"Nice B&B with spacious rooms"

   07-11-2016
Rooms are spread over several buildings and we were in the green building. Our 'suite' (302) was over two floors with a nice lounge downstairs and stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom. One slight problem was you could not shut the blinds to the ceiling 'windows' even the women on reception had no idea how to achieve that so if it is moonlight and light disturbs you bring eye mask. Parking can be a problem , they have 2/3 spaces then you are on the road and there are enforced meters. Breakfast was a continental buffet which was adequate.

"Old world charm yet modern"

   05-11-2016
We stayed here for two nights during our Nova Scotia tour. The hotel as well as the town itself appear to be out of an old movie. We stayed across the street ( the hotel has several building in the same general area that comprise "the hotel"). That unit was old , in a nice way, on the outside yet very modern on the inside. Quite a surprise actually. It was a great room. The main building has a sitting room that's open for use and very old world. The have an attached ' florida room' where the serve a very nice breakfast. Honestly though, there is not much to see in Lunenburg. I'm still glad we stopped there. It's very small but very pretty. If you are passing through and even considering staying at Mariner King, just book it. You won't be sorry.

"Historic Yet Modern!"

   20-10-2016
The Mariner King is centrally located & within easy walking distance of shops & restaurants in the scenic town of Lunenburg. Monika in reception was very welcoming & helpful. We are especially appreciative that when we inadvertently left our iPad behind, she contacted us & had it sent back to Ontario! The inn is made up of the very picturesque main building & two annex buildings. We stayed in the family room in the Cranberry suites. This building has an elevator. The room was perfect for us with two large modern, well appointed bedrooms (with fireplaces) and a large bathroom with a walk in shower. The breakfast room is quaint & pretty, almost sunroom like. Breakfast was European style with meats & cheeses & wonderful smoked salmon as well as breads & fresh preserves. We did not find parking on the street a problem. Our stay here definitely exceded our expectations & we would definitely recommend it!

"Brightly coloured elegance"

   19-10-2016
We were in the bright green building a few properties away from the main building. After difficulty in finding a parking space (free parking after 5pm until 10am next day) we were quite stressed when we arrived at Reception to find that we were not in the main building. The green building only has 3 rooms above a shop. Once we got over all the stairs we had to negotiate we were pleased with our room 301 which was a double window corner room. Very comfortable bed and good en-suite. Weather was good for the 2 nights we were there which was lucky as we had to get to the main building for our buffet breakfast. Lots to choose from and set us up for the day. Lots of restaurants to try.

"Modern inn inside old shell"

   18-10-2016
We stayed here in the pink house across the street from the blue inn called the Mariner King Inn. Monika in reception was quite friendly and very helpful. She explained that we would only come into the blue building for breakfast, to use the exercise room or to do some laundry. We would sleep in the pink building across the street. What a wonderful surprise that was: a totally modern renovation inside the original, old shell. We had the suite of two separate bedrooms, each with a fireplace, TV and wardrobe and a shared bathroom in between. The décor was nautical, with light wood touches. Beds were very comfortable; the rooms were spotlessly clean and fresh. After a good night's sleep in these quiet rooms, we returned to the blue building's breakfast room. We chose to enjoy a hearty cold breakfast in the glassed-in room. Food and drink choices were plentiful, from hard-boiled eggs to smoked salmon, from several kinds of juice to coffee or tea. The Lunenburg waterfront is just a few steps away, as are shops and restaurants. We are happy to recommend this inn.
