"Great Stay "
Booked a room for a Friday night at the last minute and when we arrived we were upgraded to a fantastic 2 bedroom suite. Amazing view of both falls. We requested a corkscrew & wine glasses and delivered within minutes. Great service. Will be returning.
"Not as pictured"
I am about 7 stays away from being a diamond member and have to say this was probably my least favorite Hilton so far. To start, we asked the front desk for an upgrade and the service rep did not even attempt to locate an upgrade and rather just said they were not available. When we arrived at the room the place was filthy and very old. It was nothing as the pictures posted online. We went back down and asked for another room and they did find us a better room in the south tower rather than the north tower. The manager Karen was really nice and she did try to make it a better experience for us although she tried to tell us the first room was renovated. We actually took photos to show her there is absolutely no way the room had been renovated as it was really old- the couch had black stains from being so old and worn out. The new room was nice and John the housekeeper was very kind. Although the second room was renovated it still looked old. The shower was really small and you can tell it had been used A LOT as no matter how much you clean it the stains will not come out. The room had a big tub and 2 large windows you can open to look outside of the tub into the room. This could be a romantic thing if you enjoy hot tubs. My hubby and I have been together for a long time but if you are a couple that is not comfortable with one another this room is not the room for you as there is no privacy in the bathroom. It is also not a good room for friends and family that may not be able to do their business without others hearing everything. (Bring your spray:) The hotel is huge and the location is one of the best but it is not maintained well and dirty due to such high demand and so many people coming and going. The service from the valet attendants was great and they were all very friendly. However, the service from the front desk was less to be desired (with the exception of Karen). If I ever came back to Niagara I would likely stay at another resort.
"Hilton Prices should not = Average stay, but it does"
My wife and daughter usually make our way to the Hilton for a one night stay during Christmas season. It's a nice treat that certainly comes with a pricetag. In past years it's been totally worth it - beautiful view of the falls, fireworks; beautiful decorations; nice meals. Last year though, we definitely started to see things slip. Even though we were on a corner room with amazing view, it was disappointing to see a large burn in the carpet, numerous scuffs on the wall, wallpaper that was coming off and what i think is most inexcusable, and quite frankly easiest to replace - the sofa. To say that it was dirty and threadbare would be an understatement. To me, it would be so easy for housekeeping or quality control to identify these types of details so each guest doesn't have to keep on experiencing the same thing. When you think of Hilton, you are thinking of a luxury brand, a higher-end hotel experience, so why not address these things that detract from someone's stay, turning it from a 5 star experience to 3 star. And while i appreciate management commenting on these reviews, saying they appreciate the feedback - in this case, actions speak much louder than words.
"Excellent Service and Falls View"
Up on the 20th floor with a view of both American and Canadian falls. Room was not fancy but certainly adequate. All amenities in place including a two cup coffeemaker and mini-fridge. Hotel easy to locate and parkade parking easy and very handy. Lovely lobby and easy check-in.
Nope, no Falls view, it was construction view. Yes we knew that the pool was "under construction" but that did not prepare me for the view Of the mud pit and heavy equipment. Nor the constant sound of jack hammering. And who works on the air ducts at 8:01 in the morning?! Aside from that, the shower could not go any higher than 86 Degreese so that's a barely-more- than cold shower. If my stay was going to be any longer than 2 days, I would have checked out 5 min after arrival. Not sure what's going on Hilton, but I feel that you could be trying a little harder to keep your guests satisfied during your aweful Reno... people are on vacation. Don't expect them to suffer through 3 h time change to wake up to your jack hammers . Use the other sides of the tower ...or maybe the higher floors.
