"Never Again!!"

We were here for a beach wedding!! A beautiful ceremony!! Awesome outdoors, lush green gardens ( it had been raining)!! But that's where it ends!! The rooms were very disappointing!! Cleaning services were horrible - as the first photos attest ( our room had just been cleaned and the beds made 👀)! Hinges and lights and knobs were full of rust. The bed sheets were bare thread. The towels are tiny and old and flimsy (for lack of a better word) The fridge (we almost threw up)!! Filthy cannot describe it enough!! - the photos don't capture the complete amount of filth! We had a balcony that had very filthy cushion covers!! Let's just say we are not coming back here - unless of course to The Residences - now that's a totally different hotel IMO. Very tasteful!! Spacious! Beautiful! If you are not staying at The Residences - keep off!!

"Relaxing vacation in beautiful surroundings"

   28-06-2017
After climbing Kilimanjaro, which meant sleeping a week in tents, it felt like pure luxury arriving at Leopard beach. We were given a warm welcome and were settled in our Chui cottage shortly after. We spent four days at the resort, and the place was not crowded, which felt good, as our main goal for the vacation was relaxing after Kilimanjaro. The staff were kind and helpful, from the guys om the beach fixing our sunbeds, to the cheerful entertainment team and the helpful receptionists. Half board was perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with stunning view over the ocean, and could still go for lunch at Forty Thieves or go out for dinner. Will definitely come back if I get the chance!

"Awesome!Best place in Diani!"

Block 6. Location is very quiet and cool. The place to be in order to relax to the maximum. The best places include the swimming pool, the beach, the various restaurants and bars have the best ambience in this world. The best venue for a big or small celebration event.

"Best Wedding location ever!!"

   27-06-2017
I had my wedding here on the 8th of April 2017 this year. Words cannot express what a wonderful time we had considering we were a large group who travelled all the way from the UK for my wedding. Am a GM in the hotel industry myself and from a customer service point of view, the staff here are absolutely fantastic. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They went above and beyond plus we also got upgrades. I was not in contact with the hotel directly for my wedding arrangements and planning, but this was organised for me by a wedding planner based in Nairobi and the day was absolutely perfect. The memory and photos will last forever. Am Kenyan and my husband is English and this experience made me so proud of my fellow counrtymen and how my guests were all treated. I will definately visit again and ofcourse I have been recommending this hotel to all my friends and colleagues in the UK. THANK YOU LBRS

"We felt deceived."

   05-06-2017
Where to start? This hotel is apparently closed until the 26 June 2017. So if you are considering booking it between now and then, you have been warned. My partner and I stayed at LBRandSpa between 29 May and 1 June 2017. Sadly our much anticipated holiday led us to what upon arrival resembled a ghost town. This was particularly disappointing because I had defied suggestions to stay elsewhere and chosen to come to this hotel based on the good rating it has on tripadvisor and seemingly modern décor rooms (the rooms are good especially the villas). Most of the bad comments seemed to be about food. So we booked half board to be on the safe side. The food was ok. Mediocre and limited in choice for such a well-spoken for hotel. But that was not nearly as bad as the feeling of deception we would later experience. It became immediately apparent that this hotel was a bad choice the minute we arrived at the reception on the first day. It was in the afternoon yet the place looked dead - like we were the only ones in this massive hotel. Curious, I inquired from the staff that was meeting us whether we were the only ones. He said that there was about 20 of us – I never counted 20 people. I was surprised there were so few of us because their website had shown and still shows that all room categories from standard to 3 bedroom villas are “sold” until 26 June 2017. So imagine my joy when I called the hotel to inquire about availability and they said I could make a booking for two - in fact, they would upgrade us to a cottage. They did. Over lunch on that first day, we were the only ones at the lemongrass restaurant, a small restaurant which we later learnt was the only one opened. Shortly afterwards we ventured into the beach to see where we would be spending the next two days relaxing, sipping a drink, sunbathing and/or reading a book. To our shock, we were confronted with renovations going on, a dirty swimming pool, all beach beds stacked away by the side and cobwebs. This is when the feeling of having been deceived truly set in. The hotel was closed but for some reason, the management was still taking in unsuspecting holiday seekers such as us. We took a stroll at the beach, and when some beach boys caught up with us, one told us that they were surprised to see us coming out of LBRandSpa because to their knowledge, the hotel was closed. I stifled a panic and contemplated checking out but decided to stay – not sure why. We spent the next two days either in our room or mostly hoping from one opened neighbouring hotel to the next, coveting and regretting our bad choice instead of enjoying what we had paid for. Hotels such as Swahili beach, Southern Palms, the Maji, and Afrochics were opened, but others like Leisure hotel were truly closed and were not accepting visitors for a period. I brought up my disappointment with the management who were apologetic. One promised that they would do something to make it up to us but nothing was done. I didn’t follow up. I was the aggrieved party, it was not my responsibility to chase the management around. The manager on duty on the 31st May also empathized. I appreciated that all those we spoke to were not defensive and got why we felt cheated. That said, I notice after reading the reviews here, that sadly our experience may not be an isolated one. Around this time last year (2016), a review by sikeii included among other things, a seemingly empty hotel. I am also aware that around the time we were there, some people checked in and out soon after for the same reason. Maybe “sold’’ is the hotel industry lingo for closed. If this is the case, then LBRandSpa shouldn’t be accepting bookings at all during their sold/closed period. Because, when a customer books with your hotel, they are not merely booking a room to sleep in, they are also paying for a holiday experience and the other amenities offered by the hotel. Regrettably for us who had taken time off our busy schedules, our experience at LBRandspa was a waste of our time and money. For that reason what should have otherwise been a remarkable experience, ranks among our worst.
