Two nights in a king room with a fireplace. The room was spacious with ample furniture - chairs, tables, lamps, desk. The gas fireplace was a plus, but the weather was so warm in march that we had no need for it. The bathroom had ample space as well with a nice tub/shower. The best part was the staff at the front desk and the maid service. Everyone had a nice word and a warm smile. The restaurant was a nice addition. Good food, excellent service. We had both breakfast and dinner there. It is within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf.
"Great stay at Casa Munras"
My stay at the hotel was great. Accommodations were very nice and our room and the fireplace which was a bonus. at time of check-in Catharina helped us and it was very nice, professional and valued us as a customer. Highly recommend this hotel for stays in the Monterey area.
"One night at Casa Munras"
We needed a one night stay in Monterey and liked being near Old Town. The single king room was small, but very clean and comfortable. We didn't need more space for a short stay. Also very quiet, even though it appeared full with the available parking full. The breakfast package was nice with a real restaurant on site. Would definitely stay there again.
"Very good. No complaints!"
I was in Monterey for business for one week and stayed at Casa Munras the entire time. I enjoyed my stay there though I spent relatively little time in the hotel itself. Aside from the fact that the room was a bit small, everything else was fine. The hotel is well located. The room was pleasant, very clean, and well equipped. It had a good coffee maker and an empty refrigerator so that I was able to store food. The blanket on the bed was rather strange. It felt as heavy as lead. The hotel staff were fine though I had little interaction with them. I did not eat at the restaurant - partially because they specialised in Tapas and, being alone, it didn't seem like much fun. I used the pool, which was heated (the weather was cold for Monterey), to swim lap. I cannot relate to the price since I did not pay. But I was very satisfied.
"Better Than Average But A Few Problems"
I stayed several days at Hotel Casa Munras and formed an overall positive impression of the place. Strong positives: very welcoming and helpful staff members (front desk and restaurant); beautiful landscaping throughout; nicely decorated room and modern bath; very clean and well-tended room and grounds. Negatives: soundproofing between rooms (vertical and horizontal) is medium poor and can be distracting; inferior TV signal (nice modern LG screen but cheapo, fuzzy analog signals on all channels). The hotel is well located for walking to almost anything in Old Monterey of bayside, and it is close to an entrance to CA 1 for jaunts to Carmel or the Rte 68 over-the-hills road to Pacific Grove. The restaurant is good for both dinner and breakfast.
