"Lovely rivers and tributaries"

I enjoyed the trip through the tributaries. The management and staff was helpful. Considering the location, the facilities were good, Natural setting. Easy access for hiking. Humid wet tropical jungle.

"Decent considering it in the Jungle"

Was a good experience but it wasn't for me and my wife. My wife is petrified of snakes and within 15 minutes of being on site a snake was seen leaving the restaurant and another was being fished out of the bins. So in one sense it was a good start if you wanted to see them. There are lots of monkeys about by the jungle trail entrances and you'll probably here them banging around on the roof of your hut at some point. The monkeys were naughty but entertaining. The guide we had for the morning trek and night walk was brilliant, i didn't catch his name but i over heard him say he lives there and his dad was a park ranger there as well, so he knew his stuff. The night walk was an experience, saw a few scorpions, millipedes, leeches and a fair few big spiders (one was a huntsman). The morning trek up the hill is a good work out so take plenty of water. The canopy walk was ok, nothing spectacular but was worth doing. The boat trip was probably our favourite activity, they take you through the jungle and you stop off at a couple places to have a look round. One was at the camp site and you can feed the fish and they drop off by a trail and wait for you while you go for a swim in a different area of the jungle. The restaurant was decent, the food off the menu was pretty good considering it was the jungle, the buffet was pretty poor though. The food also came out really far apart, one of us would get our meal 10 minutes before the other person. The staff were as helpful as possible but their english was very basic, they only knew what they needed to regarding drinks and food. The huts you stay in are ok, but there are lots of little gaps creepy crawlies can get through. We had a lizard in our cabin the first night & ended up sleeping in the living room because my wife was scared that other things were in the bedroom. The cabins could probably do with updating, maybe be tiled inside rather than be wooden. If you need to watch TV your limited to practically nothing, there was one channel working and it was grainy to say the least.

"Comfort in the rain forest"

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Our chalet was number 57, about 300 yards from the Reception and Restaurant area. The bedroom was very large with a double and single bed, T.V. Small fridge, safety box, kettle, tea & coffee and bottles of water in the fridge that were replaced each day. Plenty of storage space, 2 easy chairs and a desk. There were also umbrellas in the room for the sudden showers! The bathroom was a large wet room, non slippy tiles. Good quality towels that were changed daily. After getting off the short ferry crossing, our luggage was hauled up in a boxed pulley. The heavens opened as we got to our chalet and it was 20 minutes later our luggage was delivered to us. Totally understandable as it thundered and lightened for ages. We had the buffet in the restaurant a couple of times, they BBQ some of the meat but the lamb was always tough. The A La Carte menu had a good selection and I can thoroughly recommend the fish & chips. Very expensive drinks with a can of Tiger Beer costing 20RM, soft drinks 7 RM. Breakfast was an excellent selection of Malaysian and Western food. Service could sometimes be slow but it was very busy the whole time we were there. WiFi was good on a morning but extremely slow at night. There is an excursion desk to book forest walks and boat trips. The boardwalks are well maintained but there are literally hundreds of steps, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Make sure and take water with you on the trails as it is so hot. They have a large water fountain at the excursion desk where you can fill up your bottles. There is a Great Argos and a Bushy Crested Hornbill that frequent the area around the restaurant. They are wild birds but had been injured and have chosen to stay here. The children thought them fascinating and lots of people were taking their photos. There is a shop on site for a few essentials and there is a camera charge of 5RM. We enjoyed 3 days of great birding, even managed to see Gould's Frogmouth and Oriental Bay Owl. Fantastic.

"Convenient location"

The resort is located just at the entrance of the national park which makes you not to lose time crossing the river every time you want to go to the park. The room was basic but comfortable. The service was just ok and the food was not very good except for the beef satay and The mee Manal which were excellent.

"Great jungle resort!"

Very comfortable hotel, directly at the entrance of Taman Negara. Wonderful staff and plenty of (organised) activities for the whole family. Restaurant is not cheap, but offers plenty of choice and quality is very good. Welcome to the jungle!
