"First time disappointment but looking forward to the renovations in 2018!"

As a mature couple, we have enjoyed an annual trip to the mountains to this favorite spot. We love that the resort is in a secluded mountain area away from the hustle and bustle of town/city activity. Lots of outdoor activities, great selection of trails, close to nakiska/skiing, multiple restaurant choices, indoor/outdoor hot tub and pool. Loved the outdoor fire pit with smores. Staff at this resort continue to be amazing. They consistently go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a great experience. Very excited that the hotel will be undergoing renovations shortly! We really missed that the little shops are gone... the hot tub is in terrible disrepair which I think is just not safe for public use. The food is more on the expensive side which we get... but the quality (except for breakfast in the Forte) is just no longer there. There is never an excuse for high priced bad food... a real disappointment this last weekend. Really really missed the Signature Club experience.. check in, complimentary breakfast and afternoon food offering. Why would you ever remove this value added special part of the resort? Would appreciate adults only part of (whole floor). Although a great family resort.. nice to have the family noise in the halls when you have no kids.

"From Prime Rib to inedible Brisket"

Before Marriott took over, the buffet on the Family Day Long Weekend used to be Prime Rib, now that it's a Marriott the price is the same but the feature is Brisket that not one person at our table was able to cut or chew (not exaggerting), and they still expected the $30 pp. When we complained to the hosts they said they were aware of the problem as they had already had many complaints. Hmmm, why are you still serving it then? The same for all their food prices, the quality hasn't improved but the prices have soared...$16 for a bowl of room service oatmeal...seriously? Hotel room prices have soared now too but its still the same room. PS. If you are in an un-renovated room make sure you get one with a window that opens because the thermostats don't work and you cant turn the heat down. I can commiserate with the fellow looking for the laundry as I also couldn't find it either and the hotel desk didn't know, finally found it in the main lodge on the 3rd level above Forte. Overall impression since becoming a Marriott, same or cheaper quality for higher prices ...

"This resort is not going for Canadian clients"

The Delta is now owned by Marriott. It's being up graded. The rooms are redecorated. The colours are changed from the warm beige and browns to cold grey. They didn't up grade the beds from queen size to kings. The bath rooms are the same size with modern fixtures. The biggest up grade is the price. One night stay with supper and breakfast for a family of 4 is at least $620 (with taxes and tips, without alcoholic beverages). Since the Canadian dollar has dropped, this would be OK for American or overseas tourists. Don't expect to get a decent night sleep if you come on the weekend: screaming kids race down the hallways till 11PM followed by parents who usually hold a noisy convention in front of your door before turning in. It all starts up again by 8AM the next day.

"for family"

okay so the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis is a decent hotel, large, lots of rooms over three main blocks, several restaurants to choose from and a Spa and Gym. There is loads to do in the area especially with Nakiska Ski Resort on it's doorstep. We visited during family day weekend and that meant the hotel was super busy, with lots of families with young children and the hotel laid on a few events for them. The rooms were very well appointed and the staff all pleasant and friendly. The grounds are great for a short stroll and some fantastic views, also with a couple of skating areas. However...there wasn't much to cater for Adults only... other than Woody's bar, and we weren't allowed a game of Gin Rummy "because of the Video Gaming Machines!". The food was good though - especially the baby back ribs with the backcountry sauce. There is an indoor / outdoor hot tub (with access through under the windows!) but weren't big enough for a busy hotel and the outside hotel was in desperate need of maintenance and cleaning! The Lobby was a bit tired looking and the delightful piano player drowned out by the hubbub going on, no real place to sit, relax have a drink and listen. We ordered Room Service breakfast to avoid a noisy breakfast room, but were left a little bit disappointed with the food (which was lukewarm, we can put that down to them being busy). Overall - left a little bit disappointed - we now know it's for families, but for the life of me I can't see why there don't have a few quiet areas for adults to relax and chill. But there aren't many options in the area in winter! They are going through renos at the moment.

"Amazing Family Day weekend getaway"

This was our second stay at the Delta Kananaskis. We love it. The service is amazing. From the serving staff to the shuttle drivers it is outstanding. We had breakfast at The Market Cafe & at Forte; both were very good. We had dinner at Forte (slow service but they gave a discount on our meal to compensate), The Wildflower and the Buffet. Our two younger kids ate free at all. We stayed in a renovated family suite (separate bedroom for parents), very nice. We went to Nakiska daily and shuttle service was available anytime we needed. The pool/hot tub is amazing. The hot tub was being repaired the first two days we were there and staff were very apologetic about it although it wasn't their fault. We will definitely be back. This hotel has the best customer service we have experienced.
