"Great location and service, rooms not so good"

The snow was spectacular, making for a beautiful view at the Inn and all over town. As most have mentioned in their posts, location can't be beat, just a few steps across the road and you're off skiing. If you have children in ski school, you'll be happy to know that the ski school is super close to the Inn. It is convenient that you can buy lift tickets, ski school lessons and rent ski's right from the lobby. It is a very small rental shop, so don't wait to rent your skis in the morning, as the lines are long and could easily take you over an hour to get your equipment. Try and hit the rental shop the night before, beware they do close early, I believe at 4pm. As mentioned the service at the Inn is wonderful. Having stayed at the Inn many times, I intentionally booked a room in the main lodge, where you can come in from the snow and immediately relax, no need to bundle up to go to dinner or a bar. However upon arrival at the front desk, I was told that our room was not in the main lodge. I agreed to go check out the annex building. As it was snowing and very windy, the walk to the annex building was very unpleasant and I new I wouldn't want to deal with the walk each day. The halls in the annex building were old, dirty and smelled. The room was clean but small , dark and extremely tired and out dated. When I went back to the front desk to let them know that I wouldn't be staying in the Annex building, they were extremely accommodating. They made a great effort to get me into the main lodge (although I did have to pay to upgrade the room) . The rooms in the main lodge are also outdated, however, our loft room was bright and had a great view of the mountain ski area. We ate at the bar for dinner each night and the bar staff is fabulous (bar and dinning room menu are the same , bar has a much better view). We found the food to be very good. I'm pleased to say that they did have a kids menu, but it is considerably limited, kids tired of the same food each night. Kids menu features Mac & Cheese, grilled cheese sandwich or chicken nuggets. Overall ,the Inn is a good choice due to location and service just be prepared for old, outdated rooms, and always ask for the main lodge .

"Impeccable Staff"

My family has been staying at the MMI for about 20 years at least 4 times per year. I have to commend the staff for making each and every stay as nice as can be. On arrival, the bell porters greet you with a huge hello always remembering our name and without asking they assist with luggage and skis. 2 weeks ago, we were leaving MMI during a blizzard and Ryan (bell porter) assisted with getting the car ready to travel through the blizzard. He was extremely knowledgeable of the situation and locating tire chains. Josh, from the rental shop at the MMI is also an incredible addition to the MMI team. And Heidi Wilson always makes sure our stays at MMI is perfect, each stay has been perfect. Great job to all. Jeff & Susan Marcu

"Raving Fans"

We rolled in at 2am for our presidents week visit at MMI. Adam and Lori assisted us with securing a loft room in the main building. Adam also helped us haul gear from SUV to room at 3am in crazy blizzard. Ryan (bellman) scored us a parking spot in annex garage, didn't need to worry about shoveling the entire week. We requested Ryan at checkout too, made everything seem less. Customer service from everyone restaurant, gift shop, childcare, shuttle drivers, all on point! Looking forward to our next! Respectfully, The Peyton's

"4 Season's Customer Service at MMI!"

We typically stay at the Westin but couldn't get a room for our large party this trip. Admittedly I was slightly concerned our experience wouldn't be up to par with the Westin especially since the Inn is much older, but I was gladly mistaken. Everyone at the Mammoth Mountain Inn should receive five stars for customer service and professionalism, especially Cade, one of the hotel managers. Cade immediately addressed a couple minor issues we had during our first day and stayed in touch throughout our stay to ensure our crew was fully pleased. The house keeping and maintenance staff were super friendly and keep the rooms very clean. The proximity to the mountain is unparalleled and the views of the mountain (as you can see from the picture I took from our living room) are gorgeous. Some of the rooms are a bit dated, but the service and location make up for that. If you're traveling with a few couples or a group of friends, I'd recommend splurging on the Pinnacle Suite. It is an ultra modern, luxurious and extremely comfortable suite with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, private balcony, fire place, several flat screen TVs, entertainment system in the living room, five star kitchen and awesome views of the mountain. We will certainly be back to visit the Mammoth Mountain Inn! Thank you Cade and the rest of the staff for making my wife's birthday ski weekend one for the record books!

"Beautiful Slopeside VIew and Luxury Accomadations"

Check in was super quick and easy, with a helpful and friendly staff. Our second floor room looked right out to the gondola with an amazing view of the unbound park. The room also had a loft with a second king bed that could have slept 2 couples comfortably. Waking up doesn't get better than looking out to the peaks glowing soft orange as the sun rises illuminating them and revealing the rest of the freshly groomed mountain. At home it's hard for me to get up early, but the king bed had me feeling like I caught up on weeks of sleep ready for a day on the slopes. Ski and board access to the lifts was too easy, just a walk out the front door of the hotel and you are at a hub of express lifts taking you to almost any part of the mountain.
