forth between two pouches of cash before he finally gave me the breakdown of $50. he was very kind, and was trying to do well. The young lady just seem to be in a bad mood. Both agents nametags that said that they were a front desk "trainee". I don't understand why you would have two people training at the same time with nobody else around to guide them. Where is the training? There was a young man in the lobby that was fantastic. I regret that I did not get his name. I hope this is not offensive in anyway but his hair was awesome, and reminded me of "kid n play". Overall the stay was fine. The location is amazing for obvious reasons. But again, working in the hotel myself, I know that a little more hospitality would have changed my opinion for mediocre to better

"Great Location"

I really liked the fact the hotel was on Royal. Not far from the craziness but not in it either. We did park a car. That was expensive however, very convenient to park and get out of the French Quarter. They would have received 4 stars but for some reason we did not have room cleaning service 2 of the 4 nights. One time we may have left the sign on the door. The next day we made sure the sign was off. Complained about it to the front desk and their reply was "sometimes that just happens". What?

"The big easy..."

I recently had a business trip in New Orleans. My conference was at the Ritz Carlton but I opted to stay at the Wyndham. It was a nice property - adequate rooms, friendly staff and walking distance to many eating and shopping places. There were two drawbacks: the room I stayed at facing Royal Street (on the 14th floor) was very noisy. All of the street sounds were right there. Also, the sidewalks surrounding the hotel were filled with street people after dark. It was a little daunting at times.

"Wyndham New Orleans"

If it weren’t for the dingy bathtub and mold in the bathroom, I would have given this Hotel an above average experience. Take some Bleach to the bathtub and wall!!
