"Good Choice for Grand Canyon Visit"
Yavapai Lodge is a series of motel like building in the newer section of the South Rim. Our room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The lodge is not on the rim, but there is an excellent shuttle bus service throughout the south rim areas. The room had a TV and refrigerator but no in room WiFi.. This is a good family facility. The lodges are located in the forest, so there is no view. But you might see deer and elk around the buildings.
"Yavapai Lodge - West"
The Grand Canyon was on our Bucket List! We spent one night in the Canyon at the Yavapai Lodge -West. It was wonderful staying right inside the park. Our room was very cozy & clean. Coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and hair dryer included. We loved that we were able to park the car right at our door. Be sure to take a flashlight as it gets pitch-black at night, if you're checking in after sunset, it can be a little difficult to find your room.
"nice remodeled unit on west side"
The unit was recently remodeled and very large, if you had 2 queens you could have two children in it. There was a refridgerator as well. The restaurant nearby with pub had cafeteria- style food, we did not eat there, but they also had pizza which looked very good. There is a very good grocery store as well, and a large laundromat near the camping. The only down side, we went into the village and had dinner at El Tovar Lodge, and you had to relocate your car and find a parking place, taking the bus back at night a bit dark and not great, but perfectly doable. If you can stay in the Village, it has advantages, but this is a very good option if the village t is full, and very peaceful.
the room are ok very basic, older style not luxury. Stay at the A/C area, price is high compare to the ones just outside the park only 5 minute drive less than half price and Brand chain company. No pools or entertainment for kids only a store. The tub was plugged to my family had to shower with a tub full of water. Paid $300 for only sleeping there for one night, I liked the park a lot but will stay outside next time. Restaurant food was cold and very expensive for Breakfast was around $80 for four people. I did complained to front desk about the tub issue but I did not see any interest since we were already checking out.
Stayed in building 6... 2nd floor The room is limited in space due to two queen beds and a bunk bed. The bed and pillows ... hands down!!!! Comfortable... comfortable... heavenly sleep. Ahhhh... these makes the score excellent for me. Grand Canyon never ceases to amaze. Book in advance. But if you have not booked 6 months to a year prior do not fret. Still try. I got lucky i got 1 night - there must have been a cancelation. The best way to enjoy Grand Canyon is to stay inside the park.
