"Convenient place to stay in ipoh"

Stayed 3d2n. Overall, i enjoyed & i couldnt find anything that's wrong w this hotel. I slept very well at night ( just stayed for sleep).😆 Butttt, as a local. Their so-called best "cucur udang" were dissapointing. Pros 1. Great customer service 2. Comfy bed 3. Breakfast was OK Cons 1. The cucur udang! The worst! How on earth you could serve that cucur udang to your guest? It was overcooked. I even compare their pamphlet of cucur udang to mine! 2. TV channels missing Will come back in future. Bear in mind to not to order their so-called great cucur udang.

"Ok hotel. Horrible nightclub noise all night"

So firstly I must compliment the front desk staff. Friendly, smiling and efficient at what they do. Check In was easy and hassle free. Room was ok. Big and clean. Some modernisation would be beneficial. But the nightmare starts around 10pm. This is a business hotel and nobody warns you about the nightclub to the side of the hotel that will be blasting horrible bass lines until 2am. Upon calling reception at around 11am advising I had to be up for a meeting at 6.40am they advised there nothing we can do. All rooms will be loud. Some soundproofing wouldn't go wrong and make an enjoyable stay.

"Needs an Overhaul...."

After reading the recent reviews here I am inclined to agree that the condition of this hotel is below average, hence the rating. I suspect the management may be aware and have chosen NOT to read nor reply any comments here on Tripadvisor or any other site. Since I stayed over the Christmas weekend it was nearly impossible to book any other hotel in Ipoh. I do think that it is only fair that they reduce their rating to at least a 3 star hotel and also match their prices accordingly by at least 20% of the current prices that are listed online. The physical condition of the hotel is needless to say from the many comments is abysmal. In no way does it compare to the Impiana Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and sadly tarnishes it's name. I would not go as far as to say that is the worst hotel ever. I will rate their service as friendly and helpful, though not to a professional hotel standards as the maids and some of the staff have a difficult time understanding English. So if you speak Malay, it will be better. I had trouble the first night as I was not able to turn of the light from the dresser. I only realized when I came back to the room after midnight. I was too tired to call down to reception and wait for the technician to come up and slept anyways. However in the morning when I notified them at breakfast, they solved the problem within 5 minutes and that was actually quite good. The hotel is located beside the UMNO Party main building for the Ipoh Town so their primary source of business if from there. It's probably because they don't really mind about the condition of the hotel and therefore the hotel has not been motivated to make any improvements as of yet. The minibar in the room is one of the few in Malaysia that is still considered cold. Meaning if you put your drink inside the fridge it will chill to a noticeable point unlike many of the modern hotels that use low economy powered minibars that barely chill your drink. I found the shower to be adequate and satisfactory. It can get pretty hot during the low peak hours so be extra careful! During peak hours as expected the pressure will be low and the water not as hot. The coffee house located at the lobby level is slightly below average. I did find the staff to be helpful and friendly but the food, the ambience is not up to par. Despite all of this, I would say that it was as expected from the comments on TripAdvisor and because you mentally prepare yourself for it, it wasn't too bad. It was adequate. I still wouldn't choose this hotel if I had a choice though,

"Probably the worst hotel"

Terrible hotel for the price paid!!!!! We took an ''premiere" and a king size bed room? Xtra blanket, xtra pillow n xtra towel are all chargeable! We stayed at 9 floor where there were maintenance works just 1 floor down and no info given! Swimming with murky color water and we just forgo for it. Reception counter with just 1 person really working and the other 2 staffs are probably trainee, she check you in and at the same time answering in room customer requests and outside customer asking for room rate.... You would better opt for better hotel weather its cheaper or more expensive...

"Needs improvement "

The building is getting old. Paint on the wall and door was coming off, carpet has damaged edges, leather on bed headboard was moulding and peeling. There were ants around the bathroom sink. Ok to stay if you are not fussy.
