"Positive Experience"

I am currently staying at the Banff Inn from April 12- 17th for 5 nights. Night 4 as i write this. I am 43 year old male, advanced snowboarder, Ended up traveling solo as i just dumped my GF. I am a Mt Collective Member which means I have 5 free lift days with the Big 3 ski resorts. I came here 100% to snowboard/ ski.
I probably spent to much time researching and reading reviews but picked this place due to TA saying it's #1 value, two the reviews were positive, and the sale price (off season) were very discounted and attractive to me.
Each front desk member was top tier, Four Seasons good with costumer service and acted like a concierge to me. The steam room, sauna, and steam room were spotlessly clean. I belong to a very high end gym at the states called Equinox, and there facility was cleaner. Also it appears they hired a progressive intelligent know their design as you see the theme throughout the hotel from the lobby, spa area, and rooms. I was happy the room had a refridge as it helps me not waste money on meals (although i ate nice restaurants daily off the main st drag (Banff Ave). Beds were comfortable, I had a view of the front, which is the Banff St and the gorgeous Mt's.
Ok- so here is the run down.... 90% of the hotels are all on Banff Ave so when you walk from the Banff Inn to town you pass by the 20 hotel competitors. I just had to check them out to get a feel of Banff and to scoot out where to stay next year.
Someone complained about noise- head slap to them as i heard no noise. The free ski shuttle is a 200 yard walk in front of the 4 Star Caribou Hotel, maybe it is nicer but you will pay another $90 a night. The walk to town is easy only a 10 m stroll. I get it in winter woman complain about cold so there are plenty of cabs to drive you 1/2 a mile. The grocery store was even closer.
I read reviews about WIFI trouble, I had none on mid-week but during the weekend a bus full of high school bank kids checked in. I doubt these kids even ski and they likely just play on their phones/tablets and hence why I had trouble on WIFI on the weekend. BTW- the front desk manager said they are adding new technology so the hotel WIFI will be laser speed.
The only baby disappointment is the breakfast but the hotel did say "Continental" so it's not their fault... Typical, bagels, toast, 3 cereal options, a few fruit options. I wish you could pay for an upgrade for hot oatmeal with almonds and dried fruit or maybe an egg sandwich. (since they have a nice pizza place in their kitchen in the evening, maybe the #'s make sense to add breakfast choices for $$.
You can stay 1 night at Fairmont or stay here for 3 nights. I booked 2 nights and stayed 5 nights. This is how much i liked it.
Note- If you are a hardcore snowboarder, and 90% of your decision is based on the hill, the collective universe all says Lake Louise is superior to Sunshine. (Noquay sucks -one the smallest hills ever). The bus ride from Banff Inn is 55 minutes to get from hotel pick up to drop off, despite the gorgeous scenery, it may make sense to stay in Lake Louise if you want much easier access to fresh tracks. The earliest pick up option was 8:35am. Then again most people are not as picky as me with my expectations of what i want from the hill" -Lake Lousie is up there with JacksonHole & Snowbird. It reminded me most of these two mountains
My trip was a success and I am glad i stayed at The Banff Inn. It is a quality boutique hotel
"Loft room perfect for family "

Trying to find accommodation with 3 separate beds can be difficult. Most places offer 2 queens in a room, which does not work for our family - we need 3 separate queen beds.
The Banff Inn Loft room was perfect for us. It has a queen bed in the upper level and a further queen and double at the lower level. This gave our family of 4 plenty of space without having to take two rooms.
We enjoyed the whirlpool, steam room and Sauna, which were clean and well maintained.
The desk staff were helpful and provided us with all of the information we needed.
The Banff Inn is well located. Just a short walk down the Main Street to all of the shops and restaurants. The local bus stops very close to the front door for trips to the Gondola and Hot Springs for $2. And the Brewster’s big3 ski bus to Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise and Norquay is just two doors down the road. We lasso liked that this stop is one of 5he first on the journey, because we were assured a good seat on the way there and were amongst the first to be delivered home on the way back.
The only criticism would be that there is no drying room at the Inn, which meant that we had to take our ski boots to our rooms. The weather was pretty dry for our stay, so this wasn’t really a problem, but if it was wet, a drying room would be good. The lockable ski racks were also a little tight for powder skis.
The downstairs restaurant was handy for quick pizza meals when we couldn’t be bothered going into town and the continental breakfasts were good too.
This is a really good value Inn, clean and well serviced. We would definitely recommend it if you need 3 beds and you are looking for a great well priced option.

No parking if you have a truck, Spent 3/4 of an hour first night just trying to find a place to park. Very few channels on TV and they throttle back the WIFI bandwidth so could not even watch Netflix on my IPAD and the WIFI coverage is very bad, kept dropping all the time. Hotel itself was ok but room was dirty.
"Very good hotel, nice rooms, great price!!"

Call the hotel for more room availability as online doesn't show more choice. Hotel's breakfast is good too..restaurant is a bit small. Rooms are very clean and comfy. No microwaves in the rooms. Parking is limited so i much suggest to park there and walk as the hotel is on the main stretch. Walking distance to Safeway, mall and other attractions.
