Over Impiana Hotel Ipoh

Check-in hotel around 6.30pm, none of people (including public ppl) at lobby except one check-in staff. I asked the check-in staff, why no one around and she told me the hotel is full house. When I open the room door, first impression is hotel room very smelly and look old. It is overated as 4* hotel. Regretted to book this hotel, somemore for 2 nights. Will not recommended to anyone.
Lovely hotel, just a little bit away from shops, etc. Would be great if you came with vehicle. Great place to stay for the horse races, if that's what you go to Ipoh for. Breakfast the best ever. Bread tasted like home made, great, pleasant staff.
"big bed and nice new pool"
loved the big king bed.. fit our small family perfectly. Had a leaking problem with the bathroom sink but was quickly fixed by the maintenance guy who even cleaned up the mess instead of just calling housekeeping. Food selection for breakfast was yummy (dimsum, noodle soup) and room service was kind enough to accommodate our request for specific request even though it wasn't in the room service menu. Newly renovated to include a pool but only problem i had was that there was no changing room available when I went. But all in all, we had a good time there.. best to go if you drive though, since it's not right smack in the city where all the food and sight seeing is at.
"Creepy hotel with unclean bathroom and bedsheets"
Booked this hotel in hopes that it is as good as the Impiana Hotel in Kuala Lumpur but was thoroughly disappointed. The hotel had a old (vintage, if you may) look and feel but can be translated as creepy. The outside, reception and restaurant looked ok but when we got to the room it didnt look like what we thought it would. First, the lock to our room looked like it was pulled out so we also depended on the door lock (which still uses key and not card). The bedsheets had stains and the room itself looked like it hasnt been inhibited in a while (dusty and smelled musky). The shower head was also dirty but luckily there was an overhead shower that we used instead. For the same price you could easily get a better hotel so save your time and money and book a different place.
"The Friendly Hotel "
A pleasant surprise awaits me upon arrival at the hotel to be greeted by a rather friendly staff. He is the new F&B Manager En. Razak. His unique smile and warm hospitality and with an experienced of over 20 years it was heart warming. With his personal touch into looking at our needs for an international event coming up sometime next year he got me and my board member feeling at home. We were treated to teh tarik and the famous local cucur udang plus a little hotel tour was indeed special. My hats off to the entire team. Plus point it's the first resort style hotel within the city.
