"Wonderful place to stay"
We truly enjoyed our stay. From the greeting with an ice cold flannel and cool drink, to the friendliness of all staff it was a pleasure and welcome break from our intensive travel schedule. Rooms were modern and clean with great AC and views over the desert. We loved lounging by the pool and look at the traveling orix visiting the water hole in full view from the pool. However- there were very few sunbeds and shade- something I would recommed the lodge to add as it is a busy hotel visitied by many people. Food was great with quite the selection of fresh and tasty food. Lots of healthy salads in addition to the evenings great offering of different kind of game meat (fun to try all the different ones). And if you don't like that they would whip up a tradional stir fry after you composed the ingredients. Breakfast was also lovely- buffet style and an omelette/egg station. All in all a pleasure although the wifi was really very poor compared to many other places we stayed in during our three weeks in Namibia.
"Good Restaurant but always the same food."
It's very nice situated in the middle of the Namib desert. The sunset is awesome. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is always a buffet. And the main food like the fish, meat and stuff ist every day the same which is a bit boring. We have been there the first time in 2008 and already then the food was the same.
Absolutely stunning locale, accommodation and superior food and wait staff. The only downside has to be the Reception team. I found them very lacklustre and unhelpful. I arrived at 12:57pm and was told to wait until 1pm for check in. I chuckled thinking it was a joke, but no. I sat on a couch for 180 seconds until they decided to serve me. Very weird and then at check out, I just found them to be so rude when I asked if I could have access to the atm on site. They said, “No, it’s breakfast time. Go to the petrol station!†Beyond that - amazing place!
"A fabulous 2 nights in the desert"
Stayed here for 2 nights on a tour of Namibia, chalets are very spacious and you have you own 'front porch'. Our only complaint would be there was no bottles of water in the room for us(every other hotel we'd stayed in had water in the rooms) and the bathroom was lacking in extras like soap, lotions and face cloths. But apart from that no complaints. Its in a stunning location and I love that all you can hear is the sound of the insects and birds. The food is really good, lots of different meats to choose from!! And beautiful desserts, cakes. The pool is just the job to cool down from the heat of the desert. Overall a lovely 2 night stay.
"VERY special Oasis!"
It took us hours over a gravel dirt road to arrive at this amazing place in the middle of the desert, surrounded by granite mountains. It's such an oasis! Each person has a little "cottage" with a front porch, covered with a canvas material for sun protection. Oryx wander around, right up to one's front door. The view from every cabin is wonderful. Keep in mind, that you're in a desert, so while the rooms are lovely, there are no TV's, phones and internet doesn't work in your room. Internet only worked at the registration desk. But there is a front porch, large open shower, separate large tub, double modern sinks and that endless view. You will hear wonderful sounds at night. Your wake-up call will be a knock on the door. After sunset, meals are outdoors with grills going with 4 types of fish, stir-fry, chicken, pork, sausage, Kudu, Wart Hog and many other things. The food is plentiful. There's a small pool, which is pretty cold, but with a great view, and a bar. You will want a flashlight to get back to your cabin.
