"Vancouver November 2016"
Great service from the staff..could not do enough for you ..Rooms were modern, clean and stylish. Very easy to adjust room temperature, the bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great view of Coal Harbour.
"Fine hotel central to Vancouver Convention Centre and steps from stunning view"
I expected a very comfortable hotel and that's what I got after the somewhat chilly check in was completed. The young man at the front desk couldn't initially find my name and then when that was resolved and I'd fumbled for a few seconds finding picture ID he very coolly gave me my key and pointed me in the direction of the elevators leaving me wondering how I'd offended him. My room was on the 15th floor, overlooking Cordova Street, the serene looking Terminal City Hotel pool and the pretty little cupola on the Sinclair building. It also overlooked the Waterfront's own blanketed outdoor pool and a slim strip of hotel maze garden, which I'm not sure how you access. (It was December 3rd and one section of pale pink shrub roses was plainly still in vigorous bloom--how could you not love Vancouver?) The room was decorated in tones of gold, cream and brown. It had two very high, firm double beds and lots of pillows. The beds also have useful little reading lamps built into the side of the large upholstered headboards. There was a large t.v. and a built in desk with one armless leather office type chair --not the most comfortable seating if you wanted to watch a hockey game on t.v. in a position other than lying on the bed. There was a long low upholstered bench in front of the window, but again, not really comfy t.v. watching furniture. The bathroom had all the amenities you'd expect in a good hotel, including oceans of hot water and lovely rain shower shower heads. As someone affected by arthritis I found the shiny tile flooring a little challenging, especially when the only grab bar in the whole bath tub area was on the far side in the middle of the wall. I would think it would be safer to have a second grab bar at the end of the tub given it is a bit of a step up and over. Much better than relying on the screws in the towel shelf to hold or worse yet having the half hooks on the shower curtain give way. The room was fairly sound proof too as there was a noisy party two doors down but I only heard the noise once I was in the hallway. On the other hand, on my first morning I could hear the phone in the room next to mine ring for several minutes leaving me wondering whether something untoward had happened to the occupant. It is easy to access the food court and Convention Centre without going outside (and risking being run over at that somewhat frantic corner). Press "C" when you are in the elevator and head through the french doors and stay right. You will need your key to enter the elevator on the way back into the hotel (or go straight up the escalator to the main bank of elevators).
"Wonderful Luxurious Comfort with Excellent People"
We are staying at the Fairmont for a 5-day conference. The hotel is wonderful, very comfortable and elegant. The bed is extremely comfortable and filled with soft pillows, the room has a writing desk and a great harbour view. The bathroom is a good size, with a glassed-in overhead shower. The room has been quiet, the climate control is excellent and quiet, everything is very nice indeed. The pool, hot tub, and fitness room are well equipped and comfortable. The pool is outdoor, but heated. In the typical west coast drizzle it would be fine, and of course in the sun, delightful. The elevators are fast and available promptly. The concierge and bell/door/auto valet services are excellent and efficient. The front desk staff and housekeeping are also. We've been treated wonderfully well by the professional and friendly staff here at the Fairmont, and hope to visit again. Nothing but good to say about the hotel.
"Great Location and Comfortable Rooms"
The hotel is located near the water and Stanley park. Just about everything is within a 15-minute walk: the Park, the Beach, Gastown, and BC Place. The rooms are well appointed and are large. The views can be breathtaking on the upper floors as they gaze across Stanley Park. The staff is the usual Fairmont kind: well trained and attentive. The pool is an indoor/outdoor combination that is heated and the gym provides good cardio and free weights.
"Mom / daughter trip"
Beautiful hotel. Loved the location -all sites seemed walkable. Rooms featured couch, king and large shower with tv built into bathroom mirror. All bath towels luxurious. Gold floor level was an awesome upgrade. Headed to gold lounge for late night snacks. Full hot breakfast featuring bacon, potatoes, sausage served in gold lounge. Loved the service, staff and cozy feel of lounge. Swimming pool outside on roof top visited at night - could use more patio furniture to sit on as I was watching my daughter swim. Overall will recommend to friends and family. Can't wait to return.
