"Great place to decompress, majestic views."

This was a great venue to relax and enjoy a weekend away. The location is scenic, restaurant food was great and the newly renovated rooms are spacious and comfortable. we did find the noise from the hallway a bit much. Kids running and guests knowing on doors after midnight was annoying. There are areas closed due to the renovations but had little impact to our stay. We had dinner here twice and the food was great and the cost was on average what you would expect. The breakfast prices however was way too much for simple breakfast foods. It would be nice to have different pillows as well, our were loftier than what we like.

"New rooms but Reno's galore"

I was lucky to have one of the newer rooms which was very nice. Unfortunately half the place is under reno. In told they have 1 staff per room but 3 are actually local. Food at banquet dinners was very good. They offer free shuttle to ski five minutes away.

"Beautiful location"

This resort is nestled in the rocky mountains, beautiful and secluded area. The hotel is a little out dated, but they were doing renovations while we stayed at the hotel. The new restaurant had just opened, it was very nice and the food was tasty. The kids enjoyed the pool and the outdoor hot tub. The spa could definitely be updated and employed with better staff. Some other staff throughout the hotel weren't very helpful or friendly and looked very miserable. Check-in staff was great and helpful, as well as the staff at the kananaskis outfitters who told us great hikes and snowshoe trails to check out in the area. Walking paths that lead to stunning mountain views, and a pond with waterfalls, and tons of wildlife right at the hotel. Cant wait for the renovations to be finished so we can return!

"Family Friendly - Renovations Getting There"

The Delta Kananaskis has always been a great place with kids/family and the renovations underway are very much needed to bring the somewhat aging resort back up to a level of excellence. For the first time (in several visits) we discovered the kids club. This place is actually well stocked with toys and the tree house, crash mat and pillows were great for the kids. They also had one of those projectors that creates a game space on the floor that the kids enjoyed as well as two different TV areas with beanbag chairs and couches. It is unsupervised, so occasionally we had to supervise a little closer as our toddler/preschooler were getting run over by older kids whose parents had let them come by themselves (more just making sure our kids didn't get run over!). The pool still is awaiting renovation and so it is still slippery tile and a cold pool (our 1.5 year old found it too cold to have any fun). The hot tub is fun and goes from inside to out, but a bit hot for kids for too long. The main restaurant has been renovated and our kids loved the kids buffet at dinner, which allowed them to get food well before ours arrived and also to go back multiple times. We loved the fact that for the under 5 (maybe 6) set both the dinner and breakfast buffet were free! Only drawback was (and this might also be a positive!) the table for the food was quite high, so most kids likely need adult help to get to the food. The servers were great and very attentive so that definitely makes for a great dining experience! As a note, it can get busy for dinner so consider a reservation. Only real downside (aside from ongoing renos, which they are handling well!) was our room service experience. In spite of the person taking the order repeating it back we did not get what we ordered (no coffee and the drink was a single not a double) and my husband realized it after he signed for the order so short of calling them back there was not much we could do. That said, we are pretty sure we were only charged for what was delivered, so not a huge issue. However, if you order room service at night and think to enjoy it after the kids go to bed, be aware that they apparently now call to check and see how everything was, a nice touch except the phone ringing just after getting everyone settled. May try asking them not to call next time! (The individual did apologize for the order issue.) And finally, the bellboys, for the most part were amazing, friendly, helpful and cheerful! We had them constantly offering to help with gear and the shuttle to Nakiska for skiing was easy to grab (they sort of go on demand I guess) and they offered a return at a designated time if needed. This is a great family resort to escape to the mountains and once the renos are done will likely again be worth what the rates are!

"Great hotel in Kananaskis!"

The hotel was great! We went there initially because my Fiancée had a ski race training and since we went there as a family we figured we would be more comfortable at a hotel that can offer winter sports/activities. The hotel was under renovation BUT the staff was very accomodating and courteous. The room was nice and comfortable, king size bed and a cot for the little one; plenty of room for everyone. The restaurants are really good! The food is amazing and it doesn't break the bank! The hotel also offers multiple winter sports on hotel grounds; snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skating, fat biking, etc. We had such great time doing sports over there! There are so many activities to be done that it is almost impossible to do it all in a single week-end and It was such a good experience that we did not want to leave once our stay was over! The Nakiska ski resort is also, and literally, a 5-minute drive from the hotel. I also believe there is a shuttle bus but not too sure on that one. Really and truly it doesn't matter since the hill is so close to the hotel. From the hotel one can see a few runs... that is how close the hotel is from Nakiska.
