"Location, Location and Incredible View"
We are in Toronto to visit our granddaughter with our daughter and are enjoying our stay here. We are fortunate enough to be on the Lake side where the view is incredible. The rooms are comfortable and the room with a sleeper sofa has room for 8 of us to socialize and spend time together. The indoor pool and hot tub, and health club area are nice. The surrounding area is filled with restaurants, grocery is nearby and liquor store just blocks away. Good public transportation and easy walking. We will return next year. Our stay has been even better with the assistance of Efren and Gloria. They have both gone out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome.
"Would stay here again"
Our Trip:: We flew in to the Toronto Pearson International Airport and were faced with the difficult decision of how to get to the hotel. A taxi will cost $50+ and the closest Pearson Express stop/station being a 10 minute walk from the Westin, we elected to rent a car and succumb to the steep $50 per night mandatory valet parking. The Hotel:: The Westin Harbor Castle was an all around excellent hotel [beside the outrageous parking fee]. The lobby is huge with several restaurants and a small gift shop/market. There is no complimentary breakfast, but the restaurants served breakfast. The hotel employees were very nice and helpful. When we called for another shampoo bottle they were immediately at our door. When it came time to call for our car to be pulled to the front, it was always done in a quick manner. Rooms are very clean. We recommend upgrading to the Premium Lake View room. It has more square-footage than the regular room and a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. The hotel was quiet. We really had nothing to complain about regarding the Westin Harbor Castle Location:: The Westin is located on the harbor front, so it is not exactly downtown but you can walk to [most] every major attraction. It is around a 15-20 minute walk to the CN Tower/Rogers Centre/Ripley's Aquarium However, it is around a 30 minute walk to the Eaton Centre and the Distillery District so you may rather take a taxi/uber/drive. There are plenty of taxi available directly in front of the hotel. There is a Tim Horton's and a small grocery store right outside the hotel. Our only negative regarding the location of the hotel was that there were not a ton of restaurant options super close to the hotel. Yes, the hotel has restaurants but they are expensive. In order to get a wider range of restaurant selections we had to walk at least 10 minutes towards downtown. Overall: The Westin Harbor Castle was perfect for what we wanted. We definitely recommend choosing The Westin or a hotel similarly located slightly removed from the chaos of downtown. We would absolutely stay here again.
"You're almost in the water!"
I've enjoyed staying at the Harbor Castle for many years. It is like staying with and old friend!! I've always had a wonderful room and with either a view of the harbor or the city. Both are more than pleasing. Also, you're at the beginning of Younge street and you can walk north for a few thousand miles. I've eaten in the restaurant a number of times. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. But there are just too many restaurants to enjoy in Toronto to single out one. Go explore! One of my favorite meals is to go in front of the Castle and get a sausage sandwich and a large order of hand cut french fries. Then go and sit on the break wall and enjoy a meal that I like and watch the water and people going by. It is a place to enjoy and come back to, often!!
"Girls weekend in Toronto"
Great location. My two daughters & myself were in for a long weekend getaway. Arrived Saturday around noon & were able to get an early check in. I requested a lakeview room if available. We were given a room on the 23 floor with a partial lakeview. Room was comfy. Plumbing had issues ie leaky sink drain. We did a lot of waking ( Ripley’s Aquarium, Distillery District & Toronto Island). Pool area was nice, hot tub temperature could have been hotter. Unfortunately the steam room in the ladies change room was out of order but the sauna was nice. We ate twice at the hotel, food was tasty but pricey. All in all, we would stay there again.
"Good hotel in a great location"
Really nice hotel right down on the shore of Lake Ontario. Easy walking access to the city-centre, shops, bars and restaurants. Room was spacious with two queen-size beds. Bar was nice with excellent, friendly service and a good choice of food. Would benefit from having spa facilities such as a sauna but the pool was a welcome treat after a hard day's sight-seeing.
