"Requires improvement "
This hotel really requires improvement. Firstly, the staff are not very friendly which is unusual for Borneo as all the people are so lovely! The restaurant isn't great either. I ordered a Nasi Lemak which was cold when it came to the table. I asked for the chicken to be reheated but they just brought back another piece of cold chicken. I didn't fancy eating cold meat so hardly ate any of my dinner! The restaurant staff look bored and as if they would rather be somewhere else. Breakfast was ok. The rooms are in real need of a makeover and need updating. We were upgraded to a suite, but even that looked tired. The bed was rock hard which resulted in me waking up with a stiff neck and headache. Our towels also smelt slightly mouldy. On the positive side, the aircon was effective. There is free wifi available but it is hit and miss and not very fast. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.
"Location outside town"
We stayed one night on the way to Selingan Island - location is a bit outside town, you can walk to town but would recommend taxi. Nice food in restaurant with ok prices...hotel have a nice pool area. Rooms a bit outdated.
We were offered an upgrade to stay in the hotel as part of a tour package. It was about $78 for 2 people for 2 nights so a no brainer, but did wonder what it would be like. Pleasant surprise. Room clean & comfortable, if a bit dated. We did not swim but the pool & surrounds were lovely. Dinner was average, but Sarah (? in charge of restaurant) was very friendly and told us a lot about the hotels history. I would happily stay there again. Bit far from town if you don't have a car or are not part of a tour
"Very quiet but comfortable "
We were booked into this hotel as part of a tour we booked. The hotel was clean and comfortable enough. The hotel was very quiet and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The menu was very limited for vegetarians with the only options being pasta, which I found a little strange being in Malaysia. Obviously not the fault of the hotel but due to how quiet the hotel was it lacked a bit of atmosphere and could have done with some music in the public areas.
This is a very affordable & comfortable hotel. The meals are great plenty of choices, they have both Asian & Western style. Spent 3 nights here couldn't fault it. All the staff are helpful & very friendly.
