"Little oasis in Death Valley"
Well, being in the middle of Death Valley one would expect the bare minimum to be in place at Stovepipe wells. Well I was wrong on that assumption. This was a fantastic resting place in Death Valley with mast creature comforts, the wifi wasn't the best however if you're going somewhere just for the wifi you might as well stay at home. The breakfast was plentiful, the local tipple was brilliant and the staff were entertaining. If you want somewhere that is a mix of creature comforts with a dash of rustic charm this would be a good bet. Yes it was a little more pricey then some places in the US for items but I can say that it is worth it! Plus you can stargaze just a few steps from your bedroom!
"Perfect Location in the Park"
Stovepipe Wells is a really good location in the National Park. The Village has everything that you would need and the hotel is quite comfortable. In addition to the hotel, there are two places to eat, gas, a general store and a gift store.
"Great place! Loved every minute and can't wait to come back"
Will return in October. It is very very hot in July. Friendly staff. Great rooms and air conditioning. Restaurant and bar top notch with fresh and good food and lots of craft beer on tap. Loved it and will come back :-)
"Loved this place"
We had no idea what to expect of Death Valley at all, but wanted to visit. We travel with our dog and this was the only place that allowed dogs. Betting so far out in the middle of nowhere we were not expecting much and were very pleasantly surprised. Stovepipe Village makes you think of how the old West really was. Lots of artifacts around add to the feeling. We entered our room and were immediately delighted. It was immaculate and very nicely decorated. The towels were very good and I loved the dispensers in the bathroom for soap etc. Three was a nice flat screen tv and the only thin lacking were additional electrical outlets. With everyone bedding to charge their phones and cameras, it was a bit difficult. The gift shop is nice and we'll stocked and the general store is also. The grounds are nicely kept and so is the pool. We really enjoyed it tike Herr.
"Our fifth stay and probably not our last"
Everytime we visited Death Valley we've stayed at Stovepipe Wells. We've booked the deluxe room. The first time we were there we've booked the standard room, but this room just did not offer enough comfort. The staff was very friendly and they help you anyway they can, but checking in before 4 pm never seems possible. Luckily you do get acces to the pool with some towels to wait until the room is ready. The pool is quite simple, but we always love it there. It's never too crowded and there are always enough free beds to relax by the pool. There is also a nice patio roof if you like to stay out of the hot sun. The rooms were recently updated. Have good airconditioning (not too loud), a large fridge and a big screen tv. Great thing about this hotel is that you can always park your car right in front of your room. Tip if you stay there: Drive to the Dunes when it's completely dark to watch the stars. Haven't seen that much stars anywhere in my life and when I come back to Death Valley, this is always te first on my to do list. It's an experience you'll never forget.
