"Better than in says on the tin! Highly recommended"

Spent a week at the resort after safari and was really impressed. The hotel borders a beach with pure white sands, palm trees and a coral reef. The rooms are in small blocks around the gardens, we had a suite (worth trying to get one on the front but not a big deal) and had great views of the ocean and could hear the crashing waves and rustling of palm leaves. There are plenty of sun beds with most people opting for those next to the beach overlooking the ocean. The food was of a high standard alternating between buffet nights and dinner served st the table - my family were split which type they preferred. Drinks in the bars were cheaper than UK equivalent. Service was great and given with a smile. location could be an issue for some. It is a genuine resort hotel with nothing around it and just over an hour from Stonetown etc. Trips and transport were also expensive. Only other points of criticism - stop charging for wifi it's out of date and the wifi is poor anyway.

A beautifully-presented hotel, which serves the best food i have had at any hotel. Staff are very friendly and cheerful and go out of there way to help give you the best possible experience. In particular Mtwana, Maria and Said took care of our family and brought joy and laughter to our holiday.

"Excellent Hotel"

Magical surroundings.extremely clean and very welcoming.Thes staff always have a welcoming smile, nothing is too much trouble you only have to ask.Every element has been well thought out, well done all of you.Hope to come back one day.

"Wonderful beach resort and perfect getaway "

We stayed at Breezes for one week at the beginning of August. The stay was phenomenal, we got upgraded to a suite due to our honeymoon. The resort is perfect for a beach getaway, the beach is beautiful and the pool nice. We always got a sun chair with no hassle and the staff spoiled us during our whole stay. Special mention to the F&B manager Lucas and Asia who made every meal perfect and to the whole water sports team for organizing great adventures. We went snorkeling, diving, did a city and spice tour as well as the reef walk. Only small downside is the gym, which is quite small for the amount of people. But this is complaining on a high level. For men one thing of note that is missing from the website, please bring long pants for dinner. Food was for such a resort always perfect, every night was a different theme and there was always plenty for everyone. One night we had dinner at their private beach dining site (the tide) which was worth the additional fee and an evening to remember. We hope to come back one day either to Breezes or one of their other hotels. Asantye sana!!!!

"A totally relaxing place to stay"

We (family of four with 2 teenagers, 14 & 18) stayed at Breezes Beach Resort & Spa for 7 nights in late July/early August following a great but tiring safari. Having arrived late in the evening and having missed dinner the hotel arranged for some sandwiches and fruit to be brought to our rooms, which was a nice touch. The deluxe hotel rooms were very comfortable, with a little area outside with 2 chairs and a small table with a view of the beautiful, well-maintained and colourful garden. Only a couple of the accommodation blocks had full sea/beach views. There is also a drying rack on the patio, if you need to do some laundry or to dry swimwear. Beds (with mosquito nets) appeared at first try to be on the firm side but we all slept well on these. The walk-in shower was adequate but the rainfall showerhead could benefit hugely with an increase in water pressure – it was a bit on the low side. Hairdryers are already plugged in and ‘hidden’ in a drawer or a wooden box (to stop people from taking them home?) – makes using them slightly awkward if you are fairly tall. Toiletries are provided (shampoo/conditioner & shower gel). Coffee & tea making facilities are present, including a large bottle of water. There is a minibar in the room, which we did not use, but prices seemed reasonable. Hotel pool was nice; although not huge, it was never really busy in the pool. However, unfortunately, like most hotels, you need be ready to put your towels out in the morning; we had hoped to avoid this, but after one day without having a sunbed you learn fast! The pool is surrounded by lots of bougainvillea in different colours, making it a really nice setting. The beach is lovely, white sand, providing stunning views and great for collecting shells. There are locals trying to sell tours and clothing/souvenirs, but if you politely say no, they will not hassle you any further. The tide is extreme and at low tide (timing of which varies a lot day by day) you can do a reef walk (make sure you have beach shoes, which can be rented at the water sports centre, as there are loads of sea urchins; they also do a free daily guided reef walk). Swimming in the sea is possible, but there is seaweed and the caution for sea urchins remains. If you want to do a lot of swimming/playing in the sea you may want to consider a different place to stay. The sunbeds by the beach are great, lovely views and you catch a nice breeze, which you do not get by the pool, so good for hot(ter) days. The sunbeds all have waiter service for drinks and/or food – you just drop down a coconut on a string to let the staff know that you would like ‘service’. The food exceeded our expectations, good quality and well presented. Breakfast is buffet-style, with eggs of any style cooked fresh while you wait; the same applies to pancakes, waffles and French toast. Plenty of different types of fresh fruit and juices plus cereals, pastries, toast, etc. Lunch was not included in our half-board package, but you could order this from the pool bar/restaurant, both snacks and main meals. They also serve lovely cocktails, with a daily cocktail special. Dinner of 5-courses alternates between buffet-style and set menu waiter-service, with a choice of mains (red meat, white meat/fish, vegetarian). They also have kids’ menus. Note that although dinner is included in a half board package, drinks during dinner are not, not even the water. Overall, we were really impressed with the variety and quality of the cooking and immaculate presentation of the food. The creamy vanilla ice cream with crushed caramelised peanuts was just fantastic! We booked two tours through the hotel reception, combined as a one-day trip. They have a dedicated tour contact at the hotel reception who was extremely helpful and friendly to ensure our requirements were met. The hotel reception also organised a well-stocked packed lunch for us (for a very reasonable charge). One negative to mention: the free wifi around the reception, restaurants and pool is not great, intermittent and any down- or uploads take a long time. It is ok for email and Whatsapp, but any other applications just take too long. If you need reliable wifi you may have to opt for the paid wifi which is likely to be better and available in your room as well – we did not use this so no idea how well it works. TIP: although there are mosquitoes after sunset, as long as you use a good mosquito repellent you are fine wearing short-sleeved clothes like summer dresses to dinner. One thing that really stuck with me is the friendly and cheerful staff, whatever their job, they always smiled and asked about your day – it seemed genuine, not forced. Thank you all so much for making our holiday a special one to remember!
